I started going to this dental office for teeth cleaning during Covid. I didn't see Dr. Gee until my last visit which was a filling replacement. His other dentists have great bedside manners. After one of my routine cleanings, one of the dentists took a look and recommended that I do a filling replacement on my next visit. So when I made a follow up visit to have the filling replacement with Dr. Gee, my experience here quickly deteriorated. He said I should be doing a crown instead of a filling replacement and when I told him I wanted to stay with a filling replacement, he was so rough and made my gum bleed so much that I never wanted to go back. My previous filling replacements have always been decent and no issues. Dr Gee did a really terrible job with this filling and I couldn't even run a floss in between my teeth without breaking the floss. Vicky cleans your teeth well, but I feel like she's constantly upselling you to come to more cleanings more often than what the dental insurance plan can cover. I always get excellent dental care at this office. Dr. Daniel is one of the best dentists I ever had and he's extremely thorough. I also had my wisdom teeth pulled in-house by Dr. Narbeh G who is an incredibly skilled oral surgeon. He made me feel at ease during the whole procedure and it was painless. I don't feel any pain or discomfort on the first three days which is apparently when it's the worst. The assistants/hygienists are all really nice and make you feel comfortable. read more

Starting off as a new patient. Already had difficulties trying to make appointment and get started. Was told to be able to get teeth cleaned by one office staff then told another story by another that no teeth cleaning can be done. Said the patient doesn't decide what to do at all. The dentist does and patient has to follow what dentist says = dentist can put any charges on patient without negotiate hah. No room for patient to negotiate? Can't even use benefits correctly. Avoid, terrible experience starting off already. Can't imagine if I actually chose this dentist moving forward. read more

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Jason Gee's office over 10 years now. The front desk and back-office staff have treated us like family all these years and we continue to receive wonderful, thoughtful care from them to this day. I've been going to Dr. Gee's office for the past year now and have had Dr. Daniel as my dentist. He has been nothing but amazing! Dr. Daniel is gentle and exceptional with his work. He and the other doctors are great! I used to get really anxious about going but everyone there is so helpful, it's been a much calmer process starting with the help of Yuli in the front, who always accommodates my schedule and explains to me my treatment while Es or Nancy, the assistants are ready to take care of me in the back. Like a few other past reviews, this review is largely based on the namesake the of dental office, Jason Gee, DDS. I should also add that of the ~2yrs that I have been coming to this dental office, I have never once been seen by Dr. Gee. My wife and I, (luckily not our two young kids), have been coming to this dental office for about 2 yrs now. We initially came to this office because of convenience, (location and availability). Even though we did move further away we still decided to come to this dental office out of legacy and dental records they had on me and my wife. That is until now... It was Monday at 9:00AM and I was scheduled to go in to have a small cavity filled. I unfortunately was not able to make it b/c my son had gotten sick over the weekend. I had to stay home with him and could not take him to daycare. I called in to the office between 8:30AM - 8:40AM to let the office know that I had to reschedule the 9:00AM appointment. A man answered and upon hearing that I had to reschedule, his first response was, "Well, we have a $50 cancellation policy for changes made less than 24 hours." The cavity filling procedure was $55 and I asked, "Isn't that the same price as the procedure?" His response, "Pretty much! I can let you be late 30 minutes and come in at 9:30 or else we'll have to still bill you." I was...not happy to say the least. Why?!? A few reasons. 1) This cavity filling appointment was actually a 2nd appointment b/c the first appointment (made for the week prior), the dentist, not Dr. Gee had to rescheduled. Do I get to charge him for a cancellation less than 24hrs before? Of course not, that would be ridiculous. 2) I had a sick 2 yr old son at home but was never given a chance to tell him why I was seeking to reschedule. Just an immediate "Well, we have a $50 cancellation policy for changes made less than 24 hours." ...I was not canceling but rescheduling but sure. 3) My wife and I had been going for a few years now and this was the first time we had to reschedule or in his eyes, cancel within less than 24 hrs. Having good to great customer service and etiquette would be to advised that there is a cancellation fee but they can waive it for this time. That was not offered, just the curt, "Well, we have a $50 cancellation policy for changes made less than 24 hours." and not leaving me with any options but to go in or get charged $50. Who really remembers all the T&Cs of all their various doctors's offices but again, even if they have a cancellation fee, be open to give the benefit of the doubt, provide good-great customer service and waive that fee. This review is wayyyy longer than intended but let me leave everyone with this last tidbit. You want to go to a doctor/dentist that has compassion for their patience FIRST and their great business will build and grow. NOT the other way around. After going in, doing the cavity filling procedure, getting ready to pay, Dr. Gee walked by, gives me a pat on my shoulder, (not even sure why he's touching me) and said "Sorry about that, we have to do business and we would have had to charge. I have to pay my dentists if you don't show up." Which I get but highly doubt he would pay the dentist if I don't show up. If I am covid positive and COULD not go in, had a medical emergency or was too ill to go in, would he still pay that dentist, doubt it but hey, maybe he is a good boss and will still pay them still. I'll never know but what I do know that my wife, kids and family will never go back there again. There are MANY great dentists out there that are nice, friendly, and compassionate, go to them b/c they care about you, the patient first! Not Dr. Gee that is more focused on the business than his patients! Take my advice and avoid this office like the plague or last few years of the Covid pandemic! read more

