    Call trail.

On Wednesday 7/26 I received a text message asking me to confirm an appointment by 4pm Pacific. I received another text asking me to confirm my appointment. I received this text at 258 pm. At 3 p.m., I received a text saying my appointment was canceled. This is 2 minutes after I received the text to confirm the appointment. I called java Psych 14 minutes after I received the cancelation text. I requested to have my appointment time confirmed. I was told this appointment was already taken. During this phone call, I was lied to about the time stamps and the actual text message. This behavior is not only highly unprofessional but extremely unethical, and this borders negligent behavior. This is not the only time I've had issues with Java psych. They regularly charge a co-pay at the appointment time, which is normal. However, they also send out a bill MONTHS later for that co-pay again. I am a person who has a debilitating mental health disorder, and I rely on my medication to manage the disorder. In order to receive my medication, I must meet with a psychiatrist, which is also normal. Canceling an appointment in that manner must be addressed with java psych, and major reform is needed in regards to scheduling and training. This was no fault of the doctors, but instead negligent behavior from the reception department. An apology was only issued, after I made my complaint to the company, and after I mentioned reporting to BBB, going to review websites, contacting the board of psychology, and every social media platform I can. At that point, I was issued an "apology," which did not seem sincere in the slightest. This provider needs to be investigated in regards to their unprofessional, unethical, borderline, negligent behavior coming from the provider. This provider also takes 0 ownership over any and all issues and refuses to take any accountability for any issue regarding complaints. I am grateful this is my last appointment with this provider. I am only keeping this appointment as I rely on medication to manage my mental health. Otherwise, I would have found another provider prior to this appointment. I HIGHLY recommend staying far, far away from this practice. The doctors are fine enough, but reception needs extreme reformation and needs to understand and show empathy to any and all patients. They take 0 ownership and 0 accountability for any and all mistakes. I highly recommend staying far, far away from java Psych.

I ended up here and I am glad I did! After a few short months of seeing Dr. Naim, I was fine. More…read morethan fine actually. And it's now been a year! I dealt with anxiety for years off and on. I went on and off medication. I spent years seeing therapists. So many ups and downs. One day the anxiety escalated tremendously to the point where I couldn't sleep. I was seriously spiraling out of control and couldn't even work. My usual psychiatrist couldn't see me for 3 months. I know had I gotten into see him, it would just be a 20 minute appointment and more medication. My primary care doctor put me on Xanax and Ambien as a temporary fix. It was like putting a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound. A trusted friend recommended Hope Psychiatry and said there was no one better. When I called and explained my situation, I was seen within 24 hours. The intake paperwork is extremely thorough, more thorough than anything I've ever seen. They do not take insurance and I've come to discover that the people that are really good typically do not take insurance. At our first meeting, I started rambling and would have gone on for hours. Dr. Naim stopped me after 20 minutes and said he knew exactly what the issue was and how to resolve it. He said when he was done with me my issues would be gone. He slowly transitioned me off of the Xanax and Ambien. He is not anti-medication. I used an herbal tea to sleep and he prescribed something else that was non-habit forming for use as needed. He said the goal was for me not to need medication anymore but if I did need it, he would prescribe it. Fast forward a month, it was challenging to go through everything with him. At one point things were pretty bad and he said it was the last gasp of my issues getting out. Turned out, he was right. I started improving every week. About 3 months after first seeing him, I was done. It's now been one year. I've had no relapses. I have no anxiety. I'm having to deal with more challenging situations in life but it doesn't affect me anymore. I have a great perspective and I'm all better. I know I'm able to tackle just about anything. I've also been off the medication for a year now. So instead of just masking my problems, he actually addressed my issues. What a concept. Dr. Naim and his staff are incredibly kind. I just wish I hadn't spent years and years wasting my time trying to get help elsewhere. He was able to resolve my issues so quickly and completely. Highly recommended!

