I went for the first time and would not recommend it. The food was subpar, would recommend going elsewhere for authentic food. If you eat inside its sooo hot, uncomfortable and claustrophobic, I cant imagine the employees in the kitchen. Do they follow Heat Illness Prevention guidance my CA law, doubt it. Eating outside would be better, theres a breeze and flow of air even though its hot. Another worker also looked sick and was working, do they pay sick time i dont want someone sick handling my food. Highly unsanitary. OSHA and Health Dept will be hearing from me read more

I came here for the second time yesterday with some friends. The staff were polite, kind and helpful. I asked whether certain dishes could be made without dairy and they were very accommodating. My friend got the chile verde plate and I got barbacoa and carnitas tacos. All three meats were flavorful and well prepared. The food tasted fresh and we enjoyed our meal. read more

Wow this taqueria really took me to flavortown! Everything on the menu looked amazing, and I ended up getting the chicken fajita bowl - sooooo good. The rice was actually so flavorful and all the meats and veggies were cooked perfectly. I also tried some of the quesadilla and woooow was it good. We were in the Oakdale area and felt like having Mexican food. My shrimp salad had very fresh vegetables and lots of shrimp. They were very generous with the chips and we loved the salsa bar!! I really like this place. I often driving through oakdale and pick up dinner here. I want to leave a review because I hope that can give come improving feedback. The most recent time I got a burrito it was so salty it was hard to eat. They need to do some quality control with their meats and the seasoning. I work near this little place and am so glad I found it! I've traveled to town on my time off so I can have a Michelada and they're delicious. I love crispy tacos! Lunch is usually 1 or 2 crispy pastor. The beans and rice are great! The salsa bar is always fresh cold and clean. The service is as quick as can be. The local spots in town cater to students during lunch so just keep that in mind. Kids are always respectful and kind when I've had them swam at lunchtime. Wow!!! I kept seeing this place on Yelp and decided to finally stop... yea, won't be my last time. The best lengua I have had, super delicious and simple chile relleno, salsa - yummm. The food can be tasty, but DO NOT GET FOOD TO GO! We have several times and our order has been wrong as often as right. Also, they do not cut a to go quesadilla and they are sopping wet and consequently very hard to eat! I won't get food to go again. They messed up my mom's quesadilla that was supposed to be shrimp and would up being carne aside with a little shrimp. It was so wet and the wrong meat that even with a fork and knife she wound up throwing most of it out. And by the way, since we know they have a habit of not cutting to go quesadillas, we asked it to be cut. And it still was not. read more

We had to come to Oakdale to have a special procedure for our pet. While he was being seen we stopped into this little hole in the wall place. There was a small line, but most people getting food to go. We stayed and enjoyed the restaurant. It was true home cooked food. Real quality food and service. I think I saw grandma working the kitchen. Love this place! read more

Sooooo- decided to try this place after refusing to go previously. Walked in years ago and it was humid and sticky- this time, it's chilly- probably because the doors are open- but man is it hoppin' and poppin! They were very busy with a train of pickup/take-out orders. With that- we did wait a bit, but it didn't feel like an eternity. The food was good- and the asada was certainly better than the taco truck across the street. I wish the chips tasted fresher- but they weren't stale (as per other reviews). The horchata was prob the best I've had in a lonnnng time. It has an authentic vibe- nothing special. It's not immaculate- but it's a clean old building. Though you order at the counter- they don't forget you're sitting in the restaurant- and check up on you to make sure you don't need anything else. Will be back. read more

100% recommend. We went in the morning on our way to Yosemite. We ordered a breakfast burrito, grilled shrimp salad, 5 tacos, and a burrito bowl. The different types of meat in our dishes were all very flavorful and juicy. The place also has a self salsa bar that had many different salsas along with pickles. The food was awesome! Never really been to restaurants in Oakdale, but we were passing thru on way to Yosemite. Found this place using Yelp. I had two tacos and my girlfriend had the Beef enchilada plate. Both dishes were so good ... Highly recommended. Great little spot in Oakdale! We had a great early dinner here out on the patio. We had a burrito and marinated chicken fajita bowl. The bowl was filling, but salty. Lots of great flavor, though! Jarro Viejo is one of my favorite spots when it comes to fajitas. I always order the mixed fajitas, and they never disappoint. The plate comes with a great combination of seasoned steak, grilled chicken, shrimp, onions, and bell peppers, all cooked just right. It's served with beans and rice and a small salad, and the portion size is very filling -- usually enough to feed both me and my son. The flavors are on point, and you definitely leave satisfied. On top of the food, the customer service is excellent. The staff brings real hospitality and makes you feel appreciated every time you visit. And the price is just right for what you get. Highly recommend this place if you're craving good fajitas and great service. read more

It was 8 o'clock and barely a restaurant was open so they deserve a star just for being open until 10p. I had the crispy beef taco. Nothing special. The beef didn't seem to be seasoned at all. The lettuce was nice and crispy though. One person in our party got the veggie bowl and another got the grilled chicken salad. Both of these were great! The salad was huge so we all got to tasted. The chicken was very well prepared. Everything was way on the mild side so be prepared to add hot sauce and salsa if you like it spicy. They have beer and Coke (bottled in Mexico which is the best Coke) and the restroom was clean. The staff was great too. If we are ever driving thru from Yosemite in the future this will be our stop. read more