Not a fan of this dentist. Went here because my dad goes here and because he took our insurance. So growing up this was the only option I had. Definitely felt like he always recommended me an excessive number of fillings more than necessary. And when I revisit for my annual, he would tell me that he'll need to redo my fillings because they came off. WTF. Why was the job done so poorly on the first place that the it required a redo. Did not appreciate that. My experiences here are analogous to going to a car mechanic, and the mechanic telling you that you need all this work done. Then doing a shoddy job at it that you'll need to return back for repair over and over again. Less than pleasant. Would not recommend. read more

To be honest, I've yet to see the dentist but this review is for the appt. to see them. I called asking if they had any friday appt available. The gentleman who answered the phone asked if I was a new patient to which I replied yes. I was informed that new patient appts are only Mon -Wed since new patients require a longer time for x-rays and forms. Fine by me, what time as I work until 5:30 in LA so I'm typically home around 6-6:30PM. They have late/extended hours on Wed, till 6PM.... WHAT?? how is that extended hours?? I simply cannot take time off just to see the dentist and I find it unfair that they were not willing to accommodate my schedule, even after I said I can go in as early as needed on fridays (I work 6 days a week with fridays off). I plan on changing my dentist as soon as possible. I'm sure the actual dentist is really good but I will never know. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Jason Gee for my dental needs for many many years now and I have even referred several of my family members over. Dr. Gee is very professional, genuinely caring, and skillful. He did everything for me from regular teeth cleanings to invisalign. His staff, especially Cindy is awesome and super too! It's so easy to schedule an appointment with him! Dr. Gee is super with children too! I brought my toddler kids to him and they now LOVE going to the dentist! He makes them feel very comfortable and makes an otherwise scary experience pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Gee for all your dental needs! read more

I came to Dr. Gee's office after having a bad experience with a big conglomerate dentist, waiting for over an hour in a big office and being told I needed all kids of things I knew I didn't need. They were impatient with my nervous daughter. After that, I found Dr. Gee. Everyone in the office gives personal, friendly and professional attention. They took such good care of my very apprehensive 9 year old when she came in tears, she left with a smile. Dr. Gee does not recommend treatment that is not needed. He is a true professional and not out to gouge his patients for unneeded dental work. I would highly recommend Dr. Gee. Good, honest and knowledgeable dentist. read more

