My daughter was born a month premature and had jaundice. Dr. Gill released her from the hospital despite this and said to wait a week for a check up. After a day she was more yellow so I brought her in the office. Dr. Gill said she was fine, but agreed to a blood test because I pushed for it. Turns out my daughter's jaundice had become so severe she was nearly to the point of brain damage. She had to be admitted to the hospital immediately. Thanks goodness my husband and I caught it in time. I have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and stick it out. My daughter is 10 months old and I can't take it any longer. Every time I go, they never change out the paper on the patient table (I've seen pencil marks from the child there before me) or on the weighing station, she is rough with my girl and quick to prescribe medicine instead of investigating the problem. Dr. Gill acts like we are naive parents. She always begs me to refer any parents to her. That is not a good sign. I've always wondered why it's so easy to get an appointment and there is virtually no wait time. Now I understand why! Save your children and find a better doctor! read more

I had Dr Gill for my kid but quickly switched because she was more concerned about billing and how we were going to pay rather than childcare itself. Not a good sign. I understand that clinics are also a business. We have insurance and even if we didnt, we could pay out of pocket. BUSINESS TIP: It is better to have the staff to ask questions about payment rather than the doctor asking. I was referred to Dr. Gill by my OB after delivering my baby. Her staff is not friendly and always so serious to the point where it's awkward and uncomfortable. The office is always empty and I never seen any other patients there in the three times I visited. They're always willing to reschedule and are never booked. RED FLAG! We have really appreciated having Dr. Gill as our children's pediatrician. At four months our first child contracted RSV, which at that age can be very serious. While he was admitted to the hospital for a week-long recovery, Dr. Gill visited regularly and kept up to speed with his status. From a healthcare standpoint Dr Gill is very conservative. She does like to see the child for every interaction - e.g., no medical advice is dispensed over the phone. While this can be cumbersome sometimes it does come from a heart that ultimately is putting the welfare of the child first. Another example was the RSV case, where she had us stay in the hospital an extra day longer than we would have liked. In the end while we didn't think it was necessary, we took that course of action as we knew it made sense and was the safest choice for our child. There were other times when she has delayed immunizations due to illness, which we found acceptable in spite of the fact it meant a return trip to the office. We have two kids now and have entrusted them to Dr. Gill's care since they were born. She has demonstrated care for my kids time and time again, and has certainly earned my respect as a pediatrician. read more

She seems very nice, I was pleased to have her as my pediatrician in the hospital where I delivered, but her office is another story entirely. I waited over an hour in this disgusting dirty office, there were crumbs on the chairs in the checkup rooms (meaning no one had cleaned since some toddlers or germy children had used them... ) the front desk gal wasn't very nice, but then she wasn't exactly mean.. it's just.. I did not feel welcome. And it was SO dirty. I mean horribly disgusting. Every rooms chairs and the table should be washed after every kid puts their hands on it, and the floors should be cleaned at night. I highly doubt that was ever done. I looked for some paper towels and some kind of sanitizer in the room to wipe down the chairs before I sat down, but I could find nothing. I didnt want to bring something home to my newborn, so I just stood... for ONE HOUR... while I waited. she is VERY nice and on call ALL the time. But her office is a disgusting mess and I could not justify the wait time and the dirty office, so I ended up switching to a new pediatrician :( She is also in my OBs office complex which I loved, but again.. it was a long and disgustingly dirty experience with a front staff that did not make me feel comfortable. read more

DONT DO IT!!! I was an idiot and trusted my Ins to tell me who had a 5 star rating and they offered this dr, (I found out it was a 5 star because it was only 1 vote!) I can't go into detail but I gave her a second chance and I left more heater than the first. One of the things she did was jab my 1.5 year old in the mouth with a popsicle stick to check her throat because my toddler was scared and moving she got VERY obviously irritated and ended up hurting my girls mouth. My first visit the first words when she walked in was "why are you changing the baby in here that's why we have a bathroom??" Hello the beds have paper! She knows nothing(she really had no straight answers and asked me what I thought it was and what I wanted her to prescribe and what tests I wanted to do which normally is nice but not when no questions were answered! She has NO personality for kids, nor patience, only examines what you tell her to like you're the dr, doesn't like answering questions maybe because she doesn't honestly know, rushes you out of the room as soon as she's done makes you feel like there's a fire and you must QUICKLY get