He gave us a very straightforward, no-nonsense estimate and only recommended the work he actually felt was necessary. The price was fair, and that honesty is what made us decide to go with him. There were definitely some challenges along the way, especially with permits in our city. Apparently it is much tougher than others when it comes to permits, and it ended up requiring a lot more paperwork and extra effort than he expected. Even with all that, Cyrus stuck to his original quote and never tried to charge us more, which we really appreciated. Jaime and Jesus handled the installation of the air handler, ductwork, and heat pump. They worked hard, were very respectful of our home, kept things clean, and honestly were much quieter doing the work than I expected considering all the cutting and installation involved. I contacted Air Tech 24 Heating and Air Conditioning and they sent out a technician Jaimie the next morning at 8:00. He arrived promptly and wore boot covers in the house. After diagnosing the problem (bad capacitor at the compressor), he provided a quote and recommendation for a full service which included a check of the HVAC system. We have a Trane HVAC that was installed in 2018 and the service was overdue. We change our filters every 6 months but apparently will need to be changed every 3 months based on registers near the floor. We were very happy with the level of professionalism and the explanation provided by Jaimie. The price was fair for the service provided and we would recommend Air Tech 24. My hvac was leaking water through my ceiling light and when I noticed, it was almost 6 pm. Everyone was closed except Air Tech 24. I called and someone immediately picked up and scheduled an appointment the next morning. Jaime came within the time frame (towards the end but still on time) and immediately found the issue. He gave recommendations like a secondary safety value. Quote for that was $250. I remember another company once quoted me $289 so I knew the prices he quoted were reasonable. I agreed and he immediately went to work and finished everything under an hour. He cleaned up my leak, took out the wet insulation and gave tips. I liked how he didn't try to upsell me on non-urgent issues but made me aware of them. He also changed my filter which I had on hand. I don't typically leave reviews but Cyrus and his crew were exceptional. Our 13 year old AC unit was barely functioning. He very carefully explained the situation. Old equipment, new regulations on refrigerant, advances in technology (heat pump). Repairing the old system would be costly and potentially only a short term fix before the system would absolutely need to be replaced. We were skeptical and said we'd think about it. I ran all of this through ChatGPT and it convincingly confirmed each assertion and endorsed Cyrus' recommendation to just replace the old system now with a modern system. Cyrus is very honest and reliable. I hired him for a second opinion for my furnace as it doesn't turn on. A handyman told me the fuse need to be replaced while he came to fix other things. He didn't install new fuse. I wanted to get estimate from pro and this company from Santa Monica, they have great reviews though) even didn't turn the unit on while he knows the unit needs new fuse but told me control board and other things need to be replaced and gave me $1500 estimate. I wanted to get second opinion and Cyrus checked the unit and install the fuse and it started working again. He told me the unit is old and there's few options if the unit completely stops. So basically the unit just needed a new fuse for now. The other company tried to convince me to do something not necessary at this moment even without turning it on, but Cyrus just showed me what's really going on and gave me options which does make sense. Let me start by stating that I'm the type of person that almost never writes reviews, unless my experience has been exceptionally bad or exceptionally good...and even then I rarely take the time to sit down and write about my experience. I am also what I would consider on the reserved side when it comes to getting excited about things, especially household projects, LOL. But I AM a big fan of my A/C, and even living here in the South Bay, my house can get quite toasty, especially on the second floor...not to mention how stuffy it can get during the spring/summer months. I knew our 30+-year-old A/C unit was not only looking ragged, but also sounding like it was on its last leg, as well...which it was. We had waited for what seems like an eternity for two different contractors to get back to us about getting the entire A/C system replaced/upgraded, since it was not only high time, but because the old type of coolant is now obsolete, and we also wanted a dual zone (upstairs/downstairs) system to keep things comfortable on both floors. After waiting and getting no response from both of the aforementioned companies (to be fair, one did give us a quote, but after asking to be put on the schedule to do the work, they completely ghosted us), one day the A/C sputtered its last anguished cry and died (and of course, in the middle of a mini heat wave). More calls to the A/C companies went unanswered, so i Yelped around and found Air Tech 24 and gave them a call. The woman I spoke to couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, and she had a guy dispatched to my place within 90 minutes! Jaime was so kind, polite, courteous and knowledgeable about all things HVAC. He explained all of our options clearly and answered all of our questions about everything. He wrote up an estimate that included various options, and the price was actually thousands of dollars less than what the other contractor quoted us, even though the other contractor wasn't going to replace our old furnace, and Air Tech 24 included the furnace replacement in their quote. The other contractor also had told us that the project (not including the furnace replacement) would take 5 days...Air Tech 24 quoted us 2.5 days. Which leads me to my first kudo: the project took exactly 2.5 days, just as they quoted...AND we had asked for an extra feature that wasn't included in the original quote, and they still finished in 2.5 days! Another BIG pet peeve of mine is when contractors don't show up on time/as promised. Jaime and Alex were here on the dot every single morning, like clockwork. They were super respectful of our property and laid down dropcloths to cover the stairs and any place where they needed to walk. Our old (giant) condenser was installed on the roof of our two-story house, so it wasn't the most convenient location to service, plus you have to walk through the master bedroom out onto the second story deck and then use a ladder just to access the condenser...but Jaime and Alex made sure our carpet remained clean and covered. Also, due to the condenser location, a crane had to be hired to remove the old condenser and install the new condenser...Cyrus was very organized about hiring the crane (for example, he looked up what day the street sweeping was scheduled for our street, and scheduled the crane for that day, since the street would be devoid of cars that might block the crane). Seeing a crane dangling hundreds of pounds of equipment over your house is not for the faint of heart, but everything went off without a hitch and the crane was done and gone in less than an hour (which is also great since they charge by the hour). I feel like every project, especially home-related projects, always has some sort of "gotcha" where something doesn't go as expected, but I can't think of a single "surprise" that came up in this entire project, which is unheard of! Jaime even took a great amount of photos (while still managing to get all of the work done on time!) to share with us and show us all of the work. Just absolutely amazed at how smoothly the project went...and 2.5 days later, we had new heat and A/C flowing in our house again...and both floors are now perfectly comfortable! All of the equipment they recommended/installed is high quality (my husband Googled it, LOL). And finally, the invoicing process was super straightforward and easy, as well. Cyrus emails the (very professionally done) invoices and is clear about how much is owed, and when. He even came to the job site twice to check on everything himself before taking the final payment. I really can't say enough about Cyrus, Jaime and Alex...just a superb team all the way around. It's not like they were just good on a couple of levels...they literally checked every single box when it comes to pricing, customer service, industry knowledge, and competency.
