This is the type of store that my 20s-something daughter would typically shop in. Cute clothes for sure but on the youthful side. Maybe because I am young at heart I found a couple of things here: a baby doll T-shirt ($18) that said "I love hot dads" and a sweater ($36) with cherries on them. Yeah none of this stuff is work-appropriate but I like to wear fun clothes! I signed up for their points club, you get a free sticker for doing this as well as getting a free tote bag on your birthday. They have stores throughout SoCal but this was the first location I've been to. Service was friendly and they helped me find the right sizes that I needed. Prices weren't too bad either. Came here because I loved the skirts! One girl was at the register helping a customer and there was another girl doing nothing, I asked her if I could try the skirt on and she said "yeas hold on" as she went to straighten something on a rack! So the other girl who was at the register helping the customer she finished and walked over to open the fitting room then the other girl ( who left me waiting , so she could straighten a rack) came walking over. I tried on the skirt and loved it, but I refuse to spend my money where my business is not wanted! This is the second or third time i came here and was ignored, they don't greet you when you walk in, don't offer assistance NOTHING! They are very rude and have terrible customer service! It's now September so of course, all out *whaaah* I spotted the cutest little romper in the most beautiful color of the moment -mustard- and trying to reach for it...spilled my entire drink all over the floor!!! Omgoosh!! Well Kat was nothing but gracious and kind about it. Cleaning and letting me know "it happens, it's only an accident" (love her) Meanwhile, I'm over here all super embarrassed... but I ended up buying the little romper and a few extra goodies since I had time to look around while this little angel cleaned up my disaster!! I lived in the area years ago and shopped here often. I've since moved away but thanks to their online store, I can still buy from here! I haven't had a bad experience when I've gone in (back in 2016-2017). The staff were always helpful and courteous. Since I've only shopped online since then, I have to say customer service on that end is still great. I had to make an exchange recently and everything was handled smoothly and quickly. One thing I do have to mention is the quality of the clothing. There are definitely some hits and misses with the quality, but to be extra careful I recommend hand washing (as most tags suggest) and then hang drying. I've had some dresses and pants from here for years and they've held up great! read more

I have purchased from here one other time and service was fine, went last week and it was HORRIBLE! Walked in and was not greeted by one of the two white employees, almost felt ignored and as if my presence was unwelcomed. It was just me and this older white lady shopping and employees approached her several times asking if she needed help or a fitting room. Not once was I approached even with 4 items in my hands. I had to ask for a fitting room and they just told me to go in whichever one. While changing, I overheard the employees asking the older lady if she wanted them to put her items in the room for her and her name for the room (they write your name on the room as well as number of items). Once I was ready to check out, worker did not talk to me, tell me my total, and did not inform me of my rewards discount that could have been applied to my purchase that day (found out about it afterwards in my email). Just found out owners are disgusting racists who believe people of color should be openly discriminated against and criminalized so I will NOT be returning here ever again. read more

Not all the clothing in this store is my style (yes, like Forever 21, but isn't every place these days?), but you can't beat the prices. If you are in town and in need of a cheap but cute solid tee, solid tank, fedora, or another accessory, this place has your much-needed staples. I got a pretty tank top that I wore once then made sure to wash according to instructions on the tag and the shirt shrank and ripped right along the seem in front along the buttons. I wanted to love this place but if this is the quality they put out I will not be purchasing any more clothing from them nor will I recommend anyone purchase clothing from here. Paying 22 bucks to wear a shirt once is ridiculous. They need to learn to put the proper instructions for care on their clothing. Also, I went to try and contact them online to ask them about why the clothing would fall apart so easily and their contact link was conveniently broken and wouldn't send the message. read more

