Nice place with good people, dining area clean and bright. Very limited menu, basically gyros and sausage sandwiches as well as baked goods. The large hero comes on a freshly baked bun and is very good. Sausage sandwich is very large more than one person would eat for lunch, but very good as well. Simply delicious. I've heard such great things about Jasmins for YEARS and I finally made it over for lunch. We went a little later in the day around 1:30 and there was no line which I've been told is unheard of. Took a while for us to place our order but after we did our food was out in about 10 min. We got a big sandwich ( that's how your order here...small or big sandwich...) and a couple bags of chips. The sandwich bread was nice and soft, flavor is simple yet full. The fillings were meat similar to that of a gyro, a sauce similar to tzatziki, lettuce, onions, and tomato. Simple yet delicious. The shop itself is quaint with a service counter and a small seating area. There's also a covered outdoor seating area. Okay this is a hidden gem that I didn't know about! Shame on me. I swear very seldom I can eat something and be totally speechless for a good 4-5mins. The Lamb sausage sandwich with Freshly baked bread stopped me in my tracks and I think I felt the need to tear up. I think it was $6-7 for the sandwich we got. Got to chat with the person working at the counter super friendly Bosnian guy and told us to come back again and try other stuff which I am going to. Yum, I could pick up bread daily from this place!!! It is crispy and flaky on the outside and deliciousness on the inside. If you can get it before 10 a.m., it may even still be warm and that is the best!! I use the large loaf for making my cheesesteaks, and they are perfect! When it is available, the baklava, danishes, croissants, spinach pastry, and fruit pastries are all top-notch. Now in the last few years, we've tried their sandwiches too. They are delicious, although I haven't tried the sausage. There are a few grocery items and they serve coffee (may be strong or different then American known coffee). I've been to a few other Mediterranean bakeries and groceries, but they were not close to the quality as this one. Also, the dad and the son are are friendly and always remember me. Hidden gem! Only three things on the menu (believe me, they don't need more!). Either a large or small gyro or some kind of sausage sandwich. The large gyro is SO GOOD. The bread is wonderful. They do have quite a few bakery items, but you want to get there early for the baklava (which is delicious). Half the bakery serves as a diner, the other half as a small convenient store. This place is a hidden gem. For only $6 you get a huge flavorful gyro. The meat is seasoned well and the bread is super soft and with the additional lettuce, tomato, onions, and tzatziki sauce, it's a great combination. My only "complaint" is that I could use more onions and tzatziki sauce but that is just my personal preference rather than an actual complaint! I love this place! Can not go wrong woth the big gyro which is served on a large inhouse made roll. I like to get mine with extra sauce. Staff is always nice and wants to make sure your happy. After getting your food be sure to pick up a loaf of bread to take home as tgere is nothing like good fresh made bread. Ginormous gyros and ćevapi filled my tummy after eating sandwiches because they are so good. The Bosnian ćevapi is like a little sausage link that two types of minced meat made into a kebab. The little meat is then placed on a large roll and served with sauces and veggies. Loaves of bread and danishes fill the counter space with little coffee bar and tables to sit and eat. This is a perfect little lunch time spot! Wow! I decided to give this Bosnian place a try after reading a local website's write up. I wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up being very surprised. Upon arrival, tables were full but not to capacity. The line to order was 8 people deep, but it didn't take that long to order. This place is a small grocery store/bakery where you can find all sorts of things. The bakery part has pastries & breads. What makes this place shine are the gyros. If I'm not mistaken this is really called a Kebap Doner(but referred to as the big & small ones here). They also have a sausage type menu item. I can't believe that this place has been around for so long & I haven't heard of it until now. When walking into the place, you wouldn't think it's a restaurant type place. The menu consists of 4 unlabeled pictures. Big one(gyro like but with a bun instead of pita). Small one(gyro like but with a bun instead of pita). A beef burger. A skinless sausage menu item. I decided to go with the big one & a chocolate pastry. You could tell the regulars from the first-timers. I'm curious if it has always been like that or if this recent piece on a local website is causing everyone to try it. It would be really easy to mess this meal up, but it was a perfect lunch! Absolutely perfect! Lamb/beef? mix, iceberg lettuce, white onion, tomato, & some type of white sauce. I'm thinking sour cream. I also sensed garlic & onions in that sauce. On a very busy day with many to-go orders/people waiting could make this chaotic(I'm still almost positive that this other guy ordered a big one that was behind me in line, we were waiting, when the next one came out... he jumped (in a very unapologetic way) in front of me & took it). We had a Nextdoor (another social media app - beware) person claiming that they were not wearing masks and they had no photo evidence. Felt very strongly that they were spreading false rumors. My husband is there as a customer every week and he has never seen them without a mask. So we feel perfectly fine getting our favorite Slavic food from here. Jasmin Bakery is one of the greatest treasures in Louisville. It's a combo bakery/grocery store/diner and every product in their store is great. There are four things on the menu but they don't need anything else because it is all delicious. The prices are unbeatable on the food. You can get a gyro for around four dollars. A GREAT lunch spot for a date or to just meet up with friends. The food is so good because the bread here is incredible. I stop in once a week and pick up a loaf or two. It's cheap and delicious! I really can not stress how their bread has become a part of my everyday life. The two men I have encountered at the store are incredibly kind and care about their customers. They have rounded down prices for me just to be nice. Regardless of that, every time I come in they have a smile and are attentive to customers. The young man working here is especially a joy to be around. It's a very positive and lively place. Came in for a quick lunch on a recommendation from a client. The are only 4 sandwich options available so I went with the small gyro which comes on a tasty house-baked roll topped with tomato, lettuce, white onion and tzatziki sauce. The roll was lightly crusted and soft on the inside, the gyro meat was very flavorful and juicy. I liked that they used homemade tzatziki as it was not overly thick like many bottled sauces and complimented the meat quite nicely. Small seating area off to the side with a bar area to grab a coffee. Service was very friendly and the prices are absurdly low, $16 for three sandwiches and three drinks. read more
