Doctor Pham is one of the best pediatric allergists in the area. We have BlueCross PPO and glad he was in-network for our insurance. Both of our boys started to develop symptoms at a very young age, and Dr. Pham taught us so much about allergens and helped us how to avoid them and counter them as well. I already raved about Dr. Pham and Jasmine, but Maria from his team was also so wonderful to work with every single visit I've come in for. She was genial, told me about different payment options their office offered, helped me fully understand the allergy skin test as she prepped me, and was a true pleasure to work with!! The whole office is really great and super friendly. I also love how covid-safe it is with the spaced out seating in the waiting room, how they wait for rooms to air out between patients, and how they require masks. The moment you walk in, if you have an appointment, you are taken in immediately. If only all trips to the doctor were as timely. I was referred to Dr. Pham by my dermatologist. The girls at the front desk were very nice and I was able to make an appt. to be seen the next day. Dr Pham was very nice, answered all my questions and ordered tests needed. Best allergist out there. He's very thorough and kind. He cares about his patients. My first appointment was a good 45 minutes. He's really trying to solve your allergy problems not just cover up the symptoms. He gives you his cell phone in case you have to reach him. You can tell he cares. The office is always packed but you don't wait. I'm 40 and have had allergies just seem to come on and you can tell he is generally trying to figure it out. I wasn't able to do the skin test as I was on antihistamines so he ordered the blood tests right away. Great doctor. Highly recommend. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Pham for my allergy for 16 years. He is a great doctor - very professional, patient and considerate. My allergy is rather severe. Though I have been paying attention to what I eat, it still gets bad occasionally. When that happens, I call Dr. Pham and he always takes care of me immediately instead of letting me wait. I honestly think Dr. Pham saved my daughter's life. He is amazing, responsive, detailed, and honest. His office is not anything fancy but he is very good at diagnosing and as a father he understands and is sensitive to children with allergies living as normal a life as possible. He has never push our concerns aside saying "oh it's just a cold" like my daughter's initial pediatric office ---- he knows a simple cold can lead to mucus filling the lungs of my dd. He is not an alarmist but will also not hold any punches in telling you for example that you need to consider removing triggers from the home environment (i.e. opts for hardwood floors over carpet, not having pets or having hypoallergenic dogs - which he explains there are not but gives some hope). I wish he took all insurance but other than that he is PERFECTION in a doctor! read more

My wife was Dr. Pham's patient eight or nine year's ago. Three times she had serious respiratory reactions after receiving allergy shots in spite of sitting in his office twenty minutes to make sure the shot site didn't swell up. She had a delayed reaction driving home and couldn't breathe. Dr. Pham lectured us that it was impossible; insisted the shots weren't the cause. Needless to say, she found another allergist. Since then, every allergist and doctor we've consulted assured us it was the shots. Either she was given too high of a dose than she could tolerate, or, she reacted to the preservatives in the mix. That delayed respiratory reactions can occur in some ultra-sensitive patients, and great diligence must be given. If you're someone with mild allergies, I guess he's a great doctor, but for someone like my wife, who cannot leave home without an Epi-Pen, Orapred and Benadryl, a doctor's awards aren't going to stop a life-threatening reaction. read more

My daughters and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful, caring and knowledgeable allergist, Dr. Pham. He is so positive, cheerful and confident of his abilities. My first child had severe food allergies at 15 months and my 2nd one developed food allergies at 6 months. He was so thorough with the skin testing, making sure not to subject them to any unnecessary pricks or testing. He is so kind and funny with the kids, singing silly songs, making check-ups fun, and calling my daughters "princesses" which they love. My 4-yr old shouts "hooray!" and runs to the car when I say we are going to Dr. Pham's. He is now also helping ME with starting allergy shots for environmental pollen and a new diagnosis of asthma. He is so careful with my girls, who have severe egg allergies. When I bring the flu and MMR vaccines which contain egg to him, he is very conservative with breaking up the injections into several doses and coming back often to check their breathing and skin reactions. I have paged him a few times regarding an unexpected food allergy reaction and he calls me back immediately and is on the phone with me however long it takes to make sure we are OK. Everyone we know who lives in Pasadena and surrounding cities who have food or environmental allergies goes to see him - both adults and children. His waiting room is always packed (but most are for allergy shots) which is a good sign that his patients love him and keep coming back to see him. read more

