Jasmine Asian Bistro is our go to Chinese restaurant. They prepare very flavorful dishes with high quality ingredients. For a couple years in a row we have ordered on Christmas Day and this year was no exception. Of course the restaurant was packed and they were running behind on orders but these super hero's were getting orders out as fast as they could. The cumin beef was excellent and both cumin spiced and chili spicy. Pineapple chicken was a family favorite for dinner. We ordered rice noodles and a variety of appetizers to go with it. We keep coming back here for a reason and love having Jasmine Asian Bistro as part of our Christmas Day dinner tradition. Even if we have to wait a little longer on the holiday it totally worth it. read more

Ambiance: clean and bright interior, much better than the typical greasy Chinese take out restaurant. Parking lot with plenty of space. Service: fast service. They are not super attentive but they are also not rude like the typical hole in the wall but authentic places. There is a female (owner?manager?) who speaks Chinese and is knowledgeable about true menu, but the Hispanic looking guy working during lunch does not. Food: unfortunately they cater towards the Kentuckian palate. There is a separate Chinese menu from the general menu, but I have tried 4 items on there and all have been rather disappointed. For a restaurant who claims to be Sichuan, their twice cook pork is not pork belly and not twice cooked. It is generic breaded and stir fry pork. Their boiled fish soup didn't have the typical veggies I am used to like wood ear mushroom and bamboo shoots. Overall: better than the typical greasy American Chinese take out joint, but still pretty much generic Chinese American food. Normally this would be a 2 star restaurant but given lack of alternative in the surrounding area it gets 3 stars. Lower your expectation to avoid disappointment. read more

First time dining in here and loved it! Our waiter, Mario, was lovely. He was so sweet and a very attentive server. Everything was so delicious! Our table particularly loved the sesame chicken as our favorite of the entrees we had. Crab rangoons was different than any I have had before and they were delicious!! We ordered green beans, spicy edamame, crab rangoons, tuna tartare sushi, wonton soup, egg drop soup, veggie lo mein, kung pao shrimp, chicken lo mein, sesame chicken, and chicken and broccoli. A tonnn of food. Loved it!!! Only meh item was chicken and broccoli and egg drop soup because it has corn taste, maybe corn actually in it? First time here and there are lessons to be learned. Kung Pao and Pork with rice were awesome! Lesson 1) Order only one appetizer because the portions are huge. Lesson 2) Again, portions are large enough that you could shy away from appetizers all together. Lesson 3) DO NOT ORDER APPETIZERS AND MEALS TOGETHER. The food comes out so fast that they brought our meals out with the appetizers! Who does that?! One star taken away. Order your main course AFTER your appetizers have arrived and then you MIGHT have time to eat before your next course comes out. I'm an unabashed fan of Jasmine Asian Bistro. I placed an order for pickup, including Wonton Soup, Hot & Sour Soup & an Egg Roll to start. Then a beef dish, chicken dish & happy family. Everything was piping hot. And order size was substantial. The hot & sour soup is as good as I've had. Rich, flavorful and mildly spiced. (By request). My wife needed a less spicy broth and the wonton soup fit the bill. The egg roll? Ok, that was my snack for the ride home. Not a bit of grease. Great filling and served nice & hot. The Szechuan beef was with mild spice (as requested) and loaded with veggies. The happy family, also in a brown sauce, was filled with shrimp, chicken, beef and again lots of veggies. The chicken chow mein was a bit of a disappointment, something I wouldn't order again. Relatively flavorless-lots of soy sauce was needed to bring this dish to life. One other thing to note, I requested brown rice. What I got was most likely white rice colored by soy sauce. Better to just provide white rice rather than a lame fake. All in all, Jasmine Bistro has a substantial menu. You're sure to find something that will please. read more