Disclaimer: In the past I have honesty been one of Nectars biggest customers, always buying sundresses for 100 degree claremont days and various birthday presents for friends from Nectar. Over the past 3 years it feels that their pieces have not only become more expensive, less original and lower quality (by trying to emulate Brandy Melville) but the atmosphere has also become inauthentic. Sizing is EXTREMELY exclusive. I am extremely disappointed that the biggest size they carry is a "Large" (which runs small compared to many other stores). It seems fairly ridiculous that the store seems to play into the narrative of thin, petite girls being able to wear trendy, cute dresses/clothes. The girls that work there are not apologetic about the fact that they only carry 3 sizes, implying that if you cannot fit into a size L, "too bad." The girls who work here are extremely abrasive and when they aren't they seem to be reciting everything off of a script, only caring about if it worked out/you purchase it. They are not accommodating and prove to be very uneducated about the clothes in the store and have a "I don't know where that would be, but if you can find it, good for you!" approach. My advise is the following: 1. that the owner makes the clothing more inclusive to a range of sizes instead of fostering the idea that cute clothes can only fit sizes 00-6's 2. stick to what they know! focus less on having 100's of different pieces/odds and ends and focus more on carrying more of the same item, having employees being familiar with most pieces 3. reevaluate who they have hired, reflect on how they want interactions between employees and customers to go. Easy going, authentic, helpful and REAL employees would be a good start. 4. Implement these suggestions and try to improve for their customers, the industry, and the community they serve. I believe they can do it, and I am happy to wait until they do in order to give them a second chance! read more

Great service, kind employees. They were a little busy so they weren't super attentive which I actually prefer because I like to browse without being hovered over. When I went to the dressing rooms, they were very prompt to come over and help me. There were only two employees with a store full of people, being the human I am, I chose to give them a little grace and recognize they were doing their best unlike all these one star reviews. The clothes were very in style clothes and had a lot of cute options. I didn't see any size larger than a larger (but I'm a small so I'm not necessarily looking for larger sizes this is just what I saw). I honestly used to love coming to shop here , I've noticed overtime their customer service has gotten worse sadly & their selection of clothing is not as good as it used to be . They used to have so much product before and now there's just not much selection . I remember the employees would welcome you in and ask you how you're doing or if you're shopping for anything and now they can't even welcome you in or interact with you . They're too busy talking and laughing with each other, especially when they're not busy doing anything & there's no one else in the store I would think they would check up on me and ask if I'm still doing okay with everything. I was walking around the village yesterday, and decided to look around this store. I honestly was just going to look around and leave, but I left so impressed! Tiffany was super helpful, and patient! I hate clothes shopping, but she was so sweet and set me up with super cute outfits I would never have thought of. She wasn't pushy at all (like a lot of clothing boutiques are), so I felt instantly comfortable. Especially since she made a point to learn MY style, and make outfits based off that. I've always wanted to visit the brand ever since I walked by the window of the Redlands store and even follow them on Instagram. But my visit to this particular location was very disappointing. The selection of clothes is a little overwhelming. The clothes on the table are folded so you can't really see what they look like and the clothes on the racks are a bunch of different items shoved together. All the clothes I saw were really cute but I had no idea where to start. The girls at the counter were very inviting when I walked in, but they seemed to prefer to interact and assist customers that they knew by name. No one offered me any help the entire time I was in the store, while the ladies that they knew were constantly being attended to. I was pretty disappointed by the level of customer service because going by their social media presence they seemed to be pretty engaging. Maybe I'll try again another time. read more

