I booked an appointment at 5:45 for dipping powder manicure and pedicure. This was my first time going there. When I first walked in I was sent to do my pedicure first that took one hour. After I was done I asked when someone is going to start on my manicure. I was told was told another 45 minutes wait because there was 2 people ahead of me. What's the point of an appointment if I had to wait. My first impression when I first walked in was shocking to me. This place was smelly and dirty. It was so unsanitary, I'm not going to go back but this place needs attention from state board. read more

I went about a month ago & these baddies are still going at it strong. Jason's is pretty pricey (these were $55) but they do a great job. It's better paying more for a great job than paying more for a trash job. It's always packed though and making appointment doesn't always work too well. It's an amazing place and I've been coming here for years. They entire salon is super nice but parking can be a hassle. It's about 7 parking spaces available. read more

Alright let's begin by saying how unprofessional this place is. I went in on a Monday to get my nails done. Super quiet, one other customer in there. My nails get worked on super quick. Mind you I came in for a fill. I already had acrylic nails so I just needed a color change. I sat down and I immediately told the nail tech I wanted powder on my nails because I've had bad experiences with the gel nail polish. She refused to apply powder (this should have been my first red flag) but I continue to let her do the gel polish because I found a pretty color. After my nails were finished, they looked amazing. Whatever I paid and the next day, the nails began to chip. The color slowly started coming off. I was extremely upset but wasn't able to go the next day to get them fixed since they were close for Lunar Year. I called the following day ( Wednesday) and I spoke with the lady who did my nails from the start. I asked if I could come in and get my nails done at 4:15-4:30 and explain the whole situation. As I walked in to the place, she recognized me and sat me down. She asked me to pick out another color and I repeated that I wanted powder instead of liquid. She then told me I had to wait because there were customers in there waiting. (why make an appointment if you won't follow through ) she then began working on my nails and took off ALL of the gel polish that she had done Monday. I pick out my powder color and then the owner (Jason) begins to talk to me and ask me what's the problem. I told him and he said well "she will only be fixing the two nails that came in chipped" (mind you this was after all the gel polish was off) and I quickly told him no that's not happening because she already took of all the polish and I have pictures to prove that not only two were chipped. He continues to ignore and talk to her in their language. I said since she took her work off, I want my money back. He then said " oh no I can't do that" so you have to wait until everyone is done then we can help you. She asked to come tomorrow (Thursday) but I can't. The refused to give me my money back and made a big deal of something that should have been an easy fix. I decided to walk out and let them have my money. Obviously they need it more than I do. I have learned my lesson and never coming back! This is ridiculous! This place is filthy, unprofessional and should be shut down. THIS IS WHY I STOPPED GOING TO NAIL SALONS IN REDWOOD CITY! THEY DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU! read more

A couple months ago they would have been a 5 star. You make an appt. and even if you get there on time you have to wait more than half an hour. I always waited because I liked the endless options of colors. Price isn't an issue, but when you're overcharged for something you've done before for way cheaper, then it becomes a problem. Seriously this guy have another yelp page. He is so unprofessional and I'll never forget about that time before my wedding ceremony. I was recommended by a friend who was really happy with this place. It was her first time during that time so she told me about this place. So I made an appointment a week in advance. On the day of the appointment, he wasn't there. So the lady asked me what I wanted. I told her I need a mani and a pedi. She said she can start with my pedi while I wait for Jason. 30 min had past and he still haven't show up (starting to get annoy). I asked her when is he going to arrive. She said maybe 15 min later. So I waited and still no sign of him. She told me to call him. I'm like looking at her, and told her I don't have his number. So she gave me his number and I called him couple of time and it goes to voicemail. While my pedi was done, and there is still no sign of Jason. I made an appointment 1 week in advance and he doesn't even show up. I was getting really irritated. I been waiting for him over an hour. People start coming in sitting there and to find out they were all waiting for Jason. The staff there started mumbling and laughing speaking in Vietnamese, saying "oh, Jason again." I'm losing my patience with this guy and thinking where can I get my nails done before my wedding in two days. I was clearly done with this salon. I storm out so angry in tears. Jason is so unprofessional, unapologetic (the staff), flaky, untrustworthy, and irresponsible. He probably went out partying that night, drinking his brains out, and didn't even wake up for his clients the next day. I'm so angry and will never return to this trashy, dirty looking salon. Be warn, even if you make an appointment with him, don't bother because he either make you wait or he doesn't show up. Don't waste your time. I was lucky enough another salon took me in and did an awesome job. Told them my story about Jason, and to find out it's not new to them. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who had complaint about him. Oh, the friend who recommended me to this place, she's getting marry too and she booked and appointment. She came to work telling me horrible story about Jason too. So she booked in advance and to find out he didn't show up either for her. So Vivian end up doing her nails. It is not an expensive or fancy place. It is place to go and have your nails done in informal setting. If you have kids, you can bring them there and they will not feel intimidated. The massage chairs are new and very nice. They use disposable covers in the foot spa. The choice of colors is good. The decor is bit weird. White walls, Audrey Hepburn mural, I do not know what they are going for. The radio is streaming some sort of music which is loud and hard to understand. If you do not like kids and looking for fancy experience to just close your eyes and sit there, that is probably not the place for you. If however, you wants mani -pedi done fast and last long time and not pay tons of money for ambiance, it is perfect. read more

Best place in the Peninsula. Hands down he is shittin on all the nail shops!! He knows his shiit!! And the wait is worth it. Him an his nail techs all do good work. So on the day before Christmas Eve I wanted a new set so I called around 3 hours earlier to see if they would have time to attend me. I called and asked if I could possibly make an appointment around 6 and they said that I could just do a walk in. So I get there at 5:45 with my friend and told them I called earlier. They said to take a seat and they attended my friend first because she was getting a pedicure. I waited almost 2 hours patiently to get attended. I understood that it was the day before Christmas Eve and they had a lot of people but they could've told me they weren't going to have time to do my nails when I called hours earlier. As soon as my friend was done she payed and I told them I didn't want to wait anymore and all the woman at the register said is ok. She didn't say sorry about that or anything. I'm giving Jason's 1 star because every single time I come in they give me an inaccurate wait time. Which normally has me waiting over a hour to get my nails done. Not only was I waiting for a hour, 2 other women got taken before me (no they did not have appointments) with not even having to wait 15 minutes. I'm so disappointed & I can see how they treat other costumers with more respect if they have been going to Jason's for awhile & I would not recommend coming here unless you have all day to wait to get your nails done. read more

Came in as a new client and lets get started by saying Jason does amazing, top quality work and at a reasonable price. The only reason why I did 4 stars is because he charge me $50 for a full gel set with rhinestones on two fingers and he charge the girl before me $40 and she had rhinestones on almost every finger in additional to foil on all her nails and also one of the rhinestones on my design fell 3 days after :( read more