Definitely wasn't bad by any means but also not my favorite Chinese spot I've tried either. Rating was right between 3* and 4* but gave them the bump up. I'm still on the lookout for my favorite Chinese take out spot on the east end close to home though... The food was overall good but nothing was a huge flavor bomb or blew me out of the water. It's priced pretty fairly for the portion sizes we received and I picked it up while still really hot/fresh which was nice. The onion pancake may have been my favorite as not all Chinese restaurants have it on their menu and me trying to make it at home didn't go very well lol. Been wanting to try it somewhere so was happy to see it as an option. The crab rangoons were average/fine but definitely more cream cheese heavy and didn't taste the crab at all. The vegetable lo mein was okay too, would've liked a bit more veggies (as that was the type I ordered) and it needed some sort of sauce too. Just not a whole lot of flavor from the noodles alone. Our general Tso's chicken was good but not great. I know I got it to-go which wouldn't helped some of the crisp but even so the batter was soft right out the gate. Next time I guess I'll need to bump up the spice level too as it was all mainly sweet...But the sauce was solid. The lady working was nice and running around trying to help everyone too. It was 7:30 and almost empty so am not sure if they just do way more takeout now but only 2 groups were sitting in the entire restaurant (With a few pick ups waiting). There's definitely a few other dishes and things I'd like to try (fried rice, dan dan noodles, pad thai) but it won't be a regular spot for me or somewhere I need to go back ASAP... read more

I didn't realize that it's located in the same space that Shane's Rib Shack used to be in. I sound old saying that since it closed down a loooonng time ago. Very pleasantly surprised! I don't know how I had never been here but it is fantastic. Even though they were short staffed for the number of patrons coming in and it was not peak time yet. The two ladies serving and taking orders were flying, my order was promptly taken and my food came out immediately and I noticed the same situation with other tables. The place is fresh, modern and comfortable. I sat at a booth but next time I will choose a table. Booths are weird as you notice the person seated behind you. Seems the backs are thin or the seats are too connected or something. But there are plenty of tables. I foresee this place will be packed soon. The value is great! The flavors are those of a unique family restaurant but the service and experience are flawless. Great location and easy plaza parking. There's something so satisfying about a lunch special from an Asian restaurant. A perfect portion of a dinner entree, side of rice, and option of soup or egg roll (although you can usually add on whichever one you didn't want for a small up-charge). It's no wonder that when I heard about a newer Asian restaurant in town, I couldn't wait to check it out. Located on Like Kiln Lane between US-42 and US-22, Jasmine Asian Bistro offers both spacious indoor dining (although not at the moment due to the 2020 pandemic), as well as speedy carryout. I did exactly the latter on my recent visit there, placing an order for a lunch special for carryout. I placed the order in the restaurant and I think I only had to wait 5 minutes before it was ready. Once I was home, I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portion sizes; I could easily keep half of this to finish for dinner. The flavors didn't disappoint, either. I am a stickler for hot and sour soup (some miss the mark), and this one got it just right. The garlic chicken was very good, as was the egg roll and fried rice (although it seemed to skimp on the tiny vegetables that I love finding in fried rice -- makes me feel less guilty for ordering it!) All in all, Jasmine Asian Bistro is a place I will be going to again when I get the itch for Asian carryout! read more

Yum! Nothing hits the spot like Chinese takeout. This was our first time trying Jasmin Asian Bistro and it was quite tasty. We ordered directly from the Yelp app and it arrived for contactless drop off exactly when the service said it would. Our delivery driver Muhammad texted me to let me know it was on the porch when he arrived. The delivery experience was easy and our food arrived hot and neatly packed. To the food - I appreciate that Jasmin puts effort into creating classic dishes with quality. I've had sweet and sour chicken many times and this was some of the best we've had, aromatic and full of flavor. The sautéed green beans and onions were savory and perfectly done. The crunch munch sushi roll was fresh and light. I like that they have a reasonably priced kid's menu, the kindergartener ate almost all of her teriyaki chicken and broccoli. We will definitely be ordering from Jasmin Asian Bistro again. Based on the pictures on Yelp the interior of the restaurant dine-in space looks trendy and comfortable, looking forward to a sit down meal at Jasmin hopefully later in the year! read more

