I've been a regular because I usually like their work, but my recent experience has been frustrating. I came in to get my nails done, and they started peeling just two days later. I returned to get them fixed, and while they initially said yes, I ended up waiting 30 minutes before they started. Once they were done, my nails still felt floppy and poorly done, so I politely asked for them to be fixed again. This time, I had to wait another two hours just to get them redone -- and I could hear staff mumbling things about me, which felt really uncomfortable and unprofessional. This isn't the kind of service I expect from a place I've been loyal to. I understand being busy, but overbooking and rushing through appointments affects the quality and respect towards customers who are trying to support your business. Susan, I'm honestly shocked by your response. Those photos are 100% my own nails--accusing me of taking them from the internet is not only false but incredibly disrespectful. Instead of taking accountability, you're deflecting and trying to discredit me as a customer. I came in with a genuine issue, waited hours to have it fixed, and stayed patient through all of it--even when I heard staff talking about me behind my back. I never "insisted" on anything--I just wanted my nails done right, which I paid for. It's disappointing to be treated like this after being a loyal customer. I made an appointment today for 3 people , 4:15pm . We arrived on time and got seen at 4:50pm , cool. However the first woman I had working on my toes was nice at first, then when I asked her for a acrylic tip on my toe because my nails were uneven she refused and hesitated I told her I'd pay extra I didn't mind and she mumbled something under her breath got up and got the things for the acrylic toes. I was working on my phone and hadn't realized she put a HUGE blob of acrylic on my toe NO TIP! I told her I wanted a TIP on BOTH big toes , she got annoyed rolled her eyes mumbled under her breath and called another woman. The second woman came and put a tip on my right toe , I told her I didn't want the acrylic blob on my left toe and she removed it. She was much nicer , quiet , however she was in a COMPLETE RUSH . I left immediately after my service , as soon as I began walking in my home I felt pain to my right toe. Now it's 10pm , I cannot stand on my feet because the acrylic is pouring over into my cuticles and digging into my skin. My right toe nail is actively bleeding . I texted Susan's number and they left me on READ . Horrible service , I do not recommend. Not sure why they over book and rush on clients. I'll be going to the urgent care because I do not want any infections and I'll be contacting the city & state because this is ridiculous and unacceptable. For this to happen raises many red flags first of all are their techs licensed? 0/0 never returning. read more

This was my 2nd time coming here. The first time, I made an appt. When I got there, Sarah was working on another customer. No big deal, but it was about 30 minutes before she got to me. Although I didn't expect the wait considering I made an appt, her work was very nicely done which is why I came back today but a bad experience this time. I made an appt for 4pm. I was about 10 minutes late due to traffic. Sarah greeted me, as she was finishing up with another customer and I checked in with their kiosk. After 5 minutes, Sarah told me to have a seat at one of the stations. At that time I noticed she had another customer sit at her station. Another lady came to work on my nails. I was a bit confused because the appt was with Sarah especially since I really liked her work. I told her I wanted a fill but wanted GelX instead this time so she told me I would have to take off my nails and get a new set. Ok no big deal. So she returned with a bowl of acetone and told me to soak my nails. I spent a total of 50 minutes SOAKING. My skin was slightly burning and I was getting uncomfortable sitting there. I took my hands out and the other lady came back, looked at them and said another 5 minutes. At this time another 10 minutes passed and all of the workers were doing pedicures so there was no way I was going to get done anytime soon. Finally the lady came back and I told her to just finish taking off the acrylic and that's all I wanted because it was just taking way too long. While I was soaking , 3 other ladies came in with appointments and ended up leaving after they saw that I had been just sitting there for almost an hour with nothing done yet. I can say Sarah does nice work, but the customer service is terrible. I think they overbook, take too many walk-ins , and have no awareness of the amount of wait time that builds up. My skin still had remnants of the acrylic stuck on my skin that wasn't removed the right way. This was something I could have done at home with a nail clipper and a simple emery board. Definitely not even worth $15 after all that. There also wasn't any sense of being apologetic and didn't seem to care about the situation. If you make an appointment expect to wait until there's an opening or someone else is available and plan to be there much longer than expected. I've gone to bigger nail salons with a larger clientele, and never waited with having an appointment. My opinion is they need to be more considerate of their customers. read more