out of the room, I have no idea how she still has a license. Lucky for me, my two siblings and myself see Dr. Gil. Therefore, this review is on behalf of 3 of her patients! The following review reflects this last time I had my appointment with Dr. Gil, which was yesterday on May 16, 2017: OFFICE STAFF Two nurses were at the front desk, and there weren't any patients in the waiting room. I forgot my Insurance Card and she was able to immediately look up the one I gave her last time, from my HPV shot. EVEN her office staff is SHARP, which I haven't had at other offices! I was ready to go through the headache of explaining how she can look up my insurance with my social security and even get it from the information I gave her the last time I was there. OMG, other primary care doctor's staff seem CLUELESS as to what to do when the patient doesn't have their INSURANCE CARD. Imagine them during a fire! Maybe, I've just had really bad experiences and shopping around for a primary office and staff I like, has been unsuccessful. Everything was taken care of before I sat down, easy and painlessly! Her nurse is super kind and informative and there were 2 in her office, even though I was the only patient there! Part of me, feels like Dr. Gil and the 2 nurses waited for me and skipped lunch, which I more than greatly appreciate! WAITING ROOM It is a small area, but is not claustrophobic. It is neat, presentable, welcoming, and CLEAN! There are enough seats, given the small place, and there is a open space to freely walk around without falling or stepping on toys, which is hard in a pediatrician's office! Her chairs are comfortable, and she has beautiful artwork on her walls (usually not into art, like AT ALL) I was called in right away. Has anyone noticed that at some doctor's offices even though, you're the only one there, it takes FOREVER to just get into the exam room? And then wait longer in the EXAM ROOM? Not at Dr. Gil's in all 3 times I've been there! EXAM ROOM I was immediately reminded of how I'm in a pediatrician's office with the small chairs and brightly painted walls. This made me laugh to myself, but I appreciated the Doctor so much, so it made sense! This exam room was clean and roomy enough. I felt comfortable and sterile in this room. I hear a poor little baby crying in the other room, so I was expecting and understandably so, to wait an extra 10 minutes, or so, for Dr. Gil to attend to the baby. Nope! She was able to see me quickly after! I waited maybe 5 minutes total in the Exam Room. DOCTOR Dr. Gil checked my heart, lungs, and abdomen, and ALWAYS asked before examining me, for permission to check me, which can be invasive for someone, even IF a Doctor, to lift up your shirt and immediately place the stethoscope on your chest. Not Dr. Gil she was so gentle and respectful of conducting her exam. For once I felt dignified, which one particular male Dr. I had, did not, even my other female doctor (nurse practitioner actually), would just go right in without asking. I told her about my asthma and how it's been hard for me to breathe, that other nurse practitioner I mentioned earlier, would make a funny face when I would tell her my symptoms (I can't breathe sounds pretty serious enough). Dr. Gil even went further than any other one of my doctor's had ever! She checked my oxygen level, WOW! Again amazed at her attentiveness. I told her my story about finding a primary care doctor, and she told me not to worry that she'd be my primary care doctor. That made me more than happy, but the gift of relief of quality care, really makes me absolutely happy and carefree. She gave me an actual diagnosis, instead of "seasonal allergies," which I always get from other doctor's. I had sinusitis, she prescribed me an inhaler, even gave me a coupon for it, azithromycin, and a steroid. All the symptoms that were concerning me, she actually treated with useable and purposeful prescriptions! When I was exiting the exam room, Dr. Gil's two nurses were out for lunch, and Dr. Gil made my follow-up appointment herself, instead of saying to call in and make one. She also gave me a doctor's note I asked for, for my brother, who had seen her the day before, for the same thing! By the time I left, I was able to start my day and begin my work day, with an actual diagnosis, medicine I can use, and what I've been longing for a QUALITY care PRIMARY DOCTOR. All in a 30-minute hassle free visit! I am already feeling better and it's only my 2nd day on the medicine! I'll keep seeing her until I have my own kids, and we can get seen together! That's saying a lot since our family already has a designated pediatrician who I've seen since 1991 (as well as my brother and sister who are 12 and 14), and an office staff I love, adore, and grew up with! I have been going to Dr. Gill for as long as I can remember, and she has been my primary doctor for over a decade. I have had absolutely no issues with being in her care. Dr. Gill & her staff are great at what they do. Anytime I have been sick, I have always left with a prescription for medicine that helps me feel better within hours. Honestly worst experience I've ever had with a ped. Please do not take your child here! Prescribed my 9 mo antibiotics for an ear infection that she didn't even have. Took her to the ER second day of antibiotics due to excessive vomiting and diarrhea turns out her antibiotic dose was very high and the ER Dr. Said he didn't see any sign of an ear infection! She is very rude