For Volvo's they are apparently the "hizzle4shizzle"! However, they should stick to Volvos. After I did not get a call back on my Chrysler that they had fixed 3 times and was still making strange noises. I knew it was time to find a Chrysler mechanic. I did. The guy, Jerry Morris seems to be a straight shooter. We just went here for our 1st time in March 2017 to service our aged and aging Volvo. He diagnosed it, and I think it took a few days for service and about $1,500 or so, and we got the car back with his "thumbs up" approval (not sure if that's a guarantee or not) that the car, other than things related to inherent aging, is in perfect working condition and should not give us any operational issues beyond what's normal wear (like batteries, tires and oil). I'll follow up with another review if things change, since I think we're planning on making Jerry our regular mechanic for the car, and hoping he'll take care of us (or rather the car) commensurate to the trust and respect we are affording him to give us honest advice in our best interests. That's all we ask for in a mechanic. We have a great mechanic for our Mercedes Benz, we just needed to find one locally for our Volvo who is a specialist. read more

I am surprised there aren't more reviews for Morris Motors. I come here for service on my XC60 and I seriously hope that people in the Southbay aren't going to the dealership on PCH! I knew about this plaza b/c I used to get alignments at Johnson's. Morris is pretty convenient to where I work and I can easily drop off my car during the week You can also do early drop off and leave your key in their door. Are Volvo's expensive to maintain? Strong yes, but I guess that would also depend on what kind of car you currently have. I pay about $60 for an oil change here which is what I paid at a drive-thru oil change complete with free, dumb questions about oil filters and oil caps. Seriously, like I know how to answer those things? Even better, the tech at the quick oil place could not even reset my oil light. Annoying! That is prob my main issue with driving a Volvo, sometimes mechanics don't know how to service it appropriately. So I save myself the aggravation and come to Morris Motors. I don't even have to send my husband, I really have no problems with taking my car, picking up & paying here. Jerry is a a non-nonsense kind of guy and he'll pretty much give you every thing straight. He'll let you know which services are due, which you can skip and which you should take care of soon. He also recently helped me with a catalytic converter issue and with his info I got dealership to cover the repair even though they were trying to trick me into paying a 2k estimate. Luckily, I haven't had any severe (out of pocket) issues with my vehicle. It is tough to use the words 'trust' and 'mechanic' in the same sentence, esp. as a female, but Jerry and his team are the real deal. This spot and Jalisco Tires in Gardena are the only two auto service places I highly recommend in the area. I always call for an appt in advance, but call and see what their schedule is like. Unless it is a recall or under warranty, skip the Volvo dealership. read more

I was riding home from work and I noticed my car was driving funny and I realized I had a flat tire. My next thought was: I need to get off this four-lane, busy ass road and get to a safe lot so I can call roadside assistance. I turned into the next parking lot and look up. To my surprise I had turned into a lot of auto repair shops. Jerry was outside and I asked him if they happened to have any tires to replace my flat. He was kind enough to assess my vehicle, inflate my tire and get me back on the road, reassuring me that I didn't need a new tire. The next day I returned to replace my brakes and rotors. His team is very efficient, great communicators and fair pricing. I felt very reassured that my 10+ year old vehicle was in good hands. I'm thankful that God allowed me to run into this shop. The best mechanic! I'll never go to anyone else. They were all respectful and very knowledgeable. They offered to repair my a/c clutch rather than jumping straight to replacing the whole thing, and when that didn't work they only charged me for replacing the clutch. This place has a new owner - a Brazilian master mechanic - Julio. He did a fantastic job on my Volvo XC60 transmission. Very honest and very determined to do the repair properly. After he rebuilt and repaired the solenoid valves on my transmission the car runs like new. I've been testing it for a month now and it's running great. Julio followed up on my testing. The worst. This business destroyed my engine. I'm having to replace my engine after Jerry did a partial rebuild 10 months ago. I reported him to the BAR. He lied about the timing belt snapping a second time because he didn't want to honor a 12 month guarantee. He said the alternator pulley broke. I know because I went straight to the Volvo Dealer from Morris motor and paid to find out why my car stopped in the middle of the street after Jerry fixed it. They said the timing belt was torn. The new timing belt Jerry just put in my car 10 months ago!!! Plus he wanted me to GIVE him the title of my car when I said okay I'll just donate my car to Charity! Imagine that! Give it to him so he can fix it up and sell it no doubt! He's a crook and I think he is having his inexperienced son work on the cars. Besides that, Jerry isn't even a mechanic but give you the impression he is. Serious! Don't go there especially if you are a woman. My car is a classic beauty 2008 convertible 2008 c 70 Volvo. Highly recommend! While visiting my parents, my Volvo XC90 started overheating. I called a couple places that I found on Yelp. Jerry returned my call promptly. We discussed the issue my car was having and he squeezed me into his schedule. I needed to get back home (very long drive) by a certain date. I brought 2 Volvos to the owner Jerry at Morris Motors for a pre-purchase inspection with little notice (maybe 2 hours). When I called Jerry he said there were no technicians (because I misunderstood when he asked me to call an hour in advance), but gladly volunteered to perform the inspections HIMSELF! Not only did this place go above and beyond my wildest expectations, but Jerry actually was able to get technicians after all specifically to look over the cars for me. He actually took the time to call for assistance and it was so unexpected. They took me into the garage and physically showed me where mechanical issues existed and kept it completely honest and straightforward. I would honestly say that having never taken a car to this garage before this inspection, I will, without hesitation, do so again. I didn't end up purchasing the cars because of the accurate feedback of this place. And to top it off he gave me a SUPER great deal to inspect both cars!! I can't write a glowing enough review. I ran out of gas on Hawthorne Blvd, and was lucky enough to pull into the parking lot of this business as my car was giving out. I went to the car repair place across from this business first and even though I could visibly see the gas can in the area where they work on their cars, they refused to help me. Then I went over Morris Motors and boy was I glad that I did. Not only did they gave me the gas, they made sure that my car was pulled into a safe spot. The owner is super sweet! read more

I don't own a Volvo but a Porsche Turbo S, I had a problem with the air in my front right tire loosing air faster than a plane coming out of the sky. I couldn't find a gas station and worse...I couldn't reach AAA, I kept going until I found the automotive strip, in less than 1 mile I went from 38 lbs to 7 soon to be on the rim.. I pulled in and they accommodated me with a mobile air condenser, found out it was a loose stem! They gave me air and off I went!! Lots of Thank You's but not enough, I went back with a wee little gift to show my appreciation. But hear this they Thanked me, lets put this in perspective...they had really helped me, something we JUST don't find anymore. If I owned a Volvo I'd only use them.
