Just last week I visited the Michelin Bib Gourmet recommended Sichuan restaurant in Memphis and trust me this one is even better than that. The menu starts with a stereotypical american Chinese menu but pass those pages and you will the real deal - the authentic Sichuan menu is so well curated. Each dish looks tempting. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered: 1) sichuan eggplant - good Portion size, yum! 2) lamb hot pot - flavors spot on and texture was amazing 3) dry fatty intestine - this is great if you love intestine 4) potato shred stir fry - so good, we love this 5) pork belly over mustard greens - pork belly and flavor was delicious, but mustard greens tasted like it came from a can 6) 5 bowls of rice - we need this!! :) If you love spicy food, then this place is a must. This has got to be my favorite Szechuan Chinese restaurants now! A bit underrated but they have options I don't see at other places. We shared chili oil wontons, bok choy, sesame balls, twice cooked pork, pork intestines, and Yangzhou fried rice. I'm not an intestines fan but friend is and she loved this dish. The sauce on the chicken was actually spicy. A lot of places say they are but don't deliver the taste. The rice was good. I did a Togo order so I can't really speak on in-house customer service but I can say the young man working behind the counter was very courteous as was the young lady bringing out the order. All are appropriately spiced--be aware that Sichuan food can veer on the spicier side (Szechuan peppers are numbing). Food items can be a bit greasy -- we don't mind too much. My favorite dishes are the green beans, the organic chicken soup (these you have you call ahead to make sure they'll have them in stock), and sliced beef and ox tongue in chili sauce. If you're looking for a great Chinese restaurant for both sit-down or take out - Sichuan House is the place. They have a large dining room that can accommodate groups both small and larger. The staff is accommodating and the menu is HUGE. They essentially have two elaborate menus - an American Chinese menu and an authentic menu. I ordered the Yellow Beef and the green beans. Both were great - packed some heat and lots of flavor. I also tried the crab rangoons and steamed dumplings - both were great. I came with a group of 8 people and I feel like everyone loved their food. It will definitely be on my list of places when I'm looking for a place to scratch the Chinese food itch. read more

So happy we found a new addition to the chinese restaurant scene. Sichuan House on Preston highway just passed the Viet Hoa asian grocery store. We only had 3 people so all we could do was an appetizer and 4 mains. The spices they used on the spicy dishes were lethal. One of my friends was sweating loads !! Every dish was 10/10 tasty. This restaurant has a high rating for GOOD reason! Best Sichuan place in Louisville, hands down. The dumplings with chili oil are a must order. I am a huge dumplings fan, and I can confidentially say these are the best I've ever had. The thick chili oil sauce on top is packed with flavor (tastes good drizzled on all the other food as well). The real deal!! First of all let me say if you want Americanized Chinese food Louisville has dozens and dozens of other options. What you want to order here is off their separate SICHUAN menu. I live in Cincinnati and we have nothing like this and I doubt Louisville does either. For an appetizer I had sliced beef with Ox tongue in chili oil, then went to a Bullfrog dry pot and lastly stewed sheep in hot chili oil. All extra spicy! I don't know anything about their Americanized Chinese food so I can't say anything about that. I will say their Szechuan food was very good. Just like the ones I've had in China. A little disappointed in their mapo tofu as it feels like it's a staple in this cuisine. As most Asian foods are, it is much better family style. They also serve nice portions which is a plus for me. I'd also like to add that it definitely isn't volcanic explosions in the toilet Szechuan spicy but it has enough of a kick to it where you can taste that you wish you bought that bidet when it was on sale for Black Friday. Came from Nashville for work and discovered this hidden gem of authentic schezwan cuisine. They have and authentic menu and it's pretty awesome. The dumplings were so good with a thick sauce on a bed of chilli oil. Also had the crab Rangoon and a very good filling inside. The beef noodle was also great. We are currently visiting Louisville and I was on the lookout for Chinese food when I stumbled upon Sichuan House. We decided to give it a go. If you want to experience authentic Chinese cuisine, this is the place to visit. Unlike typical American Chinese food, here you'll find spicy and flavorful Sichuan dishes. Both the cook and the servers are from Sichuan, adding to the authenticity. We ordered several dishes: 水煮鱼 (a fish dish), 干煸豆角 (a green bean dish), 辣子鸡丁 (a chicken dish), and 干锅土豆片 (a potato dish). The last dish wasn't even on the menu; it's popular in China, so I asked about it and they made it just for us. It was fantastic! If you want to try these dishes, simply show them the characters I wrote here and they'll understand. Take the opportunity to try something new rather than what you usually order. I left a lengthy review about how amazing this place is and how I'm so glad Louisville finally has a Chinese restaurant that specializes in Sichuan cuisine. What I find odd is that 15 of their 5 star reviews were removed from their website and placed in "Not recommended reviews". I highly recommend anyone looking to visit this restaurant to check out those. Not sure if someone is reporting the 5 star reviews but this place is amazing and I hope they make it.
