It's been quite a while since our last visit to Jason's. We decided to meet some friends here for dinner. The kids' meals are a good value, they include a main and beverage and then everyone gets self serve soft serve ice cream included with their meals. Service is really kind of minimal. You order at a counter and pay there. Then you pick up salad plates (if you ordered salad bar) and get your drinks at the self serve beverage bar. After you seat yourselves they bring your prepared meals to you. Everything was good. Nothing was over the top great; but for what it is, it works! Sandwiches in Pensacola FL - 2 of 2 If staying in Pensacola and not staying at the beach, that means you will be staying in town or one of the adjoining cities. If so, you will most likely have to drive on Pensacola Blvd., Davis Hwy., Nine Mile Rd., Airport Blvd., and Brent Lane. I always get a chuckle out of driving on Brent Lane, given that that could so easily be someone's name ... and probably is. Getting back on track, I've driven down Airport Blvd. many times when in the area over the last 20 years and have seen Jason's Deli. It's an attractive enough store, with parking out front, so I decided this would be the trip on which I'd check off the box to try Jason's Deli. I was hoping to get in while it was still daylight, but made it in much later, slightly before closing. The store is also nicely maintained inside. I went to the counter where the service was very friendly. Remember that this is the South ... and not South Florida. The young lady there answered my questions as I tried to decide on a sandwich. The sandwich, presented on a croissant with sliced turkey, cheese, greens, and avocado was tasty. It went down the hatch quickly. That said, it was very good, but not substantial. Also, they serve potato chips with many of the sandwiches. While delis do do that, it's not what I would consider a satisfying side, nor a very healthy one unless you pay attention and choose the baked potato chips. I was looking around and getting a feel for the place. Like others have mentioned, the salad bar does look appetizing. Additionally, they have many other sandwiches and platters to choose from. Because of the inviting and clean interior and very good service, I'll go with 3 strong stars. I was really hoping for a more filling sandwich platter, since this would be dinner. With its good vibes, I would be open to returning to this or any other Jason's location to try other things to see if there is something that wows me. But, for now, I'm going to go with this rating. read more

First time visitors to Jason's Deli. I must say I miss the days of salad bars and super bars being everywhere from fast food joints to full service family dining restaurants. Well, Jason has travelled back in time, resurrected the salad bar, and improved it by offering a plethora of add-ons like sandwiches, soups, and proteins, and after that they offer free ice cream for dessert! The dining area is similar to Panera Bread, albeit it comes across as a little bit of a higher end establishment. The staff are friendly and unobtrusive, to the point that they don't really offer any addition care or service after serving any foods you might have ordered in addition to the salad bar. Knowing what to expect is half the battle. Now I know, and I know I'll be back. If you like the salad bars of yesteryear, this is a great place, you should plan a visit. read more

I love this place. The service is always 100% from every employee. The salad bar is to die for, everything is always so fresh and the bar is always so neat and clean. It has everything you need to make a meal. Our sandwiches were hot and the chicken was perfect. The bathrooms could use a little sprucing up. We will return. read more

The salad bar is beyond amazing. Every time I go, it gets better. And the free ice cream is chef's kiss.

It is a good place for quick deli sandwiches, but a really good salad bar. It's a chain so little variation, you know what you're getting.

My boyfriend & I have ordered several times & we love the sandwiches. I personally love their soups! We've never been on so I can't speak to service or ambiance, but I'm surprised it has an over all 3.5. I've always been satisfied :) great food, quality & prices. read more

My best friend had a hankering (wow - does that point out my age or what?!) for a sandwich & I had a hankering for a steak. So we compromised and had a sandwich! Jason's Deli has been such a favorite of mine over the years. It's hard to believe that it's my first visit to our local location in years. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how spacious it was. Then, and more importantly - I noticed the desserts! Everyone was so welcoming and not just when we walked in but I interacted with other employees during the course of lunch & there is just always that smile! Great Jason's Deli location. I had the Managers special 1/4 muffeletta, chips, salad bar, iced tea, & dessert. All for under $15 (+ tax & tip). A great value considering another restaurant that I went to, it was close to $20 for the salad bar (only) plus a drink. The muffeletta was generously loaded with meat, the salad bar was clean and well stocked. They had chilled plates and a friendly & courteous staff. If you have been soured on Jason's Deli based on experience at another location (like I had been), give this Pensacola Fl location a try - you will not be disappointed. read more