and awkward, doesn't listen or seem to care. I felt rushed the entire appointment and she flat out told me she had to go and couldn't talk. The receptionists and dr assistants that work there seem to feel the same way about he. The whole experience was awkward and uncomfortable. Can't believe this women is in business. When we had private insurance, she seemed very nice and attentive; when we took my baby to her office for 1 month checkup, we felt she cared about the baby. We thought the bad reviews on Yelp were not 100% true. Today, we took our baby for 2 month check up. We switched our insurance to Medical which the staff made sure to us that Dr.Gill takes. They even called me three times to confirm the appointment. However, Dr. Gill's attitude just changed 180 degrees when she realized we are on Medical. I mean, we can clearly feel the huge difference. She didn't even care about our baby's cough, baby's eye infection problem. Billing & payment was the ONLY thing she talked about. Seriously, She even denied to give my baby vaccination because she stated she can "only get a little from the government"! Really?!! Honestly, we don't give a shit about how much you can get from the insurance. If you don't like Medical, why did you even schedule us? Why did your staff said you take medical? And the staff, they didn't even look at us when we leave, (last time, they were very nice to schedule next appointment) the whole office wanted to make us feel ashamed to have Medical. Terrible! Made an appointment specifying exactly why i was making the appointment and what it was for. The staff informed me that she could do this for us and informed us of the charges and the extra charge to sign the letter i needed. My child is healthy and has had regular check ups in our old county. Went here for her to tell me my child is healthy and she could not sign my letter. DON'T EVEN BOTHER!!! I understand that due to Covid there are regulations/restrictions they have to follow. But, for them to refuse to see you is just wrong. I am a new mother and my daughter has eczema so I just found out FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR. I didn't know what was going on with my daughter wasn't sure if it was a rash or eczema I was trying everything possible nothing was working. I called to try to see if I can take her in and they said, "NO, we can do a phone consultation with the doctor." I said, "okay thats fine." The doctors calls and I tell her whats going on and let her know what is going on that sometimes what I do works sometimes it doesn't. So her response is, "just continue doing what you're doing" like really I don't even know what is going on with my daughter like you can't diagnose her. So with that being said I found another doctor who was willing to see me right away and then I had to see a dermatologist because she ended up having eczema and it was SERVE thanks to this doctors office not willing to see my daughter. My poor daughter now has patches from this eczema. As said in previous post if you were referred/assigned to this doctor by Huntington hospital ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSE. read more

This doc is all about money. She first pushed me to get Blue Cross PPO for my kids. After only two visits for regular infant check ups, I started to receive bills after bill that adde up over $2,000. That is not even counting the claims she sent to the insurance company. I asked her office and insurance to provide itemized bills. I learned they do not match. Apparently, Dr. Gill was trying to bill insuance for some tests she never performed on my kids. After confronting her office staff, the bills stopped coming. My son became VERY sick this Saturday that just passed. My son's primary Doctor was not in. But Dr. Gill was the only Doctor in this Saturday. From what my son's primary Doctor has explained is that the Doctors have agreed to see other Doctors patients if their primary Doctor is not in on that day. It has happened more than once that I've taken my son in to the clinic when his primary Doctor is not there. These visits have been with Dr. Gonzalez and she has been great with my son. She has treated him with great care and isn't concerned that my son is not a regular patient of hers. I called in that Saturday morning as soon as they opened @9 and asked if I could come in. They said yes. I was the only one in the waiting room and an hour later I was still in the waiting room with now many patients waiting as well. I saw everyone get called in before my son. When I was finally called in to a room, I continued to wait there for an additional 30 minutes. At this point my 16 month old was even more sick, sleepy, hungry, and possibly running a fever again and I had his medicine at home. My son was coughing up a storm and crying. At this time I heard Dr. Gill talking to a nurse right outside the room. Dr. Gill asked who was in that room (my room) and the nurse said who I was. Dr. Gill asked if I was the "other Doctors patient" and her nurse said yes. Dr. Gill then said "oh no, I'm not seeing her until I see all my patients first. So she can wait' I was so frustrated I thought of leaving many times. But my son was so sick I really wanted him checked out and didn't want to wait until Monday and I wanted to avoid the emergency room. But I was beginning to think that the emergency might have been quicker since it was a Saturday morning. But I had waited so long I stuck it out. When Dr. Gill did