I really wanted to love Concorde Express Bar because I had heard so much hype about it, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The scenery and atmosphere are definitely cute and make for some great pictures, but the overall experience was a little disappointing. We visited during the summer and got the s'mores kit, which sounded like it would be so much fun, but unfortunately, the little fire they brought out didn't work, so we couldn't even enjoy it. Their most famous drink was also not good at all. The only drink I really enjoyed was the watermelon drink, which came with a popsicle in it--that was actually pretty cool! The prices were extremely high for what we got, although that seems to be pretty common at a lot of places in Wilmington. I'd be willing to give it another chance during the winter because I could see the atmosphere being much better then. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, though, and definitely deserves some credit! Overall, I just left feeling pretty disappointed because I expected more based on all the hype. read more

First and last time visiting. Management needs to address service and accessibility. I was really hoping for a good experience for our first visit, but it was a letdown from start to finish. The Parking/Greeting: The outside hostess had zero flexibility or empathy when we asked about handicap parking. She flatly told us no, and said the closer spaces were for overnight guests only. We had to drop our guest off and find parking a block away. The Food/Drinks: The espresso martinis were very good. However, do not order the "s'mores for four." The portion is not enough for four people, the marshmallows are too large to heat efficiently, and the ratios are completely off. Plus, the kit only included 3 sticks and 2 hand wipes for a party of 4. The Service: Our server, vanished after our initial order went through the app. He never returned to check on us, and we had to ask other servers for basic assistance. Such a cool place to check out when visiting Wilmington! Concord Espresso Bar offers a variety of different espresso martini flavorings, cocktails, and pop-sodas. Definitely recommend if you're planning for a double-date night or a night out with the girls. Only complaint we had was they sat us right next to the bathrooms and front door of the building, when there was a ton of more private and comfortable seating within the building - and in their courtyard. We went to the Downtown location and it was great. The drink selection was fantastic, with plenty of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. For alcoholic beverages, we tried the In Flight Snack (cookie butter espresso martinis), and the Exit Row (salted caramel espresso martini). For nonalcoholic, I think my friend ordered a lavender lemonade, but whatever mocktail she or it was delicious! We also got the Make your own S'more's kit and being able to roast marshmallows over the fire was so fun and delicious! The outdoor space was one of my favorite parts. Once the sun went down, it was moody and kind of romantic. I feel like this would be the perfect date night, girls night or group hang spot! The Concord espresso bar is exquisite, eclectic and just plain fabulous! they have Hollanders Dutch chocolate here and I love that gourmet chocolate. Of course I asked for .5 ounces as they usually put 1.5 ounces of the Hollanders Dutch chocolate syrup in each coffee. That was much too much for me as I like to indulge in the espresso flavor more so than the chocolate. The flavor of the espresso is bold balanced, and absolutely positively delicious! It creates the perfect combination with the Taste Of The yummy Hollanders chocolate. I also ordered what the cashier said was her favorite pastry: a berry cream cheese scone. It was just moist enough, just crispy enough and just soft enough and full of delicious berries! I must say that I could not tell that it had cream cheese in it however, maybe that is what made it so moist as I expected, and was pleased by the fact that there was lively coffee shop appropriate music playing in the background. The cashier was very sweet and kind. She told me what each pastry was and like I said I decided on the one that is her favorite. The vibe was laid-back and chill. The seating area was off to the side and more intimate and private than the main area which was bright and open for those who like that kind of vibe. there were a few comfy looking chairs in this area as well. I wanted to like this place more than I did as they have an outstanding menu. We stumbled upon this place when looking for a cup of coffee. As it was a Saturday after 3pm, they said they could not seat us but we could order to go. So, we did. My friend finished her order first, then I finished mine, then a gentleman in another party finished his. My friend's coffee came out almost immediately. A short time later, so did the gentleman's coffee. I kept waiting. I was eventually asked after about 10 minutes if we were