In 2025, Dr. Jasmine Yun gave me the most detailed full body skin cancer screening I have ever had. I was referred to her by my general practitioner at UCLA who I love & respect, so I knew she would be great. Dr. Yun gave me really helpful info on anti aging skin products and IPL to help my rosacea. Fast forward to 2026; the office started offering Sofwave treatments for collagen building & skin tightening. I stopped getting filler several years ago, but I am always interested in ways to combat age related collagen loss. After a really detailed consultation with PA Charlotte, I scheduled a Sofwave session with her. I requested numbing on all the areas to be treated, so l arrived in time to sit with the cream on for 30-ish minutes. Charlotte was SO detailed & patient, she mapped all the areas (brows, cheeks, jaw, submentum) with marker & showed me how she planned to lift areas. She gave me a tube that blew cold air to aim at the areas while she used the Sofwave wand. And she checked in with me throughout the treatment to make sure I was comfortable. 95% of the treatment was so painless, I could have fallen asleep! The 5% of time that I felt anything, at the very edges of my jaw & on one spot on my brows, it felt like quick stinging sensations - but way less than past laser hair removal. Still, numbing is the way to go imo haha. I had no swelling afterwards & only a little redness; I felt totally presentable to be out in public. As I drove home, I telt like my face was tighter already - but I also was still numb, so I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination. I had taken my own selfies before I headed to the office, so l took directly after selfies when I got home. I was super happy to see that I could see immediate results when I stitched my pics side by side! I shared my before & after pics with my friends & they could totally tell too. I look refreshed, for sure. And full results don't even happen for 4-6 months, because collagen will be rebuilding during that time. I don't know if my immediately noticeable results are typical, but l am now a big believer in Sofwave! I've been telling my friends about it - and about Charlotte! I rarely leave reviews, especially for medical professionals, but today is an exception. I was not asked to leave this review, nor would I ever leave on le UNLESS I felt VERY strongly about a provider, one way or the other. And this is my first doctor. I'm actually a little afraid because they may get too busy to see me again after what I have to say here! I just went in for my first dermatology exam with Dr. Yun and I want to clarify that I never knew about her or Dr. Van Dyke prior to a few days ago. I found her through my medical insurance app's referral--mainly because she was the closest. For some reason, I've always felt that you had to go to Beverly Hills or UCLA to get high quality dermatological care. However, I feel like I struck gold with Dr. Yun and staff today. First off, I've never spoken to medical receptionists who were nicer, more patient or more kind than the staff at Van Dyke Yun Dermatology in Studio City. I actually told them how shocked I was to engage with medical receptionists who didn't make me feel like I was bothering them or like they were doing me such an extreme favor by merely acknowledging my existence on Planet Earth. The wait was minimal, even though I walked in a little late because my GPS sent me to the wrong location. And they have free PARKING. (What?!?) You heard me right, Punky. The PA came in to say hello and give me my sexy paper exam robe. Shortly after, Dr. Yun walked into the room. Sometimes, you have to wait until your next birthday passes for a dermatologist to walk in with an entourage of staff and/or interns. It was just her and she immediately calmed any nerves I might've had. I sometimes get nervous when a doctor is the opposite sex, knowing you may have to strip down and show some of your moneymaker during the check-up. But Dr. Yun made me feel totally at home and she got right into the exam. She was thorough, compassionate, sweet, and funny. And went above and beyond, taking care of more than I asked for--mainly because it seems like she's into prevention and being safe rather than taking a "wait and see" approach to treating her patients. And I like that; I like a doctor who takes charge without making you feel like you're a number or just some profitable flesh-puppet with a problem. In closing, if you need a dermatologist or even THINK it's been a while since your last head-to-toe skin checkup, then call them today and book your appointment. Living in SoCal, the sun can take its toll on your skin, so don't wait and take any chances. As far as I know, they take most major medical. I never met Dr. Van Dyke, but I can only imagine that he's as nice and comforting as the rest of his staff. I'd be VERY surprised if he turned out to be a douchebag. Of course, I'm KIDDING--I was told by staff that he's the "cat's meow" and sets a high bar for that office. Kudos, Guys! And thanks for a great experience. Dr Yun saved my life and that of my husband's. The biopsies confirmed melanoma for him, squamous cell carcinoma 4 him & for me Basil cell carcinoma. She is absolutely extraordinary , so warm that you are instantly relaxed. She is surrounded by a welcoming, knowledgeable staff. Melissa, Byron, Scarlett, we're so helpful. I've been going to Doctor Yun since for about 8 to 10 years now. I would drive from West Hollywood to West Hills to see her because she definitely earned my trust. Now to fast forward a few years I actually moved to West Hills but she moved to Studio City which is where I go visit her now. Normally it can take a few weeks to get an appointment with Doctor Yun but the moment I told her staff that I thought I found Skin Cancer they booked me an appointment within a few days. Doctor Yun also let me email her photos because it was New Years Eve and I was totally a mess and super scared. On New Years Eve Doctor Yun emailed me back not once but twice ensuring me that everything was going to be ok. This helped me get through the few days of waiting to see her. Fast forward again to my appointment, it was great to See Doctor Yun in Person again because of Covid our last visit was on FaceTime. She took a look at my bump on my temple and began to numb me up and remove