finally see my son she saw him for no more than 2 minutes. She immediately TOLD me to take the food out of my son's mouth because she was going to check his mouth. Can you believe that? I mean helloooo my son is not a robot, he's been waiting for a long time and now he is hungry! She was in such a hurry that she put a plastic strip under his armpit to take his temperature, my son went home with that strip under his armpit. She never took his temperature. Since she was in such a hurry and she obviously didn't want to see my son because he wasn't her patient I didn't trust her diagnosis. I brought my son in to his primary Doctor first thing Monday. The bottom line is the following: she agreed over the phone that she would see my son. Once she agreed she should have treated my son like any other patient. And most importantly, I'm sure this Doctor has no heart and does not like children. How could she be so concerned that my son was not her regular patient when she is seeing and hearing my baby and he is obviously sick? That's just cold and heartless. Not a very good doctor. It sucks that she didn't give shots. She referred me to a place where they give shots but they rather take people with no insurance. She told me to tell them that I don't have insurance and that it would be free. The place where she referred me to say they did take patients with no insurance but they charge $15 to $20 for shots per person. Why would I pay for shots when my kids have insurance that pays for it. And the place told me that they prefer to take people with no insurance because they only have limited if shots. So my daughter and son are behind their shot because of it. Finally found them a new doctor after my daughters blood test and she ended up having high cholesterol instead of giving me advice and prescribe her something she tries to sell me vitamins. I came to Dr Gil as a teenager a few years back when she took over my old doctors office, Dr. Deputy. I was not impressed at all, she was bad at communicating, there was a cultural/language barrier. I went in for a bad flu and instead of helping that she saw that I had a breakout as normal teenagers do and immediately prescribed epiduo gel which I did not need. She also took all of Dr. Deputy's records to her new office. This included all of my siblings and my medical records since we were all born. She didn't even call or anything to tell us that she had all of our records. Her office eventually destroyed them all and I was not even aware for a few years after she took them. I now do not have access to any of my records. I tried calling this summer about it and the girls who answered the phone were rude and unhelpful, didn't even call back after I asked to call if they found my records. Dr. Gill became our pediatrician when our second child was born. At first I really liked her. She was cautious with immunizations and was very encouraging of me as a parent. Over the last year, I have come to like visiting her office less and less. Many doctors I have seen have worked with me to help me save money (as in they will check to see if there is a generic for a prescription before they write it or they do things in a way mindful of how insurance will bill it). Dr. Gill is not like this. After routine lab work for well visits, she insisted that I bring the girls back in for a follow up visit to get the results (all normal). Another time both girls had a test run. I only took one with me to the appointment to get the results (I didn't want to take my older daughter out of school for this). Dr. Gill asked me to pay two co-pays (one for each child) since we were discussing both children. The "discussing" involved her telling me that their lab results were normal. She has been impatient with both of my children when they have not cooperated immediately with exams. The last time I took my youngest in was the first time we had been there for a sick visit. My 14 month old daughter was suffering from a stomach bug and an ear infection. My daughter was never weighed, measured, or examined in any way until I insisted upon it. I asked the nurse to take her temperature. The nurse asked me to do it so she wouldn't have to touch her, saying "I have two kids at home." Dr. Gill did nothing to examine her until I said, "I think her ear is bothering her." At this point she asked me to put my 14 month old on a high stool so she could "examine her easier." When Dr. Gill looked in the ear that was bothering her, she cried and pulled away, obviously in pain. Dr. Gill showed no compassion, only frustration that my one year old was making things difficult for her. On at least two occasions, Dr. Gill has instructed me to do things that go against AAP guidelines and would have endangered my child. On this last visit she told me to stop breastfeeding my 14 month old until she was over her stomach bug. Other things to consider: there are no sinks in the exam rooms, nor did I see hand sanitizer dispensers readily available. Dr. Gill is so cautious with immunizations that I almost had to beg her to give them to my daughter. I strongly suggest choosing a different pediatrician. read more

Dr. Gill is the best pediatrician I have seen in 24 years. I was referred to her by a doctor, and I am very happy having her as my youngest daughter's pediatrician. She is so good that even my son who is now 19 years old adopted her as his doctor. She is very reliable, and is always there for the children. I wish I had meet her before.