waiting on more coffee. They found my cup of coffee just sitting inside. I'd ordered the butterscotch rosemary coffee with whipped cream and toppings. By the time I got it, the whipped cream was melted, any toppings had sunk, and I couldn't taste much butterscotch or rosemary. One of my favorites if not my favorite espresso bar in downtown Wilmington. It is located in the perfect area of downtown WILMINGTON because there is generally better parking because it's not at the heart of the river. But it's not far enough that you can't just walk down the road and go to the river. The location is perfect. It has its own little parking lot and when there's not enough parking, there's municipal on the street parking, etc. they have a great outdoor area in the back with s'mores stations and outdoor seating. They do events that are fun. Great for group gatherings great for business meetings. Great to just have a cuppa coffee in the morning after you drop the kids at daycare or school And just a hint I've probably done that about eight times now lol they have a variety of drinks you could even make up your own concoctions. I love that in the afternoon it turns into an alcoholic beverage bar in addition to a coffee bar. It's a great place to get friends together or even have happy hour. They have an old school glass window in case sunroom attached to the back clearly this is one of the old-fashioned houses from downtown Wilmington and back in the days which has now been converted. The only thing is the entrance is a little bit tight so if you see a line, please try not to squeeze through the front door to fill up the foyer we live in North Carolina, not Colorado When cold is cold here it's not as cold as up north or to the west lol other than that, the staff is always friendly and kind. I love having the events and I will say I sat at a table with the owner and her husband one night and they were absolutely fun from Long Island represent New York!!! And as a former New Yorker now North Carolina, I enjoy them bringing this business here! It definitely feels like a touch of Home down south! There's not a lot by the way of pastry or sandwiches, etc. but that's fine. This is a beverage bar and so limitations on the foods is great because honestly it's more attention on the beverages lol. Just the most charming little cafe. First time in Wilmington, & we walked to this cafe. The coffee selection was so wonderful (I'm a sucker for house made syrups & speciality drinks). My husband & I tried the latte Fleur which was made with house GROWN rosemary (what?!). So delightful. We also tried the latte Olivia and it was amazing. Of course, I recommend Concorde espresso bar! I've been here now on two separate occasions. -- once for a double date night and another time with a large group of girls for a bachelorette. Both times were absolutely amazing. It is neat that you can order your drinks and any snack snacks on your phone and even pay through that mechanism as well. It does speed things up so that you don't have to wait for someone to come check on you. I also love both the outdoor seating and even the inside. After my son got into UNCW, several friends fwd me a viral TikTok video showing Concorde Espresso bar. Espresso martinis and s'mores? Yes please! We arrived for our 5 pm reservation outside and no one was there! It was a very cool vibe. In the backyard of a historic hotel and free parking! It was 21+ after 3pm. The homemade marshmallows were awesome! When we roasted them the powdered sugar on the outside caramelized and it was amazing! The graham crackers were nice and crisp and we had a Reeces cup, cookies and cream Hershey bar and classic milk chocolate Hershey bar. There are 10 martinis on the menu and a martini flight option. I ordered the s'mores martini and sadly was disappointed. It was really weird tasting, almost floral. We had water that was complimentary but honestly wished we had asked for bottled. Everyone has been raving about this espresso bar and I found that the quality of the drinks in the atmosphere is top-tier. My only suggestion would be that you were able to order through your server versus having to do it through an app, I feel like it's less personable and intimate. The line outside can feel like a nightclub at times, but I appreciate that they take their security so seriously. 05/23/26: We went here for espresso martinis while walking around Front Street. I had the Tiramisu Espresso Martini with a side of Cookie Butter Gelato. My wife had an Affogato with Oreo Gelato. We both enjoyed them. It's a good trendy spot. I would recommend and go back. We didn't care for the plastic wrapped spoons. We ate in and had take out utensils. We also didn't care for ordering on our phone and paying on our phone. I know, we're old and it's a personal preference. The place was good. I'd recommend it and I'd go back. We just had a different expectation of the place and now will be prepared when we go back. The espresso martini was great. The gelato was tasty.