Highly recommended specialist for both adult and pediatric. Great bedside manner, detail oriented comprehensive lifestyle consultation, medications only when needed. Love his humanistic approach. Office is located across from Methodist Hospital in a medical plaza. Tighter waiting room than some but the minimal wait is worth it. A separate children's waiting room with TV and books. Staff are child friendly and courteous. PERSONALLY: Emergency visits were scheduled on the spot even when the office was to close because Dr.Pham cares and stayed for us which we are grateful for several times already instead redirect us to ER, professionalism to his trade. I was referred to Dr. Pham from my urgent care Dr. because I kept getting sinus infections and needed to figure out the cause. From my first office visit Dr Pham was extremely patient with all my questions and pulled up a chart and walked me through why I'm prone to sinus infections. He went into detail about how the cells attack and how antihistamines work. I was very impressed and actually understood thanks to his lamen terms. What I really enjoyed was that I felt like he genuinely cared and didn't rush through our appointment. I began getting tested for environmental and food allergies and every visit Dr Pham was consistent with his great bed side manners and sense of humor. Now that we figured out what I'm allergic to, I'm going in for my allergy shots and the staff is just as awesome! They are so nice and friendly. Even on half days I've there after closing hours because of my many questions they are still super nice. No dirty looks or attitude that i would get from a lot of other places. I may see Dr Pham in passing and he'll come by and say hi. It's so nice to know your Dr. remembers you and your name. Other Dr's I've visited I feel like they only see me as a number, don't remember me, or my issues so it's a breath of fresh air that Dr. Pham doesn't have to look at my file to remember who I am. Dr Pham is a GEM. I like to know as much as possible when it comes to the health of my children...and that entails LOTS of questions. Dr Pham is incredibly patient, very thorough and has taken time into his lunch and closing hours to speak to me. He's an amazing physician, as apparent by his many awards (America's Top 100 Physicians to name one), but he is amazing with his patients, which I believe is equally as important. My kids just warmed up to him right away. When they are nervous about needles, he calms and reassures them that all will be well. And the kicker...it works! The transformation has been huge with my children, who suffer(ed) terribly. I am so thankful to have been referred to him! I saw Dr Pham today and had a great experience with him. I had been waking up with hives on my arms and legs for the past week and a half and called in for an appointment and Dr. Pham was able to squeeze me in despite me being a new patient. Dr. Pham was extremely personable and was not over-bearing nor did he seem detached like many other health professionals I have encountered. He was very accommodating and took the time to listen to everything that has happened while taking down my medical history. He is efficient and really shows he cares for his patients. He has his after hours number posted everywhere. His explanations for treatment were thorough. He did a great job educating me about allergy triggers and how my body reacts to it. I think it is also good to note that all patients will react to medications differently and that with any type of procedure there can be risks. I had a bad experience with Dr. Pham almost ten years ago. At the time I had just changed health plans and my new provider took a few days to register me as a member. When Dr. Pham's office made me aware of the problem, I gave them a check for the full series of tests. We agreed that the check was to be cashed only in case my insurance continued not to recognize me - otherwise the office would just bill my insurance, as they did with other patients. To make a long story short, many months later, this large check was cashed even after Dr. Pham had been paid in full by my insurance company. It took several weeks to resolve the problem, during which time I was lied to or misled by staff, hung up on by Dr. Pham, and generally given the run-around. I wonder if Dr. Pham needed the extra money to pay his rent. I had to contact the state medical board (on the advice of a lawyer) to get my money back. I never received an apology, nor compensation for the overdraft fees assessed by my bank. I am glad that Yelp exists, so I can finally get this off my back. It was a horrible experience. As for the quality of the medical care, it was OK but not great. We were looking for something subtle and didn't find it - i.e. what could I cut out of my diet to stop having headaches. I was expecting too much. But I didn't feel that the staff engaged with my questions and curiosity. read more
