    Great margaritas too

Outstanding Mexican food, the service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. If you're a resident or just passing through don't miss this place.

Combo plate of taco, enchilada and chili rellano.

I chose this place due to a previous review bragging about the salsa. In small town mid America where I am from the salsa taste like whatever the local supplier dumps in a jar and sends to the restaurants so this I had to try. The salsa here tasted homemade and fresh. Chunks of onions and peppers to please the pallet along with a little kick to sting the tongue. Add to it some fresh chips and this place was off to a great start! First time at a New Mexican restaurant I have to go with the standard combination plate. No apples to oranges comparisons but rather taco to taco. And this taco did good! Meaty insides with shredded lettuce and their cheese made it a very good taco. I combined that with a carne asada enchilada with green sauce and a chili rellano also with green sauce. All very tasty! I couldn't stop eating. I kept wanting more. The restaurant is a small one with indoor and outdoor dining. It's along the main drag through town heading up towards Yosemite or the gold country. I was there on a Monday night with few people eating in but a steady stream of to-go orders. There was a bar with a $10 36oz margarita but I passed this time. Wish they had shredded beef but that won't stop me from giving this place a 4 star review. Surprisingly good and glad I went!

    Burrito Supreme w/grilled chicken

First timer and we ordered to go. Total cost for 3 items $60 including tip Burrito supreme x 2 and shrimp plate x1. Our burrito supreme burritos didn't have much going on with it. Both asada and grilled chicken was on the dry side. The rest of the burrito was pretty meh as well and it sucked that the sour cream was at the bottom of my burrito instead of mixed in. Shrimp plate was good however the shrimp was over cook and for the price more rice/beans/salad would be nice.

I liked it! The server was friendly, the place was clean, and the food was tasty. We were driving through and looking for a lunch stop. I chose Cocina Michoacana because I saw they had a vegan menu. I chose the 2 tostadas with beans and my husband chose the 2 tamales, both were on the vegan menu. My sons chose the bean and cheese burritos. The first things we tried were the chips and salsa. The salsa was great. It had flavor and enough heat to be interesting and keep me coming back for more. My tostadas were good. The green salsa over the top was a little lackluster but it wasn't anything the addition of some hot sauce didn't cure. The beans were fantastic! I eat a lot of beans at Mexican restaurants and these were some of the best. My husband was a fan of his tamales and agreed with me about the beans. I can't say it was the best food I've ever had, but the service and the vegan menu won me over. We pass through the area many times a year and I'll definitely stop in again.

We had stopped by the highway, where the view of lush greenery and rolling hills was nice. I approve! It was nice to sit on the patio watching the passing cars, and the tarp above us provided pleasant shade from the sun. My daughter and I shared the Biscuits and Gravy with scrambled eggs and sausages. The homemade biscuits were buttery and flaky--absolutely delicious. My partner and her daughter shared either a skillet or an omelet; I don't quite remember since I didn't take a picture. Regardless, we were all satisfied with our meals and ready to continue our adventure. The service was friendly and efficient. I didn't even get to check out inside the restaurant. Was there an inside? A quick tip: you'll need a key to access the restrooms. I noticed several people walk over only to discover the door was locked, so I made sure to ask for the key. According to their website, this place has a fascinating history--it once served as a miner's supply store before becoming a hotel. I believe there are still rooms available, as I noticed you can reserve cabins with twin and queen beds. While I might not stay in a cabin myself, I would definitely return for the food.

They have a good amount of seating outside as well as inside too. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, Priest Skillet and Kids Pancakes and Fruit. Everything was pretty good and fresh! Coffee was good too! Other menu items included Steak and Eggs, Omelets, a Breakfast Burrito, Pancakes and even French Toast. They had a decent kids menu as well. Staff were also very friendly and personable. Bathrooms needed a key since anyone off the highway can stop in and use them, but they were clean. Overall, Priest Station Cafe is a nice place to stop while on a road trip - the view is worth it! Check them out!

The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. I think they care more about making things look IG worthy, than the quality of the product they are serving.
