He charged a flat fee for the service and was able to replace the rod and flush the tank out. Prior to the service, our hot water smelled like sulfur -- but sulfur tests were negative, and the cold water did not have any odor. We're on a well here... the best guess was that the anode rod was causing the sulfur / rotten egg smell in the hot water tank. After installing a Corro-Protech powered anode rod, the issue is gone.
