If you're in the mood for Chipotle but want locally sourced food, this is your spot. It's a little pricier than the mega-chain version to reflect that, though. Also, they have a kids menu, but the pricing varies (on two separate visits, we ordered the exact same kid's bowl and the price was $3 different!). This place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We went for breakfast, as java and burritos make my world go 'round.   You order at the counter and tell them what you want as you go down the line of options.  There were perhaps two other parties seated at tables when we got in.  It wasn't busy and we certainly weren't holding up any lines, but they were clearly annoyed that we didn't order faster. There were a ton of options for things to add and everything looked fresh and delicious.  Beware the hefty upcharges for many additions.  They have a separate little coffee counter and the ability to do anything from plain coffee to fancy lattes - both of which hit the spot - and it turns into a margarita bar at night! read more

I am so glad we learned about this gem of a place during our Savor the Low Country (Wexford) tour yesterday! We knew from the taco sampling we had then that we would be coming back. We just had chicken tacos (you can choose flour or corn tortillas, we chose corn) filled with cilantro lime rice and so many other fresh options. I ordered a side of guacamole and chips, and I am very impressed with the flavor and quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. Found this place when we were having a chipotle craving, but, there's no chipotle on HHI and after looking at the pics and reading some of the reviews we realized it was almost the same thing! Setup is very similar where you walk in and everything is laid out in front of you but they do source all of or as much as the food locally as possible including the fish which is made to order. I ordered the chicken bowl w sautéed veggies, corn, pico, and cheese, as well as the peach salsa (delicious) which is essentially what I would normally order at chipotle or currito. We also ordered a side of guac and it was very comparable to chipotles and it was very good. The staff were friendly and the place was clean, my complaint was the cost for what you get. I got 1 small spoonful of chicken (for 8.95) and extra chicken is $3.75 so it's a little more pricy than chipotle but has a pretty similar taste. read more

I feel like it is a stretch to say they have breakfast bowls/burritos because if you make your own it's really only adding eggs to your meal. It's basically a local chipotle. The food wasn't bad but I would not return for breakfast. The ingredients taste really fresh and the staff is very friendly. I loved the atmosphere and music that was played inside! Highly recommend this place for a quick bite. After a long day on boring Hilton head island, it was a relief to find a place that mixes both great food and great feelings into one. My burrito was OUT OF THIS WORLD, personally, better than chipotle. The farm-to-table system is something that should be incorporated EVERYWHERE. Despite capacity restrictions due to COVID-19, service was prompt. About 1030 on a Monday morning and waited about 10 minutes to be allowed I . Both my husband and I had breakfast burritos. His steak and eggs and my bacon and eggs. Both were fabulous. Keep in mind the portions are huge. Might be all we eat today because it was A LOT of food. Very fresh and delicious. I have been to far too many local versions of Chipotle in my life, which is what happens when you frequently travel to places with vegetarians and vegans (and spent part of your own life not eating meat). Today I was solo, and was looking for a place for breakfast, and the name alone made me curious enough to check it out. Besides, there was a glorious time in DC history when Chipotle was slinging breakfast burritos at Dulles and I sort of miss that. This place is doing whatever Chipotle was doing at Dulles and elevating it to a level that nerd Steve Ells could only dream about. My order: breakfast tacos with eggs (organic!), black beans, sweet potatoes, and a really wonderful salsa verde. A cup of really (really) good coffee and I was ready for day of exploring the rest of the island. It seems so weird to compare it to Chipotle when it's doing something that is so much better than Chipotle, but here we are. I wish there were one of these in every strip mall across America than a Chipotle/Moe's/Qdoba, but given their commitment to local ingredients it might be hard to scale up. On an island filled with restaurants that seem to be slinging the same beach town menu you can find anywhere, this was a refreshing change. Bravo y'all. read more

This place is AMAZING! It's pretty much a Chipotle with ALL LOCAL INGREDIENTS including FRESH CAUGHT FISH! We went twice. The first time I made the mistake of not getting the queso- big mistake. Incredible take on burrito bowls. Same concept as Chipotle but much better. Fresh ingredients and deliciously marinated meats. With all the great reviews my friends and I were excited to try it out. Upon entering you need to check out the menu above on the wall. Fairly simple design to create your meal. I had a salad and was disappointed in the size for $10.95. I was happy to see they used real lime in their margaritas but the glass was 75% ice and it was definitely a mix. Considering I added guacamole to mine and with the drink it came to just under $20. While the salad was fairly tasty and fresh, the price was still too high to get very excited about a place with throw away plates and utensils. read more

We had a late breakfast and Java Burrito did not dissappoint! While the line was a bit long as we approached 11 am given all the COVID precautions, we ultimately ordered online...food was ready in 20 minutes and we got to eat outdoors in the large patio area right outside the restaurant. Food portion size and taste were all great. All members of the family loved their meal. I personnaly recommend the chicken tacos.
