Saw some TikTok videos about this spot and I've been meaning to try it and finally came for a double date dinner! + great ambiance + nice friendly staff + we loved the appetizers - the ceviche was a favorite! The pan de quejo and empanadas were good too + liked the passionfruit flan - mains was okay (chicken milanesa and steak frites). Nice spot to take people especially if you want a vibey dimly lit spot - great for date night too. Definitely get the ceviche/focus more on apps in my opinion!

We made a reservation ahead of time for a group of 3, but were able to change it to 5 later on. We were seated at the booth and the seating was fine for conversation, but this booth was facing another booth, which made us feel a bit awkward. I would recommend requesting for one of their tables instead. The restaurant has very dim lighting, but you can still appreciate the beautiful interior/decor. The servers are extremely nice and gave great descriptions + recommendations. We ordered the ceviche de pescado, artichoke, pulpo, croquetas, roasted cauliflower, yuca fries, Ojo de bife - ribeye steak, Bife con papas, and gaucho. The ceviche was everyone's favorite appetizer, with fried corn was unique and balanced out the acidity of the ceviche. The yuca fries and cauliflower were basic dishes that I wouldn't order again for the price. The artichoke was a bit of a disappointment as it was more difficult to eat than expected. The char on the artichoke was a bit too overpowering as well. The main dishes were great! All the beef was done to perfection and melted in your mouth. The fries that come with the bife con papas were extremely flavorful and had a good crisp that made it very addicting. For dessert, we ordered the churros, apples crostata, and chocolate cake. The churros themselves were average, but the side caramel and chocolate sauces were surprisingly not overly sweet. The chocolate cake was decadent and moist -- would recommend if you like a dense cake. The apples crostata had great flavor from the apples and the sweetness from the apples were nice with the ice cream on top. Personally, I would just get the chocolate cake again.

Ojo de Bife (ribeye steak 18oz)

I feel like the quality has gone down quite a bit compared to our previous visits. The ojo de bife (ribeye) came bone in this time, which was never the case before, so I do think the menu should specify that to avoid misleading guests. The bread that accompanied the steak also wasn't toasted at all, though our server kindly took it back and gave it a quick toast, which we appreciated. Service was attentive overall, but throughout dinner, our plates were cleared so quickly that it made the experience feel a bit rushed, especially since we had ordered a bottle of wine and were simply trying to enjoy the evening and catch up with friends. On a positive note, the wine recommendation paired really well with our steaks. The yuca fries tasted a little stale, while the gem salad was decent but nothing particularly memorable. We'll still definitely come back because we've enjoyed this spot in the past, but the overall vibe just felt a little off this time around. Cheers!

Restaurant is located in the Sf mission district. We came here for dinner and as you enter the restaurant, the host area is lit, but when you enter the main dining, the lights are dimmed and felt romantic. The restaurant has an upstairs as well. Our server was very nice and pleasant to speak with. Gave us some recommendations on the menu as well as drinks. We started with a cocktail and a glass of red wine. For our appetizer we had the Pulpo, coliflor and Hueso Asado. The pulpo which is octopus was nice and tender. Really delicious. The coliflor was okay. It was a little dense for me. The Hueso Asado was scrumptious, buttery and full of flavor, but half of a bone marrow was too small for an appetizer and only served with 4 small thin crostini. For entree we had the Ojo de Bife and Malbec short ribs. The Ojo de Bife which is the rib eye was delicious and grilled perfectly. The meat was not as tender, but the meat itself had a lot of flavor. The short ribs were excellent! Very tender and scrumptious. I would order this again. They should bring back the beef tongue or Lengua. I heard it is a must try. Anyway, we had a great time. It was a great atmosphere and love the vibe on this place. Would definitely come back!