Dr Mizani is a miracle. When my therapist insisted I change…read morepsychiatrists from my last one to Mizani, I was reluctant because I thought "all psychiatrists kinda suck, I might as well deal with the one I have because it doesn't get much better." I have dealt with quite a few psychiatrists in my time, including at treatment centers; and all but her have supported this idea I had that psychiatrists have no emotional intelligence, but just a purely clinical view of the human brain and don't view patients as people to listen to but subjects to examine and push drugs on, always thinking they know better and saying insensitive things to invalidate my real struggles. But not her. She LISTENS. God, I have never met a psychiatrist who listens and really LISTENS like her. She cares what you have to say and takes everything you say seriously and into account before all of her carefully thought out decisions. She makes me feel seen, respected, taken seriously, cared for, and listened to. That's a rare find. And she really knows what she's talking about; her knowledge of psych and medication is very impressive beyond expectations. As soon as I started seeing her, she was able to immediately help what was wrong with my meds and change things around to the right mix. She always lays out multiple options (some containing adding meds, but always presenting alternatives and respecting any apprehension to meds), and takes the time to listen and weigh things out to whatever you feel is best for yourself. She helped refer me to mental health treatment in August when my depression was at its worst, and though the treatment was incredible, the psychiatrist there just couldn't compare. It reminded me of how lucky I am to have Dr Mizani, the best of the best. I have depression, anxiety, and a past of an eating disorder and she has been nothing but helpful and wise. These problems are big in my life but she has kept them under control like no other, and when they get less manageable, she finds the right solutions (like when she strongly encouraged me to go to treatment and provided those resources). Finding mental health professionals who know how to handle eating disorders and don't say totally triggering and incorrect things about them is surprisingly difficult, but she is one of the few who knows what she's doing and doesn't say triggering things. If you're struggling with your mental health and like me have fear around psychiatrists and their lack of emotional intelligence, please give Dr Mizani a try. She's different. She's gold.

I would say I am a type A personality and I like things under my control. Pregnancy, however, turned my emotions on its head. Thanks to a surge of hormones, everything made me highly irritable and aggravated. I knew, or hoped, that it was just the pregnancy. I decided to seek help because I wanted my pregnancy to go smoothly. Dr. Mizani was the perfect person to hear me out. She heard me out and used her expertise to see patterns in my actions and offered me ways to approach concerns I had differently. She got mad with me, when I was mad, and she validated me just enough that it opened the gates to tell her more of what I was dealing with. She was able to discuss sensitive issues about my marriage that didn't make me feel embarrassed. She is highly professional and very experienced with working with personal matters and intimate matters of the heart and soul. I am so glad I was able to have her be my doctor . She is so well read, researched and up to date in her therapeutic approach. I have since referred two other friends to her who are also equally satisfied and comfortable with Dr. Mizani.

For someone with such experience and expertise, she's extremely down-to-earth and approachable. I came to Dr. Vause at a time of change in my life (at work, with family, and in my relationships), and my stress was surging. My depression and anxiety levels were becoming hard to manage, and I was turning to drugs and alcohol to cope. Dr. Vause helped me get through it. In addition to counseling, she guided me through some challenging but needed adjustments to my medication regimen. Every med suggestion was explained clearly, Dr. Vause answered all of my questions, and I knew what to expect in terms of effects and side-effects. I never felt as if pills were just being pushed my way; she really wanted me to participate in my own treatment and understand her reasoning. In addition to the excellent medication recommendations and adjustments, she is a wonderful therapist. Since seeing her, I have felt much better, and have experienced real improvements in my life. Her combination of innate sensitivity, compassion, and deep medical expertise is quite rare. I feel completely comfortable and secure in this relationship, and am fortunate to have found this exceptional doctor. I know I am cared for as a whole person, not just a bundle of problems, and there's nothing I hesitate to talk to Dr. Vause about. Having her in my life is itself therapeutic and a source of strength for me. Thank you Dr. Vause!

She seemed completely unapologetic and I felt like I was simply wasting her time and she just wanted me to hang up. Obviously since she has no openings for new clients there is no harm to her business by posting this...only saving others from wasting their time. I am suicidal and need a doctor asap. But I don't need a doctor that lacks compassion and has no interest to help unless you happen to be an existing patient.

Thankfully it was easy to figure out where to park because of the instructions sent to me, but the parking is down a scary steep and tight curvy driveway so I had to go very slowly. Once underground I easily found parking near the elevator and went straight up to the department. As the elevators opened I was awed, from outside the building looks like a regular building, but when you come out of the elevator suddenly you're transported into a luxurious waiting room, so peaceful, spacious and beautiful. Staff is friendly, from the front desk all the way to the procedural area, everyone is kind and explains everything. When I was taken to the changing rooms and I changed into the pink gown, I was surprised how soft the gown is. Why can't all gowns be so soft???????? I could not stop touching the soft material, it is so soothing!!! Once I was taken in for my procedure, I was very impressed by the Doctor who was performing the biopsy, he was very compassionate and professional. Between him and the staff helping (who I'm sorry I don't remember anyone's name), I felt very at ease. What I expected to be painful I barely felt, and they informed me of every step along the way. Afterwards I was given these cute little ice packs that stick to the area along with some extra supplies in case I need at home. If I ever have to have this done again (hopefully not though) I would definitely come back to this location.
