We wanted to grab Mexican on our first night in Hilton Head. We decided on San Miguel's. To start off the set up and scenery is exactly what you look for in a beach spot. Great patio area and surrounded by big boats and water inlet. The wait wasn't Terrible and the server had great people skills and very friendly. Now to the food. So for me and Mexican food the biggest test is the chips and salsa. Chips were thick and very crispy so I was excited. The salsa was a bust. Very lacking, not terrible but wanted it to be so good. We decided to order the queso to try it. Very cheesy almost too much cheese flavor that hid a lot of the other flavors. I got the El Presidente and it was very good. The refried beans had loaded flavor. The rice was average but over all very good. The hard shell taco was the best part of it. The girls got the sizzling fajitas and they were fresh and had tons of packed flavor. I ate their leftovers. My wife ate the chicken chimichanga. It was ok but chicken was bland. The cheese queso was also over it which we didn't like very much because the over powering melted cheese flavoring. The alcohol drinks were very good and strong. Worth the money which is rare in restaurants. Overall rating would a 3.8 out of 5 star but we can't give ratings other than whole stars. read more

We came back for more! I only have a picture if devoured food. We don't eat chicken, beef or pork so we had black beans and corn salsa instead of refried beans and rice. The Chile relleno was good, but the salsa, chips, nachos, cheese enchiladas, black beans, corn salsa and spinach/mushroom/jalapeño quesadilla were awesome! The jalapeños definitely pack a punch so good easy or order without if food gets too spicy for you. The portion sizes are excellent and plenty for leftovers, too. The service was great both times. We sat at a bar on a Wednesday at happy hour served immediately with wonderful margaritas and absolutely superior service. We shared some queso dip on happy hour and then also the shrimp and steak fajitas, which were delicious. Don't go in a busy day do happy hour and you will certainly enjoy sitting at the bar with the wonderful staff that they have everyone seems to get along and they're having a good time. The restaurant is located on the harbor with great water views. The service was outstanding with everyone we encountered so personable. Now as for the food it was fantastic and so satisfying. This is our third time there over the last couple years and I was very disappointed. There was no flavor to the food. Service was good, but the food was just OK. I had the steak quesadilla my son had tacos. My wife had fajitas and she was only one that thought it was OK. This place had really quick service! We were seated quickly and they brought us chips and salsa fast. The salsa was good, very onion heavy. I got two tacos with nothing on them only ground beef, and double rice. They were really good and exactly what I wanted. My group also got the kids nachos with ground beef ( the cheese sauce on them were heavenly), the taco enchiladas combo (so so good the enchiladas were so amazing) and fish tacos (delicious!! If you are in the mood for Mexican while you're here, this is the place. Like most Mexican places you get chips and salsa. I must say that this might be one of the better ones I've had at this type of restaurant. It was unique and very tasty! My meal was the three tacos with chicken as the filling. Came here on a Monday around 8, with a party of 6 and had a short wait time. There are plenty of shops in the area so we just walked around until we got the text that our table was ready. We ordered the cheese nachos to share and it was amazing. The cheese is not your average movie theater cheese and the nachos are something else. The salsa that came complimentary was pretty good as well. To eat, I ordered the steak fajita and it was pretty good. The steak was flavorful and plenty. And I liked that it came with 4 tortillas so I was able to make my own little wrap. I tried a bite of my boyfriends arroz con pollo and it was a pretty solid dish. The cheese was the same as the nachos, and the chicken wasn't dry and was well seasoned. We vacation in HHI every year and love to try all types of restaurants. We had a girls lunch and went Mexican. There were 6 of us. They accommodated us easily on a Monday afternoon. The advertise best margaritas on the island. We got a pitcher of regular. Not a lot of pitcher choices. Just 2. Premium tequila or regular. It was good. Not the best. We all ordered various dishes from tacos, enchilada's, burritos, quesadillas, a bit of everything. All was OK. Just OK nothing special or spectacular. All pretty average. It was just OK. Service was good. Our server was attentive. Place was big to accommodate all the Shelter Cove crowds. Prices were average. Not bad. Just not anything special or a must go. Just OK. Took a group of 8 golfers for marguaritas on the water at shelter cove and dinner. Everyone loved the food, service and atmosphere

My aunt highly recommended this spot, so my son and I decided to check it out since it's close to the Disney Resort we are staying on. You can walk from the resort here, but there's plenty of parking to drive over. It's a high foot traffic here, located by the water where all the Yachts are docked. It's majority outdoor seating, with a massive spread for outdoors. They have tables fairly distanced enough but it, like i said, high foot traffic here. Also, not a ton of people wearing masks. We opted to be seated inside. They sent us a text to let us know when our table would be ready, so we had time to walk around the dock area. The scenery is certainly nice. The inside isn't much, so if you want the atmosphere then sit outside. Plus, they tend to have live music here too. Our table was comfy and we were not close to anyone, which made my son happy. Our waitress was really nice but I could tell she was busy. In fact, this whole damn place was busy for COVID-19. They brought out chips and salsa. The chips were really good and the salsa was probably the most unique and odd mix i've ever tasted. It took me a second to figure out what they did, but they must have purchased a ton of rotel and mixed it with normal salsa. I swear, that's the taste i got from it. Not necessarily bad, just unique. We also ordered the chili con queso dip. Another unique concept: they fried soft tortillas to be used to dip into the cheese bowl (which the cheese sits in a fried tortilla). I liked the chips, but the cheese dip was so-so. So, i'm very skeptical when it comes to ordering quesadillas at mexican places. Typically, they don't cut them and it's just one big messy quesadilla with cheese dripping out. When my son pointed out that their fajita quesadilla was a specialty item here, I changed my mind on my original order and went for it. I will say, it was much better than most places. Possibly one of the better quesadillas I've had at any mexican place. While that's not saying much in terms of the best I've ever had, it certainly makes this place a viable option just for a quesadilla. The pico served with it was decent, but it was lacking something. Most pico i've had comes with jalapeno, onions, cilantro, lemon juice, salt & tomatoes. Maybe it was missing the lemon juice and salt? My drink, the cucumber and jalapeno margarita, was good. I replaced the triple sec with Grand Marnier, and that took it up to the level I wanted. It must have been infused cucumber & jalapeno, b/c there was no muddled jalapeno or cucumber in it. I heard one of the waiters talking about their house margarita after my meal, and I realized i should've gone for that. Next time ... Overall, an ok experience. I would recommend this as a great option for outdoor seating but be weary of the amount of people here. It falls short on my Mexican standards but stick with the quesadillas if you want it to be a decent eating option. FYI - no joke, there was a random cat chilling in the back corner inside. My son spotted it and I never had a chance to ask the waitress about the cat. It literally laid on the bench seat the entire time like it owned the place. read more
