This is a food processing and distribution facility located in an industrial park. There is nothing fancy about it. I like the smoked Polish sausage from here and the freshly sliced lunch meats and cheeses. They have custom butchered meats in the back and prices are reasonable. I won't buy fish from them anymore since getting instantly really ill on tuna steak. There is a parking lot but since they are only open to the public on Saturdays it is usually packed so there is street parking available. I have gone to Jasper's two times. On first occasion I bought $85 worth of filet mignon. It was the toughest piece of meat. I think I've cooked in five years. Just because my wife begged me we went there to buy some ground beef for a Mother's Day barbecue. It was literally gritty. When cooked it had the consistency of a piece of rubber. Great place to shop. Only open on Saturday mornings. They are a wholesale pork wholesaler. Unusually good prices on pork products but also a good selection of beef. Grind their own beef on site. There are always butchers at the butchers counter to cut your steaks whatever size you want. I always go for one thing and end up bringing home $80 worth of meat. read more

Why have I waited so long to check out Jasper meats?! They have a large selection of all kinds of quality meats and the prices are very reasonable. They also have breakfast foods, lunch meat, sauces, buns, there's a lot to pick from! They pack a lot in a small warehouse type store. It's really hidden in an area with warehouses and commercial businesses. They're only open to the public on Saturday mornings. We were very curious and weren't disappointed. It's very intuitive. You walk in at the back of the building. There's two cashiers as you enter. Wind your way past frozen cabinets that take you toward the back to the fresh meats. Butchers are there to weigh and pack your meats. The prices are very reasonable and the quality very good. No minimums and no club fees. The bins of chicken were off putting according to my wife. I didn't have a problem with open cases that people were touching with gloves. Sliced deli meats were not great brands. We're very picky. There are also a potpourri of dressings and sauces. Not sure why. Nothing special. They also have shrimp and various types of fish. Everyone was helpful and friendly, We felt like it was worth our time and will return. read more

Am a first time customer today and can only give 4 stars because I have as yet to actually taste what I purchased You can read all the other reviews complaining about the crowds. Long lines. Etc and they may all be true but my experience was not like that. Possibly due to the fact I arrived at 11 AM. Everyone I came into contact with, from the lady who serviced the pre-order table to the half dozen butchers and finally the two cashiers were extremely nice and courteous. The crew at the butcher counter ( and they are right there in front of you separated by only a low lying counter) were jovial helpful accommodating and genuinely nice to deal with. They were under constant pressure to cut this and that yet at no time was it displayed negatively in their customer service approach. Really a nice bunch of guys and gals to deal with at the butcher counter Likewise the two cashiers were very helpful in answering my"newbie" questions. This is a Polish purveyor of pork, veal, chicken, beef and fish. They mainly supply local Polish deli's and grocery stores commercially. Regarding the review by the same guy who bashed this place twice with the same negative comments and 1 Star rating, you need to talk to Andy about the grade of beef, not one of the butchers cutting it IDIOT. I've been going here for years. Choice beef here is always fresh, steaks are cut in the thickness you want right in front of you. NY's and Ribeyes are excellent. Ground Beef is made with trimmings from the Ribeyes and Strips and is also exceptional. I love their Pierogi in the freezer and burgers come in 1/2lb, 1/3lb and 1/4lb boxes. Polish sausage is excellent, hand cut bacon is to die for. They have an excellent smoked sausage which is super cheap and samples of it every Saturday. They sell a TON of it. Refrig cases have every kind of sausage and Bratwurst you can imagine. Their pre-order specials are great. Where else can you get 5 slabs of baby backs for $26.00. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are the largest slabs of bird I've ever see, usually around $1.69lb and I'm in the hospitality industry. Great place. Love Jasper Meats. read more