So update, the owner of Nectar chain contact me with an apology and this is not the common practice of her business and she was outraged at the way her staff handled the situation at your store yesterday. I am taken back and appreciate her apology. Because of this I am changing my rating and will give the store another chance. But buyer, this was a huge lesson for me, Pay attention when you are being rang up! So most reviews I give are 5 star reviews. This is actually my first bad review, this is a valid complaint. Buyer beware. I went into Nectar today. Super cute clothes, friendly staff. I bought 2 shirts and 1 pair of jeans. The sales girl rang me up, asked if I would like my receipt in my bag, as I am walking out I pull the receipt out of the bag to place it in my wallet, and I immediately notice I was charged for 1 shirt $36.00 and (2) pair of jeans at $58.00 each, I only bought two shirts 1 at $34.00 and 1 at $36.00 and 1 pair of jeans at $58.09. No big deal I walk right back in and up to the counter as I was just there not 5 seconds ago and show the girl the receipt and that she mischarged me. I was very nice, mistakes happen. But this is where it starts to all go wrong. The girl tells me she is sorry, but she is not allowed to give refunds. Hello! She over charged me, I was not returning anything I just wanted the $27.00 back that I was over charged, 5 seconds ago. She again apologizes and says she needs to call her manager. She talks to someone on the phone hangs up and proceeds to tell me, she can't get ahold of her manager and that she can give me store credit. Um, no that is not going to work for, as "I was over charged" so she calls her assistant manager, meanwhile I have now been standing there for 15 minutes. She hangs up with her assistant manger and says She is so sorry but she can only give me store credit as they do not give refunds. What !! Are you fricken kidding me! Again, I tell her "no that is not going to work." She is going to void my credit card transaction and charge me the correct amount, as I was "over charged" and that was her fault not mine. I was starting to get really upset, as in my mind this is stealing. This store was trying to steal an extra $27.00 from me. I get that there is a (No refund policy) but this was not what I was asking for, And yes it was my fault for not paying attention when the dimwit rang it up, but come on really. I caught it before she even made another cc transaction. Finally, after almost 20 minutes of back and forth and her realizing I was not leaving, she finally credited my credit card. She did give me a 20% coupon, when she apologized the first time as she was telling me she could only give me store credit. Which I was like seriously. So moral of this story, pay attention when someone is ringing up your items. And by the way too many cute boutiques where I live, so I will not shop here or at the Nectar by house ever again. I should never had to have fought that hard for a credit that was owed to me from their error! That is just bad customer service!! read more

In terms of product, this place is AMAZING. I love their cute dresses and tops, which seems to be of higher quality than Forever 21. However, customer service depends on how you look... meaning I get a lot of attention when I'm dressed just like the sales associates but am basically ignored when I come to the store in a basic t-shirt and jeans. A few weeks ago, I came here with a friend. I went into Nectar after reading all the great Yelp reviews, and was unimpressed. The clothing was pretty cute, and the prices were inexpensive but nothing stood out to me. It was pretty much Forever 21, but closer to the colleges (and minus the chaos). Nothing too special in terms of quality or style. That said, customer service was great. Nectar is the best boutique I've ever been to! Not only is their stuff well priced (usually between $25-35), their clothes are really cute and slouchy and stylish. I think that whenever I shop here, I feel better about myself. :) They have really wonderful dresses for any body type and any taste. I have trouble finding things I love, but when I go to Nectar, I can't help but buy a lot! The staff is really nice too, they are always helpful and tell you what you can wear things with and if they think one color is better than the other. Stumbled upon this place because I was in the beautiful downtown Claremont. Visited a couple of other boutiques in the area but they were pretty pricey and I wasn't in the mood to shell out a lot of money. Nectar looked promising so I gave it a shot. They do have a good selection of clothing and accessories for a fair price but I am not a fan of pieces that look like they came from Forever 21 and are made of polyester so most of the things there were not my cup of tea. I also prefer items that are a bit unique and cannot be found at any corner store. I did find a couple of items that I liked but felt that they were priced too high for the quality of material. I noticed that several of the items I liked were only M and L sized.. I guess most people who shop here pick up all the S sizes. boo =( Didn't think I'd walk away with anything but I did (figured I'd pick up something for a show). Total cost was ~$30. I stopped in after a hair appointment, something in the window caught my eye. The store is cute looks like a lower end urban outfitters. The quality of the clothes is poor.I grew up shopping downtown LA's fashion district and I hate to break it you but these pieces are the same low quality pieces. It looks good but after one wash it's a different story. Save your money if you're going to spend Urban Outfitters prices go to UO.