This restaurant is absolutely worth checking out. The ambiance was great: stylish, welcoming, and perfect for a night out/celebration/date night without feeling overly formal. Our server was excellent and made the entire experience feel smooth and enjoyable. Despite it being a steak-forward I do recommend trying the ceviche de pescado--one of the best! However, the highlight of the night was definitely the steaks. It was easily some of the best steaks I've had in a long time. They were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly tender. You can tell they really care about the quality of the food here. Between the atmosphere, service, and tasty meal, this is definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Great selection of wines. Recommend the Altacedro Cabernet. SIDE NOTE: I didn't give this place 5 stars because of the hostess. Not the friendliest. And when asked if there was another table available with a different arrangement, she ignored our inquiry and never came back to check back in. We would have been ok with her response being no. This just didn't mirror the rest of experience.

First time here and we loved it! We got the ceviche, citrusy with a kick - loved the fritters. The pulpo was tender with savory, salty base. Steak frites were so good. Asado mixto was nice to share for the table. Got the ribeye too, so good. For dessert, we loved the chocotorta which was decadent. The passionfruit flan was nice, tart. Place has a dim, calm ambiance. Plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs. Our server, Rayne, was kind and attentive to us. Will definitely recommend this place to others!

Hanger steak + frites, ceviche, ribeye, Malbec

The whole experience was not bad, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Yuca croquettes, ceviche, hanger steak frites and my friend ordered the Ribeye. After asking for medium pink, my steak was served bleeding and when I asked for it to be cooked more, they did that without issue. I understand it's a bit of a faux pas to ask for medium at a steak restaurant, but I appreciate the accommodations. Fries were oily so I had to avoid them but the stand out was the yuca croquettes which were crisp on the outside and buttery and soft inside with a delicious sauce. The ceviche was fresh and the corn fritters served with them were 10/10. Service was very good but almost too quick. The server took away my appetizer before I finished and also took my silverware so I was waiting for a fork before I could eat my main. No big deal, but just hyper vigilant. We were checked up on no less than 5 times after starting our meal, drinks were never empty and the staff was very sweet and accommodating. The entry area is spacious and has a very open and comfortable feel which is contrasted by the tables which are pretty tightly spaced and close to together so much so that I could hear the people on both sides of me and had to elevate my volume above any normal level to talk during my meal. I think the overall space could be better organized. It's DARK. Not dimly lit, almost had to turn on my phone flashlight to see my dinner table. Overall for the taste and service I will definitely return!

Celebrated my husband's birthday with my son at Lolinda this week. We had a wonderful time! The bone marrow was so flavorful! The service was excellent and the environment of the restaurant was awesome.

4.5! It was awesome. Would love to go back! Anytime. I went with a friend for dinner and we both had a cocktail. I got the Pink House and he got the Negroni-- lovely and strong. We started with the ceviche de pescado with a crispy and unique corn fritter. We had the beef tartare which was creamy and the toast it came with was nice and buttery. Then we had the octopus and braised short ribs! The short ribs were both of our favorites-- rich and satisfying. Oh and we got yuca fries. Flavors were on point. Texture was all there. Would be happy to go back.

Tried Lolinda out as a group of 6! We had reservations, and were led upstairs and pretty quiet for the most part which was nice. (As we left for the night, it was pretty packed downstairs and a lot louder). We ordered quite a bit of food! -tartar de carne $15 -ceviche mixto $17 -pan de queso $10 -pulpo (octopus) $23 -milanesa napolitana (chicken thigh) $31 -seco de costilla (short rib) $38 -yuca fries $10 -gaucho (bone-in ribeye) $85 -hueso asado (bone marrow) $18 For dessert, we ordered: -chocotorta (chocolate cake) -churros All desserts $11. Overall, flavors were good. Plates are definitely tapas, so on the smaller side. Street parking if you're lucky. Otherwise, we parked in the garage about a block down.

