If it weren't for Dr Lin, I wouldn't have known about periodontal & orthodontic treatment that I desperately needed and he helped me coordinate treatments with my other doctors. Dr. Lin and his staff are extremely professional and welcoming. You can tell right away that Dr. Lin takes oral health very seriously. My teeth were long overdue for a cleaning, and I honestly couldn't believe how squeaky clean he got them. What I really appreciate about Dr. Lin is that he genuinely cares about his patients. Dr. Lin is one of the most knowledgeable dentists and will take his time to educate you!! I called numerous offices to try to get an appointment for cleaning. Everyone else had pricing of well over $250 (which included x rays for new patients). I was glad I came across Dr. Lin's because his pricing for a new patient (x rays + cleaning) were reasonably priced less than $200! They were also the only office that could get me in before my graduation! Everyone else was booked out 1 month! The check in process was super easy. You complete everything online so by the time you arrive to your appointment, they'll take you right in! I was in shock when I saw a huge TV screen in my room! Why didn't everyone else think of this genius idea?? The patients can't talk anyways! Might as well allow patients to watch something! Dr. Lin educated me on things I've never known about my own teeth! He took the time to explain everything to me and was super gentle! I didn't have any discomfort at all! He even gave me tips on what I can do at home to maintain my teeth. No other dental office would ever dare to give this advice! My appointment was super quick yet extremely thorough. Wow. I'm literally sitting in my car post appointment and am so blown away by how good my experience was at this dental office!!! I really hate going to the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned (like really really traumatized from childhood experiences, so admittedly I do not go as often as a should) and coming to see Dr Lin made me realize it doesn't have to be so bad! He made me feel at ease during the whole process which made time breeze by! Avoid at all cost! Fraud fraud fraud. This dental office submitted a claim to my husbands insurance for deep cleaning.. when in fact my husband never received a deep cleaning from this office. He went to see them for pain in his gums and they only did a regular cleaning. So I called our insurance to follow up on the claim status and they told me that this dental office confirmed the claim is correct. WTF! Wow! I cannot believe to describe how much of a wonderful experience I had at Dr. Lin's office. This is the first time I've had a nice and non-scary experience considering this is a dental appointment. Normally dentist offices are scary but Dr. Lin's office is very clean and very spacious. You can't tell from the outside that it will be this nice on the inside. He sees his patients every hour and he does the cleaning himself. Before he starts the process, he goes over the x-rays with you. Routinely and in the beginning, he would apply Vaseline on your lips to prevent dryness. His staff is also very gentle to dab your face frequently with tissue paper. He explains the areas of the teeth that you need work on in a pleasant and educative manner. Your visit will take up the whole hour but you'll leave satisfied. His office really tries to help out with coverage if additional PAs are necessary! I really appreciate that! He educated you on the types of mouthwash he recommends and his staff will educate on how to use the water pick. Today was my first visit for oral cleaning and examination. I was referred by my best friend. I am completely happy I decided to come to Dr. Lin. His staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. The office is extremely clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. They provide television with Netflix in the waiting room and inside the exam room. Dr David Lin is one of the best dentists I've ever had. He truly cares for your teeth and helps you make a plan to better caretake for them at home. He always holds up a mirror for me to see where my plaque and other issues are, and gives great advice about brushing (including tips on how to use an electronic toothbrush so it doesn't cause receding). He will clean your teeth super thoroughly and you will get more personal attention than at other dentists. There's Netflix to watch to distract you during the cleaning. Came here based on the 5 star Yelp rating and bc parklane dental stopped taking my insurance. It was definitely worth it. Dr. Lin was very thorough and patient with his explanations on my teeth conditions and the cleaning was smooth and easy. He even gave a big goodie bag with large bottles mouth wash and fluoride. Pretty generous. The front desk was also very kind and explained the costs of each procedure. They said they'll do their best to get the insurance to cover all the costs. This one is long overdue but honestly I'm glad I waited. The truth always comes out. When I started my new job I of course got new insurance so I was in the search for a new dentist. I came across Dr. Lins office and I was immediately a new patient. I loved how friendly the staff was, how up to date the facility was, and of course how welcoming the doctor was. So for the last two and a half years I have been a patient here, form the gecko I was told nothing would come out of pocket and that my insurance would pay for my visit and if I ever needed anything they will be there to help me. I was so in awww still on how nice the doctor was and very patient and Knowledgeable he was on