I've been searching Louisville for delicious eggplant, and as Jasmine Asian Bistro offers eggplant with garlic sauce, I obviously had to try it. My dining companion is a fan of tofu dishes, so chose the Mandarin Tofu. We ordered online for curbside pick up, and the food was ready when promised and smelled amazing on the drive home. The eggplant was... fine. Not bad, but not as flavorful or inspired as I would have wished, especially as the prices are slightly higher than other comparable asian restaurants in the area. My dining companion felt similar about his tofu - okay, but nothing to write home about. Interestingly, rather than the typical steamed white rice our order came with fried rice, and only one portion, rather than two. Overall our meal was acceptable. We ate the food and enjoyed it overall, but there are tastier places that provide better value for the food. My eggplant quest continues. read more

It bring me no joy to write this review. I've visited multiple times recently, since pre-2020 visits. The meat/tofu has been heavily fried, rice tastes off, I've received the wrong order, and that's just the beginning. I kept wanting to change my opinion but it didn't happen. I tried this place one night for sushi, dumplings and hot and sour soup. Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful. My only complaint was the smoked salmon in my sushi was a little tough. The dumplings were delicious and tender. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I've had in Louisville. We'll be back for sure! read more

I ordered this place to go for the 3rd time today. Finally leaving a review ! I'm not sure what the negative reviews I'm seeing are all about because this place was fantastic. I've tried the cumin beef (superb), the peanut butter chicken (great sauce and flavor), the twice cooked fish (delicious), and the pork belly (also great). The food was full of flavor and not the typically sugary tasting cheapo Americanized Chinese that I'm so used to. The flavor was inspiring because it made me realize that there are a lot of new Chinese dishes that I've not experienced. The meats were all very tender and full of flavor. When I picked up my order it was hot and fresh. The lady at the counter was friendly and gave me tips on future orders. I can't speak to service when dining in but I'll update my review if I dine in later. I will certainly be back! read more

I looked to reddit to help fill my cravings today and Jasmine Asian Bistro delivered. Service was extremely pleasant too; granted, I'd still eat there even with poor service because I'm desperate. We ordered: - Beef Maw & Tendon Szechuan - Hot & Pepper Potato Sauteed - Hot & Spicy Chicken - Pork Belly Over MeiCai - Brisket Noodle Soup Pot (spicy) All we're well cooked AND delicious; portions were wonderful for a family of five plus extras for another family meal. They were out of the pea leaf so they made an off menu stir fry vegetable--tasty! The only complaint is we wished the spicy dishes were actually spicy. With the shut down limiting my ability to indulge in one of my hobbies of eating out and trying new restaurants, I have been craving Chinese... Unfortunately, my gotos are closed for the time being.. Dialing for Open Chinese restaurants I landed on Jasmine... Being excited to find an open Chinese restaurant I gladly placed my order... My wife had Prok Fried rice with eggrolls, fried dumplings, I had Hot and Sour Soup, eggroll, General Taus Chicken with fried rice. I placed my order and headed to the restaurant. I arrived about 30 min from the time I placed my order. Unfortunately, I got here way too early.... It was another 30min before they let me know my order was ready. A full hour from placing my order to getting my food... I was no the only patron experiencing a long wait time... Others mentioned that their order was taking a long time... I got home and to my delight the food was most excellent. The chicken was not overcooked, the Hot and sour soup was superb, the fried and pork rice was great, eggrolls cooked perfectly..... Worth the wait... I understand that take out orders are not something they expected to be doing full time, but their system was not the best .. resulting in long wait times... I can not hold that against them.. we are all learning how to deal with the shutdown. I for one am glad they are open. I will be back. read more

