I came here for the second time yesterday with some friends. The staff were polite, kind and helpful. I asked whether certain dishes could be made without dairy and they were very accommodating. My friend got the chile verde plate and I got barbacoa and carnitas tacos. All three meats were flavorful and well prepared. The food tasted fresh and we enjoyed our meal. read more

We were in the Oakdale area and felt like having Mexican food. My shrimp salad had very fresh vegetables and lots of shrimp. They were very generous with the chips and we loved the salsa bar!! Wow this taqueria really took me to flavortown! Everything on the menu looked amazing, and I ended up getting the chicken fajita bowl - sooooo good. The rice was actually so flavorful and all the meats and veggies were cooked perfectly. I also tried some of the quesadilla and woooow was it good. Wow!!! I kept seeing this place on Yelp and decided to finally stop... yea, won't be my last time. The best lengua I have had, super delicious and simple chile relleno, salsa - yummm. I work near this little place and am so glad I found it! I've traveled to town on my time off so I can have a Michelada and they're delicious. I love crispy tacos! Lunch is usually 1 or 2 crispy pastor. The beans and rice are great! The salsa bar is always fresh cold and clean. The service is as quick as can be. The local spots in town cater to students during lunch so just keep that in mind. Kids are always respectful and kind when I've had them swam at lunchtime. The food can be tasty, but DO NOT GET FOOD TO GO! We have several times and our order has been wrong as often as right. Also, they do not cut a to go quesadilla and they are sopping wet and consequently very hard to eat! I won't get food to go again. They messed up my mom's quesadilla that was supposed to be shrimp and would up being carne aside with a little shrimp. It was so wet and the wrong meat that even with a fork and knife she wound up throwing most of it out. And by the way, since we know they have a habit of not cutting to go quesadillas, we asked it to be cut. And it still was not. read more

We had to come to Oakdale to have a special procedure for our pet. While he was being seen we stopped into this little hole in the wall place. There was a small line, but most people getting food to go. We stayed and enjoyed the restaurant. It was true home cooked food. Real quality food and service. I think I saw grandma working the kitchen. Love this place! read more

Sooooo- decided to try this place after refusing to go previously. Walked in years ago and it was humid and sticky- this time, it's chilly- probably because the doors are open- but man is it hoppin' and poppin! They were very busy with a train of pickup/take-out orders. With that- we did wait a bit, but it didn't feel like an eternity. The food was good- and the asada was certainly better than the taco truck across the street. I wish the chips tasted fresher- but they weren't stale (as per other reviews). The horchata was prob the best I've had in a lonnnng time. It has an authentic vibe- nothing special. It's not immaculate- but it's a clean old building. Though you order at the counter- they don't forget you're sitting in the restaurant- and check up on you to make sure you don't need anything else. Will be back. read more

Nice little spot most of the food is decent. But I only eat one thing here now and that's the menudo. Thee best menudo in Oakdale, Modesto or riverbank. Probably best in the 209. Anyone know if menudo is bad for you??? I eat way too much. read more

The food was awesome! Never really been to restaurants in Oakdale, but we were passing thru on way to Yosemite. Found this place using Yelp. I had two tacos and my girlfriend had the Beef enchilada plate. Both dishes were so good ... Highly recommended. 100% recommend. We went in the morning on our way to Yosemite. We ordered a breakfast burrito, grilled shrimp salad, 5 tacos, and a burrito bowl. Great little spot in Oakdale! We had a great early dinner here out on the patio. We had a burrito and marinated chicken fajita bowl. The bowl was filling, but salty. Lots of great flavor, though! Well my prayers were answered. I was given a spicy, very flavorful green salsa. Unmatched to any place I've been. Creamy, spicy, fresh green pepper taste. Make sure you ask for it. Still haven't had a soggy taco yet. The woman in front is very nice and welcoming. This place is the best I've had in this area and the San Jose area. Large menu. The place is very clean. Stopped by this place on our way home from our Yosemite camping trip. I ordered a mix of tacos so that I can taste all. The Pollo Adobado was my favorite, followed by the carnitas (a little fatty, but it had a good crisp and taste to it), then the Al Pastor. That one was probably my least favorite, however it was still good, and my bf really liked it. Staff was really friendly. It's a very casual spot, and I liked it had a small patio for us to sit. It was a hot day, and we had our dog with us, so that allowed us to bring him out of the car and sit with us. We have been here several times and last time we had the chicken nachos, and they where great. Wife loves their diablo sauce on the side of anything she gets. Too spicy for me but she swears by that stuff. Everything I have had has been good, service is great and is a nice little quaint spot right before you get into town. read more

I've always seen this truck on my way to work. I saw the good reviews so I decided to check it out…read more I bought 2 tacos 1 pastor & 1 carnitas. Carnitas cost extra. Tacos came out to $5.50 . Tacos were on 2 small yellow corn tortillas & came with a lime , grilled onions & jalapeno. Also a small salsa . Tacos were kind of dry the salsa helped. The salsa had a great flavor!! There was fat on the carnitas. I liked the pastor more . Flavor wise it was ok , not the best though. Not sure if I'll be back.