everything including braces. On my second year I had gotten Invisalign with a orthodontist elsewhere but Dr. Lin made sure I was knowledgeable on how the process works since he said he used to be an orthodontist before. So for the last two years I had only seen Dr. Lin twice a year for cleaning since I never had any issues, to my knowledge both those years I never had any issues but I had mention to him at least twice from what I recall that I had notice my upper gum line receding and that there was some sensitivity. The first time I mention to him about the sensitivity he said I need to floss more and recommended I purchase a waterpik, and that I did. I immediately went to Costco and bought the exact waterpik he recommended. The second time I mention the sensitivity was almost 2 year later and he said it was normal and that I should switch toothpaste, he said I needed to use sensodyne and that should help. The sensitivity at this point was more then what I think anyone should have to handle and I couldn't understand why he wouldn't listen to me when I said it was hurting. So I left that day after my cleaning and I waited a couple days while using the new toothpaste to see if anything would change and it didn't, the pain and sensitivity was still there. I finally decided to call in and tell them that my upper teeth/gums hurt when I have anything cold or hott in my mouth. They said unfortunately Dr. Lin can't see me anymore since I already did my two cleanings for the year. I was so furious that I'm in pain and the doctor won't see me because they can't bill my insurance anymore since they already billed for the two cleanings for the year. I recall telling the office staff on the phone that I am in pain and my dentist won't see me, she said "no that he would have to refer me to a specialist". I asked "how can you refer me to a specialist if you don't even know that is going on in my mouth and neither does Dr. Lin since he never examined me for the pain and sensitivity I'm having". The office staff replied with "he doesn't do anything but Teeth cleaning", I was so so upset and I stated "what dentist only does teeth cleaning, and nothing else" As I started putting the puzzle pieces together I recall referring a really good friend of mine to this office and she was so happy that the staff was so friendly and the doctor was so nice but was confused as to why he only did her teeth cleaning and referred her to another dentist in Pasadena to do her cavity, which is the reason she was going to see the dentist. Red Flag but I didn't pay attention. So after they referred me to a specialist in Arcadia the doctor said the work that needed to be done was very minor and that my general dentist should do the work and was confused as to why I was being referred to him. He sent my result back to Dr. Lins office so they can see what should be done. Once Dr. Lin's office got my results from the specialist they still had the nerve to refer me to another general dentist office in arcadia. Now by this point I am so pissed, I have been on the phone with Dr. Lin's office more then I wanted to and it all came down to BILLING, Dr. Lin's office was billing my insure over $1,000 per visit every time I went in for a cleaning. Who bills $1,000 plus for cleaning. Yes this was partial my fault for not ever paying attention to my statements but they totally took advantage of me and my insurance. Every visit they would bill for things that I never even disused with them, or bill for things that had to do with our conversations like my sensitivity but that he did nothing for. After every visit I did sign a bill but it was never anything for the amount that I got in my statements for the last visit or close to it. Now it makes me wonder if all the other statements were ridiculous as well. Since I never had a reason to question them before about billing I would just discard my statements and never pay attention to them. I went to Dr. Lin's clinic today and I genuinely would love to say it was a very nice experience. I have never felt this welcomed at the dentists before. I'm TERRIFIED of going to the dentists and its one place I always dread to go to but I felt so welcomed and everyone was so nice! The assistants helped me get seated, and they were so gentle and nice. They made sure I was comfortable and helped me with my concerns patiently even though I wasn't completely sure. Even when taking the X ray, she made sure I was comfortable and was very gentle to make sure it didn't hurt me. They even opened up netflix for me, which was really a bonus in my book tbh because it distracted me from being scared (and I got to watch minions!!) Dr. Lin was also very patient with me and took his time to really look and address all my concerns. He explained really well of what I needed to do further. He was really accommodating. During the process, he made sure I was alright and was very gentle to not hurt me. I genuinely didn't feel a thing during my whole time there. He made sure to ask me if I was doing okay from time to time, you can tell he really cares about his patients. First let me preface this by saying that this is the first dentist appointment I've had in TWO whole years. (Don't judge me, insurance is expensive man lol) Fortunately, my new job has great benefits so I decided to take full advantage of them as soon as I could. That, coupled with my long time fear of dentists and basically anything that has to do with potential pain, made me feel very anxious and apprehensive once I made this appointment. But, alas, I knew it had to be done. I came in to Dr. Lin's office, nerves and all, and was warmly