    Broccolini

I told a friend I wanted to be surprised with dinner at a place we hadn't visited before, and she chose Lolinda. Funny enough, once I got there, I realized I had actually been before, possibly for my birthday last year. I remember having a great experience back then, enjoying a parrillada and finishing with delicious churros, but I never wrote a review since I was caught up celebrating. This time, we decided to explore different options. We started with the octopus, which was beautifully prepared, and the pão de queijo served with a honey butter that was absolutely irresistible. For the main course, we ordered the ribeye with broccolini. The broccolini had a subtle kick of spice that I actually really enjoyed, and the texture and doneness were just perfect. Their cocktail menu offers a great variety. We had a caipirinha and a margarita made with both tequila and mezcal such a bold and flavorful combination. Service was excellent. Our server whose name sounded something like Jeffrey (but not quite!) was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. To finish, I tried the alfajores, served with a creamy accompaniment that tied everything together beautifully. We left with a great taste in our mouths and an even better impression of the place. Lolinda is definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Second time here, and no complaints. The atmosphere is dim, moody, great for date night or a group celebration. Food was amazing, we got the croquetas, asado mixto, guacho, papas, and ceviche. The steak was tender and everything was well seasoned. Solid across the board. We had reservations since it was a big group, when we walked in we got seated right away, attentive servers, smooth from start to finish.

Our experience at Lolinda was amazing, recently found out about this place from our date night. The ambiance is very nice, definitely a good place to host celebrations since it has two floors. Our server was nice and explained to us what she recommended for drinks and food. We got the beef tartare to start and it was super yummy, but wanted there to be a little more bread. For our mains, we got their steak and broccolini. The steak was well-seasoned and rich, very nicely paired with the little sides they give such as the bread and chimichurri sauce. However, the broccolini really was something that stood out to me. It was uniquely flavorful and had me wanting to order more. Would come back to try other things on their menu!

Family Kids friendly or adults night out?

In my opinion Lolinda is more of an adults night out spot. It has a more elegant vibe than a family place.

    Is there Valet parking available?

No there is not. There is a garage not far around the corner and street parking.

Do you have to have a reservation?

Hi Joey! We happily accept walk-ins, but we strongly encourage making a reservation. This ensures that we can provide you with the best experience, as there might be occasions when immediate seating is not readily available.

    Do they have parking?

They do not -- it's on a busy street, but there are some parking garages a few blocks away. The 49 bus drops off right in front of the restaurant (I would recommend taking this instead!)

Is the happy hour available only at the bar?

Is Lolinda really noisy inside? I want to enjoy a conversation with my friends but I am concerned I won't be able to converse without yelling.

It's a little noisy but you can carry a conversation without yelling.

Can I purchase a gift certificate without coming in to the restaurant? I can't get anyone on the phone when I call about how to purchase.

    Yes. On our website.

    Do you offer gift certificates?

    Yes we do

I know you guys take reservations, but does Lolinda currently take walk-ins as well? Been having difficult getting through to a live person when I call the restaurant.

We absolutely take walk-ins. If we are unable to find a table for you, our bar area is open seating. We have 4 high top tables, a 12 person communal table and of course our terrific bar. Everything that is offered at our tables is offered in our… Read more

If I make a reservation at Lolinda, will I be able to get seated at El Techo after my meal without making a separate reservation?

I believe you'd need to make a separate reservation as they are two different establishments.

How viable is it to bring kids to Lolinda? Is it loud enough that two kids wouldn't bother other patrons? Or is it more a fancy, kid-free environment? Thanks!

As all of the others have answered, it is very loud and dark there, so you really wouldn't notice kids. But, the vibe and atmosphere is definitely grown-up and not a "kid" place. So, the food is also geared toward a more adult palate, and not kiddy… Read more

Is there a separate room or space for private dining?

Hi Holly, thank you for your question. While we do not have a private room/space for dining, we do offer a full buyout option of our Mezzanine area for large groups, or a group of tables for smaller events. If you're interested in more information,… Read more

How much is the corkage fee?

I don't know however their wine list is excellent and totally affordable. Leave your wine at home.

    Is there valet parking?

Hi Chris, I'm not sure. When I went, I used Uber. Take care.

Do we need to make reservations? Friday night.

I DEFINITELY would - but I don't believe I would go anywhere on a Thursday or weekend night without a resv.

