The apple rhubarb turnover was so good, not too sweet and had the delicious flavor of rhubarb and the mild sweetness of apples with the most incredible pastry dough I've ever tasted! A hustling staff serving up quiche, mini pies, croissants, bread pudding, oatmeal cream pie sandwiches and more from their small but mighty space. YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET A GLUTEN FREE CAKE ======================================= My son and future daughter-in-law needed a gluten free cake in addition to the regular cake for their wedding. My daughter-in-law told us we could get one at Revolution. But when I called the bakery whoever answered the phone was not helpful at all. I should have got her name, but she said they didn't have any gluten free cakes. She said they just have pies. Fast forward to a couple weeks later and we walked in after my daughter-in-law and her friends told us we could actually get a gluten free cake there once again. I guess in person you can actually get more information than on the phone which is sad, but true. We ended up getting a flourless chocolate cake, so it is possible to get something that is gluten free. Note to owner: Please notify your staff that you are capable of providing gluten free or flourless cakes. You may get more business in the long run. read more

The crème in the oatmeal pie was overly sweet and the fudge caramel pie was overwhelmingly rich and heavy. Both items were also very hard and difficult to cut through. Hit or miss depending on what you're looking for but they have many options to choose from. I would go back for the banana bread alone ($4 a slice). While planning a full day of exploration, I decided to stop in Lafayette for a cup of coffee. This place popped up on my Yelp! search. So, despite the title, I had "coffee shop" on my brain. I grabbed a parking spot along the street (free) and headed inside. After passing a pair of small tables on the sidewalk, I saw the interior was rather small. Some seating, but I got the impression it was more of a "to go" place than "sit around and drink coffee all day" place. Don't get me wrong; there are tables and chairs and they do make some specialty coffees. I only wanted a black drip coffee which is self serve and served piping hot (tongue scald Yikes!!) What I will say is that they do have a variety of baked goods and because it was still fairly early, I wanted to keep it light. So I passed on all the rolls and breads and honed in on several macarons. These are larger than most I've had and came in a variety of colors and flavors. I liked that they would hold up over the course of the day without drying out. I enjoyed each of them that I tried. Light outside with a bit of crunch. Tasty filling inside that paired well with the cookie part. Really nice macarons. So, although I really enjoyed my cookies, I have to knock a point off for the coffee. I can see why this place consistently gets a good review. The items here are yummy. We had trouble deciding what we wanted to get here. Came in on a Saturday as part of their stall at the Farmers Market right outside. They had a very rich banana cake with Fennel which we got. Very rich and very yummy! I would go back. They are not cheap, but the food is totally worth it. I haven't had a chance to try too many of their savoury items, but I'll be back for sure! read more