greeted by the front staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I filled out a few forms since it was my first time, and it took less than 5 minutes to be seen. One of the best parts is that during your appointment, you get to watch Netflix. If all doctors offices had that option, I'm sure people would complain less about waiting lol. Not that I even had to wait long at all. Dr. Lin greeted me shortly after I sat down in the chair and both he and his assistant asked me if I had any concerns/pain/anything bothering me. He took time to address my concerns and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding with the cleaning. Every part of the appointment, he explained what he was about to do, so I never worried about what was coming next. All in all, he just seemed very caring, knowledgeable and skilled-- you really can't ask for more in a doctor! Lastly, when I got back to the front they gave me a breakdown of the appointment and what my insurance would be billed, and then they even gave me a huge bag of some full sized goodies (whitener mouthwash, fluoride rinse, toothpaste, tooth brush, floss, the works!) This review is based on my initial conversation with Rebecca handling phone calls at this office. I called the office because I wanted to switch dentist and decided to give Dr. Lin's office a try. I explained to the girl on the phone that I have an upcoming regular teeth cleaning appointment with my existing dentist but wanted to take this opportunity to switch to Dr. Lin and do the teeth cleaning at his office instead. In addition to sending her my insurance info, I also asked about what my out-of-pocket fees were for the teeth cleaning procedure so I have a clear understanding of what my responsibilities are beforehand. She said she will check with the office and get back to me. But at the same time, she put me down for an appointment first in order to get me in the system. 10 minutes later, she texts me back and informed me that Dr. Lin suggested I stay with my current dentist and cancelled my appointment. I have never heard of such a practice from any medical office. They just blatantly turned me away as a new patient for no reasons. Their explanation was so I don't have to go through all the hassle to switch dentist. So this office makes decisions for potential patients? Isn't switching my dentist my own decision? In addition, the girl Rebecca just would not tell me what my out-of-pocket cost was. She kept going in circles telling me the same thing over and over again. "since we haven't seen you yet, we cannot tell you what your cost is". All I was asking was a ballpark number of what my responsibilities are. In addition, since she wasn't able to give me just the cost for a basic teeth cleaning procedure, I even asked her about the standard teeth filling cost as an example. It can even be a range. Again, she couldn't give me a straight answer. She just kept beating around the bush and wouldn't tell me. Finally, she just decided to put me on hold and conveniently vanished from the call. What kind of unprofessional office is this? If the person handling calls is incapable of talking to new patients and explaining all the details to them, she should not be answering the phone. In hindsight, i'm glad all of this transpired over the phone and this experience definitely flashed so much warning signs to me of this office. Upon entering I was greeted by Rena, who was super friendly and gave me directions on filling out my info/disclosures so I wouldn't be lost. I was then immediately taken to a room for X-ray. I loved that the staff was respectful of my time. Usually at other dental offices, I'd wait 10-15mins to be seen by the dentist. After settling me in a room, a staff member asked what I'd prefer to watch, as they have Hulu, Netflix, etc! Wow how cool is that? Needless to say, time flew by super fast when my eyes were being occupied. As far as my consultation with Dr Lin goes, he was very detailed and went over with me all my concerns and also suggestions on what he felt might best suit me. I felt that he sincerely cared about my overall well being rather than trying to upsell me like most other dental establishments. I've visited numerous dentists and though many were nice, I just didn't feel the kind of sincerity that I got at Dr Lin's office. Even in the end when Rena had to go over pricing and insurance with me, she mentions that they'll take care of everything so I don't have to contact my insurance for anything else. At the time of my visit I was switching between dental insurances and what could have been a hassle for me was fortunately absorbed by the assistants' of Dr Lin. Overall, I was super satisfied with my visit to Dr Lin's office. They even have coffee and juice for when you're waiting or if you brought kids! The office was also sparkling clean which I feel reflects everyone there's overall hygiene. And oh! I never had to call the office, they can communicate through text message which is amazing for people who work a 9-5 job and don't have the time to wait to speak with the dental assistants over the phone. They just recently reopened from shutting down for COVID in March. They had been closed for 3 months. They want to make sure to provide the safest environment for their patient and their staff. Mask is required to enter, and upon entering they offered me disposable vinyl gloves to wear for my safety and theirs. The staff also took my temperature for safety measures. They even have air purifier all around the dental office. I researched the brand of air purifier they used, it costs $300 on Amazon. Definitely high quality