I came in yesterday for a pedicure and full set acrylic with French tips. Thao did my pedicure and my toes have ever looked this good! She did an amazing job with the French, shaping and asking if I thought it looked okay! My hands not so much... The lady who did my nails was nice but it seemed like she rushed through and did them so sloppy. The French and shape was uneven and when I asked if she would try to even it out, she started getting upset at me. I explained that I wanted them to look good because I had to pay for them, I eventually gave up trying to tell her what I didn't like about it because it seemed to me she was getting mad. All I was trying to do was respectfully speak up about what I didn't like about my nails. $115 later, I still did not like them. I ended up going to the store and getting a nail file and some white polish so I can fix them myself. I've been here multiple times and never had any issues with my nails like this. Thao has done my nails in the past and they have been beautiful every single time. I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but I don't think I'll be back for a while. read more

I've had a very disappointing experience with Susan--not just once, but twice. The first time, I asked if she could have me out by 2 PM, and she said yes. When I arrived, she was start to work on another client and hadn't even started on me, so I had to leave and reschedule. The second time, I called her and she told me to come in right away. I went there, but she wasn't even at the salon. The people there said they only do pedicures, not nails. I tried calling her three times while I was there, and she didn't answer. Susan gives appointments but doesn't follow through. Either you'll be seen late, or no one will be available at all. It's completely unprofessional and shows no respect for people's time. I finally found my go-to nail salon! Sarah is the BEST! It's been difficult finding a skilled nail tech around the San Mateo County area that charges at an affordable price. I got an ombré full set with a 3D flower design and I absolutely love how my nails came out. Sarah pays so much attention to detail and she knows how to do so many designs. My nails are literally perfect. My gel pedicure was also amazing because they did a hot stone massage treatment! I was in and out of the salon within 2 hours, getting a full service done. I got a gel manicure on Saturday, July 8. On Monday, July 10 my nails were already chipping. It's Tuesday, July 11 and two of my nails already came off. I don't know if the salon is under new management but when I went in, there were all new people and Susan was not there. The place looks different then what it was. Literally terrible customer service. She first claimed the nails were $55 then presumed to charge $65, and on top of that one of the lady literally gossip in Vietnamese and making rude comments of clients. Extremely disrespectful especially when a client is excited get their nails done once in a while as a treat for themselves yet came across a horrible experience that put down other people and their parents -- All while I understood everything and suddenly she laughed realizing I understood what she had said about me in Vietnamese. Already had a horrible day and wanted to try a new salon, yet made the day even worse. I was sitting in that chair feeling super uncomfortable, thus if you want a good possible place that genuinely respect their clients, please go to a different salon. All of the customers there seemed like a local while I stumbled upon this salon and was a first timer and a last one for sure ;) Didn't pay to be put down and never asked for their two cents upon me. I went on Saturday for a 4pm appointment-- had to wait 30 minutes before being tended to. Unacceptable! The other lady who also arrived at 4 pm had to wait a whole hour before her nails were started. Someone else got up and left mid-service because she was frustrated, she also had been there for hours. To top it all off, my tech used an old nail brush to wipe the powder off my nails and my fingers started to itch. By the time I got home (at 6pm!!!) I noticed bumps all around my nail beds! Gross! I have seen this place take walk-ins right before its usual closing time many times so when I drove all the way there from Foster City, last night I was hoping for the same treatment. I arrived around 6:30, due to all the traffic and my physical function issues preventing me from getting out of my house any earlier that day. When I arrived the door was open and all the ladies were just sitting around. They said we had a party and we're closed. I told them my struggle to get there and they didn't care and just said, why didn't you come earlier. I had seen no notification online that they would be closed that day for something private. There were no customers in the store. I left pissed!!! I had to drive all the way back home to get shoes because of this. If they were closed, then their sign shouldn't have said open with their door open, lights on with all their workers sitting at different stations as if they were waiting on customers to come. The ladies there do an absolute amazing job at different types of nails from nails, from regular polish, gel or shellac, acrylic & gel extension. They are very friendly and helpful. They need to work on making sure if they have an appointment scheduled they actually honor it. Negatives & health hazards are the same dirty files are used and reused on everyone. By proper sanitation standards they are supposed to open it in front of you from a sealed bag. They don't do that and actually looked shocked or annoyed when you ask them for a clean file. This is why people get nail fungus at salons, they don't disinfect they equipment properly. These instruments such as nail files, buffers, one time use. The instruments they use to do nails are not properly disinfected. Alcohol is not proper disinfectant. They need to put it in the machine that heats it and kills the bacteria. While it may seem as those steps are being extra, it's health & safety, especially with these new viruses that keep coming about. They used to be very clean back in Menlo Park, but lately it's gone down hill. The chair where you sit should be disinfected, the handles, the table, they don't because they get so busy. I would love to go back if they start implementing these changes. Having them do eyebrow waxing in chairs is not very clean either. It should be done in a private room. read more