What is your corkage fee or policy?

Hi Pedram, our corkage is $20 per bottle, maximum of 2 bottles. Thank you for your question, and please let us know if you need anything else!

    Can we share an entrée?

Yeah, most of the menu items are meant to be shared. I usually order a couple items per person and share them all.

Do you have gluten free options?

Hi Jason, thanks for reaching out. Yes we have gluten free options, if you just mention it to your server upon arrival, they will happily help you navigate through your options. Hope to see you soon!

Is there dining at the bar and how are walk-in's handled on a Friday night?

Yes there is and walk ins are taken fast from my experience. Group of 5 around 8 taken right away!

Very much appreciated that accommodation. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and tasted even better. There was a special with homemade focaccia, ricotta, pesto, and eggplant + tomato tapenade. I could have eaten a bowl of every ingredient individually, and together they were even better than the sum of the parts. We also had the curry chicken croquettes, citrus caesar, confit octopus, and gnocchi - all fantastic. And the drinks - next level. I had the Sam Fernando and it was dangerously drinkable, I had to order a second. My partner's Bird of Paradise bamboozled us with its clarified coconut milk - so wild to drink something CLEAR that tasted so much like a piña colada! Our other two party members had NA drinks that were also nuanced and delicious. I will very eagerly come back whenever I have the opportunity!

Filet Mignon is Medium Rare Perfection... Beautiful pink center, warm red ring, crust that had a nice sear. The Bordelaise sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and had that deep red-wine reduction thing going on. But the steak itself had zero salt. The sauce tried its best, but a steak shouldn't need to be drowned to have flavor. M&L Burger. Juicy, But Also... Juicy? That's It. But again: no seasoning. The beef itself was bland. There was a bacon jam or sauce on it that added some smokiness, but when I took a bite without it (just to test), I was met with... nothing. Just wet, unseasoned meat. Parmesan Truffle Fries were legit, crispy, hot, tossed in enough parmesan and truffle. The portion was huge (feeds 2-3 easily). Black Truffle Mac & Cheese. First few bites? Creamy, luxurious, black truffle shavings. But by the fourth or fifth forkful, it got heavy. Missing acid. A little hit of something sour like lemon, would have saved it. Also, the pasta was overcooked. Peaches & Crème Tart was Aggressively sour. The peaches were fine, but the yuzu sauce underneath was so overwhelmingly acidic that it felt like a prank. My face scrunched up like I'd bitten into a live battery. The crème was there somewhere, but it got completely bulldozed. One bite was enough. I left the rest. My dentist would approve. If you do go, order the fries, bring your own salt grinder, and skip the tart unless you enjoy punishment. Service was great btw.

The vibes and service were standout. Overall value for the experience is unmatched even amongst its Michelin peers. Venue: Tucked in between Mission and Potrero Hill districts, San Ho Won's unassuming white exterior opens up to traditional "period Korean shop" decor. Unfinished wood in the furniture and dishware give off humble+rustic, yet clean+professional vibes simutaniously. Food: Excellent. Each dish in the set menu is rich and unique, highlighting different flavors of Korean cusine. My favorites include the beef neck and the kimchi pork stew. San Ho Won thankfully avoids the cardinal sin of high end dining--having bland main dishes. While many 1-star restaurants will have interesting starters (and alcohol to soften your expectations), the mains often sober you up and leave you wanting. San Ho Won's mains provided a satisfying impact that left me smiling. Service: While I was seated promptly, the staff were very forgiving that my partner got stuck in traffic and had to start the menu late. Every staff member was warm and thoughtful in general, and accomidating to our requests (late add on, delay next dish by 10 minutes, etc.). They also provided a cute Polaroid and fridge magnet to help celebrate our anniversary for the night. Takeaways San Ho Won beats out many of the other 1-star restaurants I've experienced in SF and in other US cities in taste, in service, and in value. I'm excited to come back and try their a la carte menu, as their tasteful set menu suggests many more hidden gems worth trying in the future.