Generous portions, lots of veggies and they are happy to add extra or special requests as well. The twice cooked chicken as well as twice cooked pork are excellent. Moo goo gi pan, clean, bright and refreshing. Garlic chicken a three time winner. Empress chicken is rich and delicious. Great soup. Great pot stickers, spring rolls & egg rolls. All in all everything we tried was good. The service is friendly and works to accommodate you. The restaurant is simple but tasteful. Very clean. A welcome addition to the area. Jasmine Asian Bistro is a newer restaurant on the east side of town. I love Asian cuisine, and I'm always looking for somewhere that compares to the Chinese restaurant in my hometown (owned by a sweet family that immigrated from China. They make amazing food!). There is quite a bit of variety on the menu here! You can get everything from sushi, to soups, to Chinese food. My husband and I both ordered General tsos chicken with white rice and we enjoyed our meal. It wasn't the absolute best I've ever had, but it was still very good! The chicken had a delicious crispy coating on it, and the sauce was a good balance of sweet and spicy. The egg roll wasn't my favorite, but I'm a picky eater, so I'm sure most people would really like it. The service here was a bit off. I think they're still figuring things out, since they are a newer business. We were seated immediately, but it took 20 minutes before anyone came by with a menu or to get our drinks. The restaurant wasn't busy, so this was a bit surprising. There were several servers, but it didn't seem like anyone had a specific section they were assigned to. Everyone was just everywhere, and it was a bit chaotic. Aside from that, everyone was very kind! We will definitely come here again, and would love to try the lunch menu. read more

Very disappointing. We ordered a few egg rolls and crab Rangoon to start. The egg rolls were too well done but the crab Rangoon was good. We then ordered the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and the tea smoked duck. The Mongolian beef and Sesame chicken came fairly quickly,but then I had to wait 30 minutes more to get my duck dish. I heard several apologies but it still took a long time. Timing of the dishes was not good. Everyone else was through by the time my meal came. I also had to ask 3 people for water several different times, each time i had to wait quite awhile to get refills. I used to work by the original location in Middletown and I loved that place so much. I told all my friends that it was the best Chinese in town, and it was worth a trip out to the burbs. My mom was in town and we were craving Chinese, so I was excited to finally try out this location since it's a little closer to my house. I ordered all my usual favorites--twice cooked fish, shrimp with vegetables, eggplant with green beans, and mapo tofu. Sadly, every dish was disappointing. The twice cooked fish was too salty and didn't have much flavor other than the saltiness. The shrimp with vegetables was bland. The other dishes lacked the depth of flavor that used to define Jasmine's dishes when I had dined in the past at the original location. Service was also meh. This is minor, but every plate and bowl brought to us had chips and cracks, and it was a bit off-putting. My stomach is full, but I'm feeling super bummed at how not good this meal was. read more

Ive been wanting to pop in to get some take out after seeing a take-out menu. So glad I did. It's such a cozy spot with your choice of seating. I had to get another glance at the bar stools. So elegantly covered and comfortable as well. I enjoyed chatting with the lady on how she was going to overhaul her bar to bring the height down. The votes were being tallied in the Trump scandal on a TV while the Bourbon Chicken in a wine sauce was SHOUTING, GET ME!!! I ended up with the bourbon chckn, fried rice & sizzling rice soup. Their fried rice wasn't weighed down with butter or any other greasy addatives. It more so resembled the fluffy & light steamed rice. The bourbon chicken was different than the vendor in Mall St Mathews. As stated it is cooked in a wine sauce with broccoli and ohhh so tasty. It wasn't the worst meal I've ever had, but it's on the list. The egg roll was lukewarm and soggy, as if it had been sitting for a while. I also had the salt and pepper flounder. Maybe I don't know how it's supposed to be prepared but why would you take a whole fish chop it up like fish sticks, bread it and deep fry it with the bones in? The fried rice: just bland, no flavor.