I always enjoy any meal I get from Jason's deli one of my favorites is the tomato basil soup it's nice and hearty, & chunky, When getting a sandwich I tend to stick to the club royale it's never let me down with delicious ham turkey and crispy bacon lettuce and tomato you can't go wrong with that. I love the fact that when you do eat inside they have the free ice cream for dessert. This last visit we also decided to try the ranchero wrap it was bursting with flavors from the jalapeños the pico de gallo, cheese & ranch dressing it's definitely one that I'll come back and try again it also came with blue corn tortilla chips and salsa. I chose Jason's Deli for a late light dinner meal at around 8pm, and so my Club Royale sandwich with BBQ chips and iced water with lemon wedges was just right. It was hot and fresh on a large croissant with applicable vegetables and spread. While this small sandwich cost $12.35 with taxes, it was tasty compared with other sandwich places. I really enjoy this place! The food is great! Service is decent, depending on who is the cashier. The people who bring you the food are alot friendlier than some of the cashiers. Basically, you order and pay at the front, get a number and put it at your table. Then they bring you the food. My favorite sandwiches there are the Amy's Turkey-O sandwich and the Wild Salmon-wich. There's a complimentary muffin, mixed nuts and seeds, garlic toast, pickled peppers, and crackers bar that you can sample with your orders. If you want hot sauce, the bottles are on top over there. The garlic toast is my favorite! So light, crunchy, flavorful, and airy! Great with soups! Best part??? You get free ice cream with your order! It's vanilla, chocolate, or swirl soft serve and you can put it in a cone or cup. Added bonus is the chocolate syrup that they provide. The Amy's Turkey-O has turkey breast, avocado, pepper jack cheese, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and spicy mustard, on an onion bun.The Wild Salmon-wich has salmon, guac, tomatoes, lettuce, aioli, on focaccia bread. You get a side of baked or regular chips or steamed veggies (carrots, broccoli, etc.) with your sandwiches. If you want soup instead, there is a small upcharge. I had the vegetable tomato bisque and it tasted wonderful with the added grated mozzarella cheese on top. I also like to add tabasco sauce to my sandwichs and it tastes great! I haven't tried their salad bar, but my friend loves it! She said their pasta salads on the salad bar tastes good and the veggies are fresh. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the facility. The area behind the counter where the food is being prepared is disgusting. The floor is littered with food and trash and you can even see it all under the counters. The place needs a good dusting as the window sills are dusty and the walls have what looks like salad dressing splatters on them by the booths. Also, when I went to get my salad tray, the worker wiped down a tray for me and set it on the counter. Another worker then came from the dining area with a dirty tray and put it on top of mine. I took the dirty tray off my tray and handed it to the worker behind the counter. That worker then reached into the cooler to get my 3 salad bowls. One of them had dried cheese on it and I pointed it out to the worker who just grabbed a new one and put the one with cheese back in the cooler. My son was eating his salad and said that it tasted like it had blue cheese on it, and we smelled and tasted the white cheddar shreds he had on it and they smelled and tasted sour. I usually like Jason's Deli's,  but this one does not seem sanitary and the workers do not seem to care. I will not be visiting this place as I already had a bad experience here a year ago with dirty dishes. read more

I am a fan of Jason's because of the lovely salad bar! It has so many options including chocolate mousse and hummus. This location is great, although expect it to be packed on a Sunday for lunch. That surprised us to find very few empty tables at 1PM. Hubby opted for one of his favorites, the Club Royale sandwich and he said it was great! You can order half a sandwich and one trip to the salad bar if you want. Tip if you want soup order the salad bar, plus a cup of soup. It is cheaper to order that way. The food is consistently good and the staff was friendly. read more

Got a plane salami sandwich. Not to good. Plain white bread was stale. Salami edges were darker then the rest of the slice. Old salami. Edges were not as tender as center. Was to go. Usually excellent experience. Based on previous visits that wont keep me away. read more

What happened to this wonderful place? They changed the all you can eat salad bar to a single serving bar. Yes, they lowered the price a bit, but now you have to mound the ingredients in order to get everything. I probably ate less being able to return then I did feeling like you had to load up to get your value. Also ... what happened to the great seeded crackers they used to provide? Now they have boring saltines. They also took out the topping for the ice cream bar? Why? And what's with providing plastic gloves to wear at the salad bar? I can see providing hand sanitizer, but gloves? That seems like overkill. The only saving grace is that the quality of the produce is still good and the have really good varied greens. read more

I've been to roughly 50 Jason's across the US and this is the first I've ever seen that has a drive through. Pretty amazing for a place that prides itself on fresh sandwiches, a good salad bar and solid service. The restaurant looks like it opened yesterday. And, it's one of the chain's best looking locations. Meanwhile, the salad bar was one of the poorest I've seen thusfar. The salad wasn't green and crisp like it normally is and the veggies didn't match their peer locations, they didn't seem fresh. It also took 15 minutes for my meal to arrive at the table, which is light years for this place. On the other hand, it's a great place for lunch. The endless salad options, potatoes, soups and salad bar make for an inexpensive and good lunch, that keeps you on the healthy side of the fence. There's no other place in town like it. And, the sandwiches here are several grades above what you'd get a Subway, etc. read more

This review is for the strawberry short cake only! Although the rest of the establishment offers lots of tasty sandwiches and a well-assorted salad bar, the strawberry shortcake is out of this world . If you have ever visited Burris market in the Gulf Shores area (known for their strawberry shortcake counties over)this is a formidable rival. Literally, I would come here just to eat the strawberry shortcake. I took one bite and felt like I was floating on a cloud of angel food cake that melted over my senses in strawberry splendor. I eat here for lunch a couple times a week. Staff is usually pretty nice and good is fresh. It's busy during peak hours but the busses clear tables fairly quickly. One of the few places I would recommend in the area. Has more than just tasty salads. read more
