Gorgeous and inviting ambience, lovely staff, full on variety of cold brews and foods, some attempt at loyalty through the smart Toast system but oddly tight fisted birthday reward for the prices. Very limited coffee options, no espresso or any sort of traditional drips, only cold brew. And it is expensive, wow! No wallet is sized to handle knocking on eight bucks for a normal sized macadamia milk cold brew when even the most money munching coffee in the area, looking at you price gouging Greyhouse, is at least working with quality sourced beans and serving up crafted syrups for slightly better bragging rights than Starbucks. I'm guessing Java House will be the easy favorite of overnight baptised caffeinated brown but I sure miss the thirty ounce lattes for same cash Copper Moon served up! I miss the huge variety of flavors and smart pricing. Copper Moon knew how to try something new in an insanely competitive city where Sacred Grounds, Indie Coffee, Greyhouse, Java Joe's, Leaps, Fuel, Star City, Eleventh House, Revelle, and Cafe Literato are all within minutes each giving something between insane Greyhouse snobbery and the sublime handcrafted addiction drips of Sacred Grounds and Eleventh House. I've been to Java House four times between here and other locations. The consistency is fair, some seasonal brews give class, but the prices hold me back. There's no home crafted syrups, even the decent cold foam requires excessive mixing and nothing seems to combine well. Cold brew offers no evolution of flavors or touches those two thousand notes like espresso but here costs as much as a sublime single origin roast. As other reviews have commented on, there is no way to perk up cold brew. Even with fun flavors like I tried in the Mapleton and Bonfire, it is still sadly the least of all coffee unredeemable singular taste running over cozy autumn flavors. Java has me miffed trying to figure out who wants to drop serious pennies without getting anything close to a hand crafted properly setup shot of that cherry brew.

Swift service from Sarah and Pete, and a friendly atmosphere. I got an iced Americano with caramel.

Usually, when I don't know what the house drip coffee tastes like, I'll order an Americano, because they tend to be balanced, no matter which coffee shop I'm visiting. My instincts were right! The Americano at Wanderlust is mighty tasty. If you have time to sit a spell, I suggest ordering your coffee "for here" so you can drink it out of a real cup, like a real boy. There are lots of places to sit and sip your stuff, not just in the immediate area, but there's also a separate room across the way with even more seating. That's also where the restrooms are located. Side note: Even if you don't need to use the restroom, you should visit the restroom. It is a sight to behold. I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to get a pastry to go with my coffee. There was this slab-cream-pie-pastry-looking number calling my name from the case. It was very creamy and flaky and rich, and went well with my coffee. No regerts.

The other room is on the other side of the lobby and it's the quiet room. It has a library feel and has both tables and soft seating. A great place to work, study or read. I'll be back!