What a great little place! I got about $18 worth of meats and fish today including boneless, skinless chicken breast, 6 veal sausages, 5 smoked sausage, cod filets and smoked bacon! If you like cured meats and fresh meats, this is a pretty good place to find good deals. I appreciated their little tasting station where they had cheese, sausage and ham. It does get a little crowd-y since it's open only on Saturdays. Check their website for deals before you stop by :) I will be back when I crave sausage once again! read more

Jasper Meats is a wholesale meat market that, happily for avid carnivores, decides to go retail once a week on Saturdays. In practice, this means you get some absurd deals on bulk meat. $1.69 / pound for boneless skinless chicken breasts, for example. The last time I saw chicken going for that low, it was the 1990s. Today was cod day, for something like $2.59 / pound. There is something of a minimum (~5 pounds) which is what explains the prices, but I'd be paying a whole lot more elsewhere. Post-cooking, the meat seems to be of pretty high quality. They also sell stuff to cook with your meat at less-insane prices. It's tucked away in an industrial park just north of Carol Stream, but Jasper is worth checking out if you want to stock up. read more

I found this place by accident last year and am glad I did. My only regret is I live in the coty and they seem to put their ads in suburban papers, so when I go it is always a surprise what is on sale! I wish it was on theor website. This weekend I went just to get polish sausage. I prefer a different brand but this is less expensive and my 2nd choice. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had ribeye and strip steaks for $3.00 and $4.00 lb! They looked great so I got 2 ribeyes. They were almost 3 lbs total and cost me $8.90!!!! They were very good when I cooked them. I am looking forward to catching a special like that again. A month or so ago I caught a great deal on salmon for just over $3 for a 1 lb filet. I stocked up on them for my roommie who eats salmon for lunch almost every day at work. I was paying $4.99 at the grocery store for a 4 oz portion before that! He is ona pork strike, so I have ot been able to take advantage of their pork specials. If you are in the area you should give them a try. They are very friendly and helpful. read more

What happened to ALL the reviews ? There where close to a 100 . This place has the worst meat anywhere . ITS NOT GRADED ! Can you understand that ? Ask any employee who is dressed in their FAKE butcher costume what the grade of beef they sell . You will only get a snap back answer , " we only sell black angus " . I imediatately reply " black angus is the breed of the cow , NOT THE GRADE OF THE BEEF .He went comatose and walked away . Much better beef at any grocery store . Always check the labels . Dont forget USDA INSPECTED mean Nothing as to the GRADE . Grades that are sold in grocerey are the following . PRIME , CHOICE AND COMERCIAL . JASPERS only says USDA INSPECTED , which means nothing . If you have actually bought and consumed their product and reviewed it at more then one star , you must have been raised on elephant ears . read more

Very over rated. They sometimes have some good fish, and decent skirt steak, but when it comes to good cuts of beef, they definitely leave a lot to be desired. We've tried getting their ribeye steak a couple times, and they just weren't that good. Very little marbling, very little juice, and just tough in general (cooked medium rare to perfection). If you want a good steak, skip Jasper and head down the road to Costco. read more

For the life of me I can't understand these other reviews. I went there for.the.first time to see what it's all about. I knew that they were a wholesaler. I expected a lower.then normal price for "choice" or "prime" beef. When I picked a NY strip I noticed thatST it was a touch more then COSTCO down the street. I checked to see if it was marked "prime"beef but nary A hint of the grade. Nothing! Not good. If it was choice or prime they would be proud of it and make sure that anyone who picked it up would see the grade. I asked one of the help, replete with butchers apron and hat, what the grade was and he immediately barked "ITS all angus beef". I replied angus is a type of cow not a grade. Heming and hawing he would not give me an answer of either "choice"or "prime" beef just "all angus". Which means it's neither one. Hence it is "select" a grade just above "utility " which is not fit for human consumption. End of story. Still buying great CHOICE or PRIME at Costco. read more

This is a huge find. Great meat and great savings on weekly meat purchases. The bacon is the best. They are only open on Saturday until 1 PM I believe but they are worth it.
