At close, we brought a Cashiers Check with us and gave it to Kari at Land Title to send to the sellers. As part of the closing we paid one year of property insurance. Several weeks later, we were contacted by the listing agent you asked about the check. It had never been received by the sellers. We explained that we had given it to Kari at Land Title. Land Title said they had mailed it. We waited several more weeks to see if it arrived with the sellers. The check never arrived so I had to stop payment on the check but could not get the money for the sellers for 90 days as per bank regulations. Several weeks later, the check was returned to Land Title as 'undeliverable', I.e. bad address. The sellers finally got their money several months after they should have. In March, I discovered that my insurance had not been paid through closing as it should have. Land Title swore they had paid it and had the cancelled check. They could not read the endorsement on the back of the check. When I looked at the back up paperwork, I saw they had not sent the check to the insurance but had sent it to the mortgage company. To make a long story short, it took until mid May to fix their mistake. Land Title said that a clerk had misaddressed it. I call it unprofessional. It took me hours on the phone with the insurance company and Land Title over several months to fix this. It was a nightmare.

On a side note, when the surveyors showed up, unannounced, they told me they didn't have the equipment with them to do the job???? They said they would be back next day. 8 days later the site was revisited, no courtesy phone calls again. I could go on and on but do yourself a favor and find a different company to deal with.
