A cute little Internet cafe located right on Madison Ave. I absolutely love that Java Cafe is open from 7am to 8pm - perfect for early morning or later evening studying! The Turkish coffee is my personal favorite. They have a few other basic cafe drinks and flavors. They also offer a few pastries. My one complaint is that the tables are small and light (so if you are writing sometimes the tables move a bit). I also find the chairs to be flimsy and not so comfortable.

I loved visiting this cafe. It's much more spacious inside than I expected. I had a potato burek and a tea. Both were great. I wished the potato burek was a little bigger as it tasted amazing lol. The tea was scorching hot and perfect with the burek. My daughter had a blueberry and raspberry muffin which she said was great. The service was very pleasant and prompt. I will definitely be coming back.

Java Cafe recently opened on Madison Ave across from Washington Park. There's tons of seating, nicely decorated (I'm a sucker for exposed brick) and lots to enjoy. Coffee, pastries, fresh orange juice and lemonade. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and caramel. It was nicely balanced, not too sweet and not too much milk. Pet peeve of mine when it feels like you're jut drinking a cup of milk with a splash of coffee. Also had to order a strawberry croissant once I saw it. Fresh slices of strawberry and a layer of cream tucked in a buttery croissant. It was delicious!!

This is a new place that deserves a visit. Wonderfully pleasant and helpful staff and great prices. The matcha was delicious and I didn't need anything added which is rare. Nicely decorated and the bathroom has such cute signs. I was offered (& accepted) a delicious taste of cold baklava and I was hooked. I cannot wait to go back & try more drinks and the great looking pastries.

Java Cafe is a relatively recent cafe that just opened and I thought it'd be fun to check out! The space is definitely cute and conducive to studying or working, they do have public wifi! However my experience with their drinks was disappointing. I ordered a matcha and it tasted mainly like a cup of iced milk. The color of my matcha was rather pale and diluted and I didn't really enjoy my drink that much. They offer other coffees and pastries which could be worth trying. It is a tidy run of the mill coffee shop since I didn't see any specialty drinks! The baristas were nice overall. I don't know if this place will be my go-to coffee shop.

The staff were professional, pleasant, and coffee/tea focused! My wife enjoyed a black tea chai latte and I loved the reserve pour over coffee experience! I order pour over pretty much every time it's available at a coffee shop. Jacob Alejandro's pour over service is pretty much ceremonial! They serve it on a tray. The tray has the "pitcher", a glass for service, and a glass of palate cleansing jade tea in the middle. (I did have to ask what the jade tea was) The palate cleanse was the perfect start. The Costa Rican coffee was heavenly, one of those drinking experiences where even my amateur palate was engaged. It was truly nice to sit for a while and enjoy a great cup of coffee at Jacob Alejandro! Yes, they would fit in a larger city but smaller cities deserve great coffee also!

Could they really be open on Easter Sunday? It seemed too good to be true. A great cup of caffeine was just what I needed at that very moment. So my friend and I crossed Madison Avenue and peeked into the tinted windows. Not only were they open, but the place was bustling. The inside of Jacob Alejandro is elegant and beautifully decorated. Furniture, plants, music and wall art are arranged to set moods. It feels more like a club than a coffee house. The baristas are super friendly, helpful and patient. As I tried to make up my mind on what to order, they offered suggestions. I wound up with matcha. I think my friend had some kind of latte. I remember both beverages were delicious. They were made to be savored slowly. We took in our surroundings and it was very relaxing. We'll visit again. Thanks Jacob Alejandro for a nice experience.

The breakfasts and coffee are solid. The staff is helpful and courteous. I showed up for breakfast recently. I ordered the Chorizo. Two eggs, two chorizo sausages with pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo on a sandwich roll. It was as good as I remembered. I also enjoyed the coffee included in the $11.45 price. I took the meal upstairs where there's additional seating. I ate it while seated inside the picture window, which is a good place to the activity along Lark St. The eatery is as eclectic as ever. There are signs and artwork on the walls from different eras that don't go together. The place is old and perhaps a bit musty. Still this place had so much history with the area and its mismatched decor is a part of its charm. Change may be good. But in the case of the Daily Grind, I'm happy to still be able to get a delicious meal at a reasonable price from a nice staff after all of these years. Comfort food at its best.

The rolls were perfect and not tough at all, the sandwiches were so well done, I highly recommend the Lark street, the eggplant was so crispy and yum! They have fun specialty lattes and coffee as well. The girls working were welcoming and nice. While there was a bit of a wait, it's worth it and the do have an order ahead option too.

These are quality rolls made from scratch by a pack of rowdy and funny bakers in the back. It's a little bit bakery, little bit hangout. The Prinzo bakery has really squirrelly hours: they are open in the A.M. until like 11 - then they take a long and possibly well-deserved 'bakers-siesta' until about 2 or three. In the hours in between, some bakers are there but the front door is locked: it's a real local shop, so to speak! Come in the morning for large orders or stop by and take a peek at the wood panel interior of this tiny Albany bakery in the afternoon for sandwich breads, loafs, baguettes and boules. Review: 5