Dr. Gee was awesome. He and his staff help give my teeth a very deep cleaning. It was the best deep cleaning ever done on my teeth. I've started going to Dr Gee because my wife gets her dentistry done here also. I like it here because he's a perfectionist thru and thru. Yea, he doesn't have the newest or fanciest office, but he also doesn't charge you the fancier prices lol. As long as his equipment is sterilized, who cares about shiny new offices. Dentistry is expensive and our insurance don't cover much, so this place is perfect. Plus, he'll send you to other places for a 2nd opinion if you are in doubt. read more

Also and the most important not greedy, like some of those scam bags that want to order procedure even you do not need it. Score. Trust. Dr. Gee makes your visit as painless and enjoyable as possible. I kid you not. Dr. Gee takes the time to answer any and all questions you may have and makes you feel relaxed and at ease while you're in his care. I personally very sensitive to any pain. He is the only medical practitioner in my life (and I'm almost 30) who actually takes the time to follow up with you post-procedure. I missed his call and got his voice mail inquiring if any I had any pain after yesterdayâs procedure!!! Bottom line is that Dr. Gee Jason is simply the BEST DENTIST ever and he chooses his staff to reflect the highest quality medical treatment that he deeply cares about. The dentist himself is very nice. He's patient and doesn't scold you about the state of your teeth. However, I felt like just another set of teeth. He walked into the room, didn't say anything. He asked me to open my mouth without even introducing himself. He apologized after I pointed this out and I did have a few fillings done here. I feel they were all over the place and kinda messy. They fit me in the next business day to get them adjusted. That was great but I won't be back for a few reasons. I felt he was rough in comparison to other dentists I've seen. The day I was going to get work done, they told me to sit down and were doing to start working on me without even going over what was going to be done. He also stepped our of the room a few times without saying anything. He didn't change his gloves when he came back in or after he looked through drawers. According to Dr. Gee I had one more cavity to get filled. However, I have gone to another dentist and found there is no cavity there. So now I'm wondering about the work I've had done and whether I really needed it. He went over my x rays really quickly almost as if talking to himself, so I only saw one spot that showed decay for sure, the others, I had only a quick glance. When I left, they didn't even tell me how to take care of my fillings, I had to ask. Be prepared to really advocate for yourself if you decide to go here. read more

