This is such a great store, you definitely have to visit - especially if you're a lover of trinkets. They have it all! Stickers, bags (Baggu, Loungefly, and others), coloring books, Dodger's stuff, keychains, blind bags, plush, and probably everything else your heart desires. There's also items from small businesses around which I so love! As for their pricing, I thought it was pretty fair. On the items I personally bought - I felt like everything was face value but I noticed a $1-$2 price mark up which isn't terrible. I called the store on friday Feb. 6 around 2:10pm asking about a baggu bag and the guy I talked to said they had 1 left in stock. I asked if they could put it on hold and he said they couldn't put it on hold because it was the last one. I decided to chance it and drive 50 minutes in traffic because I really needed to bag for a trip. I get to the store around 3:40pm and everyone in the store was nice but assumed the person I talked to put the item on hold. They checked multiple times and unfortunately the item was out of stock. This experience made me feel like the associate could have put the item on hold but didn't want to. I understand it was the last one in stock but I assured the associate I would buy it that day. It's just really upsetting since I wasted my time and gas just to come to this store. read more

This store is so cute and has the most fun merchandise in here. I felt like everywhere I turned was something I'd like or someone else would like. The employees were super helpful and sweet too. Very cute store! Been here a few times when I'm in the area. They always have the best stuff to give as gifts (or a treat to one's self). Plushes, toys, mugs, clothes, etc., you'll very likely find a gift very easily. Prices are okay. Everything is getting expensive, and some of their items are maybe priced a dollar or two higher than average. Jellycats are here! Staff has been fine. I was visiting the Claremont downtown area and I came across The Grove Home. Thought I check it out... It's a corner shop on Indian Hill Blvd and 2nd Street. Upon entry, I was greeted immediately by the friendly staff. There are lots of super cute knick knacks and novelty items. As I walked towards the back of the shop, I saw some really cute small plushies especially the ones related to graduation. My nephew was graduating from high school so I thought I would get one for him. However, when I looked at the price tag, it was $22 for a small egg-looking plushie. I was flabbergasted. I put it down right away. I was not going to pay that much for it. I didn't want to leave without getting something so I looked and looked and looked. I finally saw something I liked and it wasn't too costly even though it was still a tad high IMHO. It was a key chain with a beautifully designed pickleball paddle. I think it was about $12ish. I would have given this place a 4 stars, but their pricing is way too high IMHO, hence, 3 stars. If you don't mind the cost, this may be the place for you. read more

This is the cutest little toy store around. My niece and I are obsessed with jelly cats so when we think of getting a new one, this is where we come they have a large selection of trinkets and the cutest little toys. Service is always nice. Everyone's really helpful and welcoming. And everything is pretty reasonably priced. If you're looking for a unique toys for the holidays, I would recommend checking them out. I've bought so many little trinkets here. They have real Jellycat plushies and also more affordable options just as cute as well as Sanrio characters. The employees are extremely friendly and so helpful. I was looking for another guinea pig warmie since my mom had burnt my other one. Every employee helped me search but we didn't find it so I just bought another one just as cute. Then they called me a few minutes later telling me they found the exact one I wanted. I am extremely appreciative of them for taking time to look for it and that kind gesture made my whole day. Disappointing Experience - I visited this store today with a friend, excited to browse and pick out gifts. The store offers a wide selection of items, which we appreciated, but unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by feeling uncomfortable and watched. While I understand that staff may check in on customers, being asked multiple times if we were okay started to feel more like surveillance than helpfulness. It made us uneasy, especially since we were just taking our time in one section, trying to make decisions. When we approached the checkout counter my friend was still looking at some small trinkets by the register when the employee seemed visibly annoyed that we hadn't finished. The employee's tone was passive-aggressive during checkout, which made me anxious and uncomfortable. It was clear that she wasn't happy despite the fact that we were making purchases. (This came from one employee - the others were very very kind) So sad because the store itself was so cute! read more

Lots of interesting and unique gifts here! I especially like the National Parks collection of apparel and gifts. I can't understand why they don't make the items in the USA, but nothing the store can do about that. UNCOMFORTABLE! THEY WATCH YOU THE ENTIRE TIME!!!!! I've been in here a few times, mostly because my daughter likes to go in and browse around after stopping at Yogurtland. Each time I've gone in there, the employees watch you, pretend they're doing something close to you, or taking photos of the merchandise, when in reality they're watching you, they slowly move along with you wherever you go. I felt BEYOND uncomfortable when I was last there a week ago, I honestly felt like they facially profiled me because I'm Hispanic. I DONT STEAL! We love this store! My daughter is a huge Hello Kitty & Friends fan. They have such cute stuff! My only reason for one less star is because everything is super expensive. I really wanted to like this store. I thought it was sooo cute. But while I was shopping around, a staff asked for me to remove my bag and place it behind the staff registered. I was confused but did it anyway. He made, my friend and I place our bags on a dirty floor, far away from our reach. What through me off was that other people still had their bag with them. As the only POC shopper, I felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed that I was the only one who was being targeted. I really wished I had a better experience, but with how they treated, I don't think I'll ever be able to come back!! read more

The outside was adorable and inviting - the staff, however, couldn't be less inviting. My friend and I entered the store. We saw a sign that asked us to place our drinks down on a shelf. That was fine and totally understandable. As we walked around, an employee asked us to put our bags behind the register. He was nice enough and we figured this was store policy. However, as we continued shopping we noticed more and more people come in still wearing their bags. They were never asked to put their bags away. These people were all Caucasian, and my friend is not. We were disgusted by the realization that she had been racially profiled. It became GLARINGLY obvious when we were FOLLOWED and stared at. We left the store. When we passed by later we noticed every customer inside had a tote bag and carried them around with no issues from employees. No one should be profiled or discriminated. No one should be treated differently. Really wanted to love and support this store but I cannot support a store that makes others uncomfortable and assumes the worst based on their skin color. Cute shop. This is their new location. Good place to get your hipster/new-age-y home decor and gift items. They carry items such as cards, candles, incense, crystals, books, mugs, drinkware, wind chimes, and so on. They carry Sugarfina candy if you are looking for that. Their sales rack is pretty good. I live in Claremont and have been going to the grove and the grove home for almost nine years. The workers have always been very nice and helpful and the stores always have the cutest things especially for gifts.
