Fast casual Mexican food with tasty drinks. One of my favorite places for a burrito is Moe's and Java Burrito is basically a fresher high end version of that with delicious drinks. And they have breakfast / coffee in the morning. Java Burrito is a great place to grab some dinner or lunch when you have no clue what to get or want something more simple than a sit down experience. It's a cool place to hang and they offer a happy hour! They have plenty of drink choices for everyone. The ordering process is simple, you choose a burrito, bowl, or salad and then you basically go down the line to build it out. And then finish with ordering a marg.... A beer? Or just a soda. We love Java Burrito and go there every time we go to Hilton Head Island. Food is great! Coffee is good, but not my favorite. Service is friendly but a both chaotic. They're basically a better chipotle that also serves breakfast foods and coffee. The potatoes are amazing and so is their guac. Id just get a bowl of that if I didn't get funny looks... read more

Haven't stopped thinking about this place since I had it. It's similar to Cava or Chipotle, but they also serve coffee and breakfast. You order at the counter and go down the line to build your own bowl, burrito, salad, taco, or quesadilla. I went with a bowl with white rice, grilled steak, grilled veggies, corn salsa, and red onion. The meat and toppings all looked and tasted really fresh. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Great option if you're looking for something quick and casual but still fresh and high quality. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Hilton Head! read more

Stopped here for breakfast this morning. Had a breakfast sandwich. It was warm & tasty. Very large sandwich. Could've split it with my hubby. Neither one of us could finish our sandwiches. The place is nice! I felt like it was a bit dark, so much so that we ate outside, which we never do. My only other negative was staff were not super friendly. But my sandwich was good and the coffee was excellent. Real creamers, 1/2&1/2 & oat, not those little packets of poison most places provide. I appreciate that. read more

Soooo fresh and delicious. We went twice during our trip to Hilton Head. It is an elevated chipotle style restaurant. The local fish add on was seasoned and cooked well. All the add on were delicious. Lots of food for a good price. read more

The minute we got there, the line was out the door. Within 5 min, the line increased 3X! The service was friendly and fast. Definitely a popular place, but the line moves fairly quickly. The ingredients were fresh and the portions were as expected. The chips were super thin but didn't have much flavor. The guac was great but felt like the ratio of chips to guac was disproportionate. The burritos, on the other hand, were gigantic! The salads were filling and good, but felt like they were comparable to many other fast casual places. read more

At first, we were hesitant to join the long line stretching out the door, but it moved quickly and efficiently. And let me tell you, it was so worth the wait. Java Burrito serves up build-your-own Mexican-style bowls with high-quality, fresh ingredients that feel both hearty and healthy. They also offer a build-your-own breakfast option, which is such a great touch, and honestly sets them apart from places like Chipotle. The coffee? Easily the best we had on the island. Rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. This place truly nails the fast-casual concept, blending flavor, quality, and vibe in a way that's hard to come by. I only wish they had a location in Ohio, I'd be a regular. Until then, it'll be a go-to every time I'm in Hilton Head. read more

Tucked away in a strip mall in Hilton Head on William Hilton Parkway is Java Burrito Company. The great online reviews led me here, and it did not disappoint. It's like a Chipotle on steroids that also serves alcohol with a full coffee bar off to the side offering some unique caffeinated drinks. We kept things simple by going with a burrito and quesadilla. The chicken quesadilla (3.5) was a generous portion with fresh flavorful chicken, but the cheese flavor profile wasn't up to par with others I've had, but it was greatly improved when I asked for some queso to spruce things up. The burrito (4/5) was solid and similarly generous portioned, and a few notches above Chipotle in taste. I would recommend a bit of queso to be incorporated into any of the meals to spruce up the taste. There were many staff members on duty even right before closing time, all seemingly working in harmony and generally very friendly with regards to service. Both the interior seating area and outdoor patio were tastefully welcoming, and very impressive for a fast casual counter service type of place. I would recommend Java Burrito Company to others looking for a quick and filling Mexican meal, and probably would return myself to try out some of their intriguing caffeinated beverages. read more

Delicious! For a fast food burrito shop, this place offers excellent flavors, tender meats, and fresh ingredients! They are setup similar to a Chipotle style, burrito bar assembly so you can pick all the ingredients you want. They offer quite a few food options, more than the typical rice and beans. There is plenty of seating inside and out. What would have made this top tier is if the customer service was a bit more helpful. No one seemed interested in serving customers, so we stood for awhile waiting for their help. However, the meal was delicious and I will definitely try this again. read more

I've been here twice in 2 days during my trip here. I just can't get enough! The food is incredible and they give you pretty good portions. The workers are super friendly and one lady even remembered my boyfriend from the day before and said welcome back to him. The place is really neat with ample indoor and outdoor seating. They even have a coffee, desert, and drinks bar that I still need to try. read more

I had a 2 pm Lunch meeting here with a business partner. I am not a big Mexican food eater. I find it too filling in general. Now that said that I love Breakfast burritos. I take a bite and and and some hot sauce and another bite more hot sauce. Anyway to make a long story longer, I had the chicken burrito made to order. I love spicy food so i piled it on. This is a must-visit in HHI! My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch around 1:30PM. It was pretty busy--it probably took us around 20 minutes to fully get through the order line. But everything was well worth the wait! All the food was super fresh, and our bowls were delicious. I had enough for 2 meals! Worlds better than Chipotle or Qdoba. The staff was very friendly and speedy--they were calm, cool, and collected even with tons of people there. I was able to order coffee at the food check out. My drink came out at the coffee bar just a few moments after we paid. It was loud inside, but there was plenty of seating outside too if that's not your jam. The bathroom was also nice and clean! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting HHI! read more