Pros: He went to USC Cons : everything else. This guy has major issues. For the record, the following review is from me and my wife whom is a 15 year dental professional whom has practiced in the field with special needs patients in a hospital setting, in all areas of specialty, including patients under GA and light sedation, and successfully held a position of educating others who are going into the field as an adjunctive member of the dental team. She has NEVER been fired, let go or otherwise disciplined. Her license is in long term PERFECT standing. That being said, please be advised my review should be considered as: in our OPINION only. Neither of us is a doctor nor a dentist. I am the patient and my wife handles our health and dental care issues but we BOTH interacted with him. She our family advocate in these matters. At Jason Gee DDS office, never once were things done as expected at any appointment we booked, but still we complied AND paid even though we had no idea if what was going to take place would match to what they booked us for. On more than one occasion he proceeded to complain to us about our insurance plan among other things. It is not our fault that he chose to participate in certain insurance plans which he dislikes. It is purely HIS CHOICE to accept compensation as dictated by the contract that he willingly entered into. He can follow contractual policy to terminate those plans if he so desires. Based on how we were treated we would strongly urge him to do so but it is NOT our responsibility to make those decisions. Of course we informed our insurance company and were told that he should NOT be complaining about his compensation to us. We are still considering filing a grievance but don't want to waste more time or stress on this practice so we'll see. It IS our responsibility to pay our insurance premiums and co payments which we happily do but we should not be made to suffer because he hates our insurance plan. At one point he became angry and accused us of dictating treatment when we told him we cannot afford implants that he verbally mentioned in passing as we NEVER received a written treatment plan. In no way does it translate into we don't agree simply because we can't afford something. We did everything he asked us to and paid our portion in full on the day of services, even when he wasn't sure what our portion was. We keep our copay schedule on hand with us and we always pay our share no matter what. In addition, I don't care to hear the doctor complain about how much he has to pay his employees because of the hours he schedules them to work. HOW in the world does that involve the patients!? NOT my responsibility! That is information that should be professionally kept behind closed doors. It is my belief that one's personal problems should stay at home and one's business should run like a business. Unfortunately for us, this was not the case. Dr. Gee also felt it was necessary to verbally demean, humiliate and insult me and my wife as well as compare her to his own WIFE when we had specific treatment and cost questions and concerns. I found it all quite bizarre. He also berated her to the point that she was at a total loss of how to process what was being said to her and told him she'd need to end the conversation so she could take some time to figure out how to process all of what was being said. Although both of us would have been justified to simply hang up on him neither of us did that and politely let him finish his tirade and ended the conversation politely and respectfully. I found his behavior bewildering to say the least. I would call his personality passive aggressive and perhaps a bit delusional. (again MY opinion and for the record I am not a psychologist). It was all very strange. All confidence was lost in this practice. Suffice it to say we are promptly heading back to our beloved long term family DDS (whose treatment he insulted and mocked-highly unprofessional!) even though Dr Gee has not completed treatment that is in progress. Of course we will inform our kind and gentle family dentist of the unsolicited and unsavory criticism bestowed upon him behind his back. In all of our years we have never come across a dentist that felt it necessary to put down a fellow dentist to patients who are coming IN to his office.. Why? Also, I don't know what the stain on his waiting room ceiling is but I would advise it to be cleaned up. What might this say about other areas? Is it mold? Yuck! Basically, we tried out this office due to insurance benefits that were not available prior.but we will happily pay full price to return to our beloved long term dentist and forgo the insurance benefits in exchange for good quality communication and treatment. I have been going to this dentist for years, even though his office is not close to my home, because I know he won't be overcharging me or recommending services that I don't need. I've found him to be highly ethical and honest, as well as very compassionate to all his patients. For instance, when I was pregnant, he would let me know that I could hold off on certain procedures until after the baby was born. After my baby was born, he took extra effort in ensuring that medications would not adversely affect my newborn whom I was nursing. I am very impressed with Dr. Gee professionals and knowledge as a dentist. I had seen many dentists and I have to say that Dr. Gee is one of a few best one out there. For one, I did not have to wait hours for to be seen (with apt). When we got there, we were called and be seen within 10 minutes...there were no overbooking, we were seen at the exact time...this is a wonder for any dentist's office. He was friendly and kind. He did not talk down to my kids or blamed me for my kids' teeth problem. Believe me, there are many dentists out there who like to do blame games and guilt trips so as parents we would do/pay for anything they say that our kids would need whether they really need it or not. Dr. Gee was very honest and fair with the prices. He is one of a few who cares more about your kid's teeth than how much work and money he can charge your insurance or you. I really appreciated how he will try to find ways to solve my kids' issues with their teeth and not just a quick way to make money. But the most important thing of all is that my kids were not afraid of him. My kids had always had horrible experiences with dentists...our last one, always made my kids cried before going to his office and coming back...he always argued and blamed them for not brushing their teeth, and calling them liars when they told him they did brushed their teeth two times a day (which I always make sure they did it)...but now after being seen by Dr. Gee, my kids really okay with it...there were no more crying, anxiety, or being strapped down on the chair...as a parent, thank you , Dr. Gee, for treating my kids as a human being and for erasing their fear and what not. I highly recommended him If you are looking for a dentist. Give it a try, it will save you lots of frustrations and he won't lighten your pocket like most dentists out there. read more

Over 81 years I have received extensive oral care from U. S. military, University of Southern California dental school, and many other dental facilities ranging over several states. I am more impressed overall with the professionalism of Dr. Gee and his fine, friendly and knowledgable staff than any office in the past. read more

Disappointed to see a USC dentist work in such conditions. Cracked floors and dusty/rusty equipment. It felt like getting dental work done in a third world country. I was not offered to rinse my mouth after he finished. Had to find the bathroom and do it myself. He may be smart, but there should be some sort of a balance between being a good dentist and having a nice clinic. Looking elsewhere now... read more