air purifier to provide a safe environment. Parking: there's plenty of free parking spaces in the lot behind their building. Make sure to park there to avoid street parking on the busy street of Live Oak. I have been going to Dr. Lin for a year now. All their dental room are equipped with a smart TV and the staff will nicely offer you the remote for you to select a Netflix or Youtube show you prefer. Before dental procedure, an assistant will provide you with a plastic splash guard glasses for your eyes. To prevent any water splashing into your eyes. During the operation or teeth cleaning they will continue to let you play the show of your choice. Dr. Lin takes the time to explain procedures, and after teeth cleaning he will show you the areas that you need to improve on flossing, with a hand mirror. Before procedure, Dr. Lin will put vaseline on your lips to prevent your lips from cracking. Because there's a doctor that's this attention to detail and care, that's why I always feel I accepted the best service at this dental office. They will also help you make the next appointment after the procedure. The front office ladies is always very nice as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I recall him saying that he hasn't had a cavity in nearly 50 years, or maybe even ever. ? Aside from filling my mind with all things dental, he was gentle yet thorough during the teeth cleaning, constantly making sure I was doing okay. The appointment took longer than expected but I didn't feel rushed even when he had to see his next patient. Before leaving, the receptionist gave a detailed explanation of the bill, a crash course on how to use the waterpik (which i already own and should really use more often =X), and also a large goodie bag filled with mouthwashes (full sized bottles), toothpastes, toothbrushes, and floss. Truly a pleasurable experience. I was recommended by a good friend who I was going on about finding the best dentist in the area. As soon as I stepped into their office, my jaw dropped. It was extremely modern. They had a nicely designed office, drinks, and shows while you have your teeth worked on. First thing I noticed was that their interior was extremely modern. The front desk was quick and helpful. Stepping into the room, all devices were new, modern, and very clean. The dentist here was different from past experiences. They made sure to teach me how to improve my dental health. They could tell the way I floss and brush my teeth by looking at my teeth and gum health. Their advice was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The most happy thing with my experience was that the dentist was more thorough in his cleaning. In the past, I felt like my dentist did a quick job and got messy. My dentist, David, was extremely careful and thorough with his work. He was aware of sensitive area in the mouth and was very careful. It was better than all the past dentists I went with. To sum it up, I really am pleased with my experience. I've been meaning to write my review for Dr. Lin for a long time. So here it is. I have been going to Dr. Lin for more than 10 years. He is exceptionally thorough in explaining and performing his procedures. He is very attentive to your needs. He cleans your teeth so well that my teeth are like brand-new after each cleaning. He's done my root canal since years ago. The tooth has shown no issue at all. Over the years, we have become a bit closer in patient-doctor relationship and talk about family, vacation etc. I look forward to seeing him and really enjoy chatting with him before he starts his treatment. I have 100% confidence in him and have no intention of going anywhere else for my dental needs. His office is very clean all the time. His staff is extremely nice and friendly, not to mention professional. I am so grateful to have Dr. Lin as my dentist. He is, no doubt, the best dentist I have ever known. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Lin for some time now and every time we get our teeth cleaned we leave with a bright white smile and a full heart! Everyone in the office is friendly and professional. The office space is very classy. Every time I walk in, it feels very comfortable but at the same time very high class. Every room has a tv that has Netflix and Hulu and other channels for you to catch up on your shows. What better way to utilize your time when you're getting your teeth cleaned! There's a large parking lot in the back of the office and a nice big waiting room with drinks to your liking. Dr. Lin is very personal and professional. I have been very stressed with an ill fitting crown during my orthodontic treatment. I described the issue and sent xrays to Dr. Lin to request an appointment to have him make a good crown for me. I am impressed that even though I am not his patient, he took the time to explain, sharing his advice freely to help me get the best possible outcome. He was very sympathetic to my problems. He went beyond the call of duty to help me get the best possible outcome and gave me a good referral. Had my first visit with Dr. Lin this past week. He's amazing! He genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer any of your questions thoroughly. He doesn't rush through his explanation or make you feel stupid for not understanding these "dental terms" or pop in quickly and rushing to see other patients before you can think of questions to ask- like some other dental offices do. His work is meticulous, thorough, gentle and professional. He really cares about the comfort of his patients through out the whole process- from the first step you take into the office.