it. The procedure took about 3 minutes. We chatted for a few minutes and she told me that she would send it in for a biopsy. I waited about 3 days and the results were in but unfortunately The Cancer was not all gone and I needed to have more of that section removed. Doctor Yun called me personally and offered to see me the next day but I opted to see her 2 days later to give myself time to prepare for the second surgery. My new appointment arrived this time my brother came with me ( he's also her patient ) and Doctor Yun Came into the room and completed the procedure again in around 3 minutes. Another Few days passed and I received a voicemail from Doctor Yun that I was Cancer Free!!!! It honestly felt like someone removed a bolder off my chest. Thank you to Doctor Yun and her very polite and compassionate staff. I sincerely appreciate everything you have done for me and my family. In terms of recommendations - it's my opinion that Doctor Yun is one of the most experienced dermatologists in the United States and you would be lucky to have the chance to resolve any issues you might have with her. read more

I have to agree with some of the reviewers here. During my visit, I felt rushed when I asked her questions regarding my skin condition. She kept making generalized comments and instead of examining the area more carefully, she just blatantly dismissed my concerns and threw out a bunch of medical terms that an average patient would not understand without explaining it. I decided to see her because of the positive reviews here on Yelp, but I honestly do not understand or agree with the positive reviews. The only thing I can think of if that she might only be interested in spending time with patients who will potentially spend big bucks with her on some cosmetic procedures. If you are planning on spending $$$ and are looking to do some expensive cosmetic procedures, she might be the dermatologist for you. I finally landed on this office from seeing great photos and reviews on Yelp. I was a little said to not be able to see Jasmine, but I think my issue was small enough to give their PA Charlotte a chance since I was told she worked with Dr. Yun for several years. And I don't mind giving other doctors a chance. The staff was great and very kind and professional. And the decor is modern and cute as well. Charlotte was friendly and professional. She immediately figured out what was going on and knew exactly what to do. I think I was in and out in 10 minutes. I was very happy with my visit. And I recently had a follow up visit, and it was also quick and painless as well. I'm confident that my issue will be solved and gone soon. I love that there is a parking lot even if it's small. Even though this clinic didn't accept my dad's health insurance, we were willing to bring our dad to be taken care of Dr. Yun because of good reviews about her. My experience when visiting the clinic: The parking is very limited. It has been a couple times I visit this clinic and thankfully, I always find the parking spot. The receptionists are very helpful & friendly. First Impression on the first meeting with Dr. Yun: She is very pleasant to talk with & polite. Even though she's wearing a face mask, I can tell that she always smiles when she talks and listens. After examining my dad's skin, we agreed to do biopsy on the dark spot around forehead and his arm, plus cold/Cryotherapy. She surprised knowing that we would pay cash on the treatment. She seriously told us that she would not charge my father on doctor visit. I've never expected that she would be so generous to waive 100% fee on doctor visit. We paid cash to other doctors before, but none of them would care on how much we must spend out of the pocket. Dr Yun is totally different. It's not all about the money (even though money is important), but she is really care about her patients (we can tell from her patients' reviews). She is a nice doctor inside and out. I've never seen such a good doctor like that in my life. Even though she's knowledgeable, but she's not arrogant at all. She is patient & considerate. When we were about to leave, she gave us an Aquaphor sample (healing ointment just in case my dad need it). She also informed that she would call me once she received on the biopsy result. Dr. Yun kept her promise. She called me as soon as she received the biopsy result. I was surprised when receiving her phone call because I thought she would ask her assistant or receptionist to call me. I didn't expect that she would call me on the biopsy result and arranged the schedule for the 2nd visit. She impressed me again with her loyalty as a doctor! On the 2nd visit, my dad went through biopsy again on his arm & his back and cryotherapy. Dr. Yun only charged for a biopsy on my dad's arm for $250. She didn't charge my dad on the biopsy on his back, cryotherapy, and doctor visit. Before we left Dr. office, we got a 'goody bag' from Dr Yun: 4 different samples of sunscreens and an Aquaphor sample. Dr. Yun, we can never thank you enough. Oh, thanks also for spraying the cold stuff on my mom's neck. Bless your big and generous heart! It's worth it to find you even though I have to drive for about an hour. I strongly recommend visiting Dr. Yun on dermatology problems. Having come from a background of extreme medical phobia issues, I must say that both appointments I had at this office made me a champion over fear! Dr. Yun and her staff are so professional, kind, patient and knowledgeable. I felt so comfortable and assured under their care. I had to have a skin biopsy and a subsequent removal of superficial skin cancer on my forearm. Both procedures went so smoothly! Dr. Yun's conversation with me during the procedures greatly helped calm me down. The office is very clean, modern and quite. I had a really terrible experience with Dermatologist and primary care providers in the past with Medi-Cal. My last dermatologist was a bit inappropriate. This time I decided to go with a female provider. Today she helped me more remove some milia and skin tags in an intimate area and made me feel very comfortable and not judged like I have it other OB/GYN's. Ok, I wanted to take what she prescribed and I a week later, I am happy to report AMAZING RESULTS! I had been suffering from an allergy that had been causing a facial rash for quite some time.
