As a homeowner, I am always skeptical about contractors because of some negative experiences in the past until I found Juan. Where do I start. Juan is amazing! Juan and his team did a fabulous job on our kitchen cabinets. They painted and replaced the doors and handles. Previously they were oak from the 1990s. They were in excellent shape but the oak was grainy. We had them initially painted by a different contractor but we were never happy with the scallops in the doors because they were out of style. In addition the tracks on the doors were breaking. Juan and his team started the project right away. We found the handles. They ordered the doors. They had to purchase better hinges as ours didn't work. They essentially repurposed our existing drawers, put better tracks on them, changed the doors and painted the interior and exterior of the cabinets. The cost was super reasonable and the craftsmanship was excellent. They are doing a couple of other projects for us and we are thrilled with their work. read more

I've used Juan's services twice on a 1 year period of time. The first time was to remove terrible texture that was on our condos walls. The work he did made it look like a totally different condo. He then did a magnificent job of making sire we selected the right paint to contrast with the ceiling paint. It looked amazing. He also made sure we added recessed lighting to help get more light in out place. Worked out better than we had hoped. Lastly he painted out kitchen cabinets. The painting of the cabinets made it look completely different in an excellent way. A month ago we bought a new home and wanted to make changes. For one he redid our ceiling texture, repainted our house, and painted our cabinets. I can't stress enough how different our place looks. Ceiling texture looks great, the paint gives tge house better lighting, and the cabinets look like new. You don't bring someone back if they don't do excellent work. Juan did two jobs for me this year. Both of the jobs came out very nice. The first job was to repair drywalls after re-pipping a house in Concord. After he finished, I really couldn't tell the walls have been repaired and painted. The second job was to paint the interior walls for a Discovery Bay House. It also came out very nice, too. Final Update: It's never a good feeling giving a negative review but ... I had tried to give this contractor/handyman another chance as that is what he asked. I agreed to reschedule for Juan Jarquin to come by and start the job on 7/17-7/18. He texted me on Wed 7/14 and confirmed he will be coming to do the job on Saturday 7/17 and also requested to come by on Friday at 330pm to take confirmed measurements of the project to be done for my kitchen island. I agreed. Come Friday at 332pm, I received a text from Juan stating he is unable to come through but requested for the photo again and confirmed type of design. Friday evening at around 659pm, we were still discussing materials available at Home Depot, Lowe's. It's now Saturday morning, he was scheduled to arrive at 8am, I received a text from Juan at 716am stating he has headaches and is unable to come and do the job. He said he can come tomorrow, Sunday 7/18 at 830am. Now Sunday, not here yet at 830am. I texted him and no response. I texted again at 902am and informed him that I guess he is no longer coming to do the job but to take care. He responded back right after at 906am and said he is on his way. He finally arrived at 10am. He took the measurements and we confirmed everything. He said he has to return some other materials and get the right one for my kitchen island and will be back in or around 45min. I received a text from Juan at 1147am stating his van is broken and is unable to do the job today. He said his mechanic will take van and hopefully be back by Monday. He asked to reschedule "maybe after Tuesday". I texted him back to confirm that it's ok, we will find someone else to do the job but hope he gets his van fixed and to take care. I informed him that his reviews are very consistent on him wanting to constantly reschedule. He said finally texted back again and said he is in the process of removing the bad reviews including mine. He said he doesn't have any problems doing the job but he said all these little things are happening to him that prevent him from doing the job. Ending with my response, in short, I was sorry to hear about his van and hope he gets it fixed, unfortunately this was his second chance to redeem himself (technically 3rd chance because he didn't show up yesterday), and honesty and transparency is what customers deserve from businesses and business owners when they confirm and commit to doing something. So I hope this is a lesson learned. I continuously learn everyday but being honest is within a person's character! read more

Personally I'm always a little hesitant hiring people I don't know for a job in my home but after seeing the reviews for Juan I decided to give it a go. His initial response after requesting a quote was quick. I was looking to get the inside of my house painted along with the baseboard.