This is a great breakfast spot with a variety of build-your-own options. I don't like eggs and didn't realize how customizable the bowls/tacos/etc are (you can get anything without eggs--probably should have been obvious), so I got the avocado toast, which was great. They have a couple hot sauce options, so I added some hot sauce to one of my slices, which I definitely recommend if you like a little kick. I also tried one of the specialty coffees, the Creme Brûlée Latte. For a place with "java" in the name, I expected the coffee to be top tier, but unfortunately it was a little bit of a miss for me. It wasn't bad by any means, however, it tasted like a plain latte to me--just coffee and almond milk. I couldn't taste the vanilla or caramel flavors. It was a fine latte, but nothing memorable. That being said, I would definitely be back for the food but might try another drink option next time! read more

Different place for lunch or dinner. Indoor or outside seating. Inside tables spread out but could be noisy. Service is help yourself. Get in line, pick your food, pay & go to your table. Pick a bowl and fill it up. Choice of chicken or beef then get rice, vegetables & various sauces etc. All super good with as much as you want. Prices are good & worth filling up with food. If you've ever been to a Chipotle, this is definitely right up that same alley, but with higher quality. I appreciate the fact that it's an affordable meal on the island where things can become a little bit expensive. However, this is somewhere where my family likes to eat every year on vacation. There's nothing wrong with this location. The food is good, but it never seems to be filling. I always end up having to order double or go somewhere else to eat afterward. If it weren't for my family, I don't think I would personally choose to go here unless it was for the drinks. They make wonderful drinks all around, from coffee and tea to alcoholic beverages. The service is top-notch, and everyone is extremely friendly. They offer seating inside, but that seems to fill up very quickly as it isn't a very big space. But let's be honest, who wants to sit inside in a beautiful location like this? Their outside seating is top-notch, and the weather was absolutely perfect. This place had a line out the door, and I wasn't sure it would be worth the wait--but I'm so glad we stayed. It's set up similar to Chipotle, but with a more elevated and elegant feel. The food was absolutely delicious. Three of us ordered the chicken bowls and one got the pulled pork, and everyone was very happy with their choice. The flavors were amazing and far more flavorful than Chipotle, with many more fresh options to choose from. The chicken tasted especially fresh and even healthier. We also ordered chips and queso, which were outstanding. Highly recommend if you're looking for great burritos or Mexican food. If I'm counting correctly, this is our 5th straight visit to the island that we made sure to eat at Java Burrito. It's just outstanding. The quesadilla I got on Friday night might be the best quesadilla I've ever gotten. I'm not really certain what the difference is, but I'm guessing they just use more quality ingredients than comparable places. And their chips and queso? Out of this world. I made sure I ordered enough so I had a bunch to take home. We keep meaning to come back here for coffee and breakfast and haven't done that yet. read more

Repeated last year's choices because they were just so darn good. Salad with chicken for me, pork bowl for my dad, and "special" (chicken and steak in queso sauce) burrito for my husband. Why is this place so far from where I live?! The whole set up is brilliant for breakfast! Super friendly staff, love all the options from bowls to burritos and the vibe is what you love about a coffee shop. I made my own breakfast bowl and whatever is in that cilantro lime habanero cucumber salad is the bomb! It took my bowl to the next level. Service and food exceptional. The pork quesadilla is my fav. Meat is super tender. Great toppings. Homemade sauces are different levels of spiciness. We did take out on quesadillas and burritos- two dinners for sure. Can eat in a small cafe or outdoors. Certainly get your moneys worth. Tom the manager is awesome and managing a great staff behind the counter! read more

Despite there being some construction in the shopping center, there was a steady flow of customers during our short visit on a weekday morning. The place was incredibly well decorated throughout with seasonal Halloween decor. The music selection was upbeat, but some of the songs were club music which felt a bit out of place for so early in the morning. They have some creative specialty caffeinated drinks, and they also offer smoothies, beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as a limited selection of food and dessert options. I went with an Aloha latte (4.5/5) which contains a combination of coconut, vanilla, and mocha flavors. It was unique and delicious without any bitter taste. They had coconut cake (3.5/5) on offer, and I had to get a slice since I hadn't had coconut cake in almost 2 years. It was tasty and wasn't too sweet, but wasn't overly moist, which gave me the impression that it had been made several days prior, and resulted in it drying out a little. It was the only place I visited in Hilton Head over the course of several days that passed on a credit card surcharge to customers. If you don't mind that, I'd suggest trying out Carolina Coffee & Crumbs if you're looking to try out a local coffee shop in the Coligny Beach area of Hilton Head.

This place is small inside, maybe seats 30 including the counter. They probably double that capacity with outside seating.

The poached eggs on the fourth meal were severely undercooked and practically raw. What made the experience even worse was having two young children with us who were completely melting down by the end because everything took so long. A restaurant should know better than to leave families sitting that long with no urgency, no communication, and no follow-up. What should have been a simple breakfast turned into a two-hour waste of time with bad service, poorly prepared food, and zero attention to detail. There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. I would absolutely not recommend this place.
