Their acelga/swiss chard empanadas are amazing! We bought them frozen for a dinner party of mostly vegetarians to complement the mushroom paella and garbanzo/spinach salad. They were fantastic! We bought 3 dozen for 10 people, and all were eaten, even though the empanadas are generously sized. We followed the optional guidance to brush them with an egg wash before baking. Definitely the right choice! They browned so nicely, and the filling bubbled up in a delicious way. We also got a small jar of their chimichurri sauce to accompany the empanadas, at their suggestion. The champiñón empanadas were amazing, the fuzagetta was better than expected (it has herbs in it but don't think that was in the description), and the iced dulce de leche coffee was just WOW. The owner (I assume they were the owner) was super nice, great service. They also came out to ask if we tried the sandwiches, and when we told them that we're vegetarian, they were like "ok then I'm going to start trying to make a veggie milanesa, maybe with berenjena (eggplant) or vegan meats." The mushrooms in the mushroom and cheese empanada are perfectly cut and cooked into delicious, meaty chunks, with just the right amount of good cheese (gruyere?), and the crust is perfectly flaky and delicious. So I'll start with my experience with empanadas. I've tried many and most of the time I have been very disappointed especially with the meat ones. The meat never tastes fresh like the stuffing has been made in advance. So when my husband brought these home. I wasn't too excited. They looked great in the box but we weren't able to eat them the same day so I refrigerated them. We had it for dinner the next day. I warmed these open in the oven per instructions and omg they looked so amazing and fresh like I had made them myself haaah. We got pollo, jumita, champenones, agelga and carne. They were all mmwah delicioso. When i tasted the chicken I was expecting it to not taste very good after being a day old. But it was on point. Great quality ingredients. This place deserves business. They're doing it right and I'm so happy that my husband found it. If I were to skip on any one of these it would be the Swiss chard one. It was good but not something I'd get again. I ordered three empanadas to go. The chorizó empanada was perfect for breakfast with eggs and potatoes inside along with a food chorizo. I also got the jamón empanada which had a good amount of cheese inside. My favorite was the carne empanada! Very juicy but not runny. Next time I'll definitely get the chimichurri! Before going to Iavi's Cooking, I always noticed the excellent artwork outside and extra effort to how well the place looked. It looked so good on the outside I just knew the food had to be great; I was soooo right. I had a going away party and we went to try out the empanadas before ordering. We went with the Carne y Queso and the Pollo. They were absolutely delicious, fluffy, crunchy and perfect in every way. Came here last Thursday for lunch. I live in the area, so it is very convenient for me. I first looked to order online for delivery, but decided to just walk in. I am glad I did because the prices are cheaper in the store. I ordered one of everything they had, which as 6 different savory empanadas and 2 sweet empanadas plus the chimichurri sauce. These empanadas are baked with a flaky, buttery crust. The chicken jalapeno one was really good. I also really liked the apple pie empanada. All of them were tasty. I took them home and warmed them up in the toaster oven at 350F for 10 minutes and they were perfect. Definitely check them out! read more

I say by request because a) I understand their desire to waste less, and b) because it's not the best tasting chimichurri. It's a little over the top herbal and woodsy.
