I was excited to check out this shop during my trip to South Padre. it seemed like a fun place for surf gear, summer clothes, and souvenirs. But I was honestly shocked and disappointed to see the store filled with Trump, MAGA, and Elon Musk/SpaceX merchandise. It's a huge turnoff, especially when you're just trying to enjoy a beach vacation and support local businesses. I came in looking for beachwear, not political propaganda. I walked right out. So we didn't get to souvenir shop as much when we were here as there was a huge storm and most of the island was without electricity. Luckily this place was open, plus how could not want to go through a giant shark's mouth to a shop? They had a lot of stuff and it was priced reasonably I guess. I'm not sure because this was the only place we shopped at. The employees weren't rude but they weren't friendly. They were just there to do a job and nothing extra. I would probably come back to check it out again but I for sure would check out other places as I'd rather pay a little more and get friendly customer service. This place is sells worthless junk which was clear after walking through the place for only 5 minutes. What's worse is that the Jaws souvenir store, the hotel next door and a tow truck company are working together to scam you. The is not parking in front of the souvenir store, but plenty of parking next door. There aren't any clear signs that the parking lot is private and you will be towed. I was parked for no longer than 5 minutes and when we walked out our vehicle was already loaded on a tow truck. The police were called and they wouldn't help. Some local walked by and said these tow truck arrangements are all over the island and it's a big scam. Beware of this crummy cheap souvenir shop and just pass it by or you'll end up paying for more than just a piece of junk souvenir!!!! read more

Decent souvenir shop. They have everything from toys, shirts, typical other souvenir items. We looked around as we wanted and tried on a shirt or two. Ended up finding a key chain with my name on it! I never find anything with my name on it. Also bought a tie dye rubber chicken for my parrot. He loves it. We weren't followed around nor did we ever feel uncomfortable in the store like other reviews stated. We frequent south padre for vacation every few years and always have our favorite stores we stop in. This is one! read more

This place is full of cheap, overpriced garbage. I bought a crappy bathing suit for $30 and made the mistake of not trying it on because everything I wear is size L and they looked ok. After I tried them on, they were more like a size small so I came back the next day to return them and they wouldn't take a return, only exchange so I had to walk out of there with another crappy bathing suit. This place is a rip off. All other shops offer their iron ones included in the price of a shirt. This shop charges extra and then the decal peels off within minutes of wearing it. I stopped here today to purchase souvenirs for my family. I stopped here last year and the same thing happened last year, but I dismissed it as just my imagination but hey, it happened again, so I can no longer look past it. As soon as I stepped foot into this store, an employee was following me, everywhere I went. It was so blatantly obvious, that my young 12 year niece noticed. My intent was to spent a good amount of money buying souvenirs but 1) I don't feel comfortable being followed and stared at 2) this is a horrible way to treat customers and 3) I just couldn't get past the fact that this is their practice. The same thing happened to me last year and I seriously brushed it off as something I was imagining but it's not. If you are that concerned about people stealing, buy a better surveillance system or better cameras. You are chasing people off. I'm not sure how people can steal large items like t-shirts on hooks but yet someone is standing 1 foot behind you making sure you don't. Walked into this shop looking for some souvenirs for friends back in cubicle land. Two female attendants sort of greeted me upon my entrance (the good 'ol head nod). As soon as I looked at some of the clothing items, I noticed one of the female attendants was following me everywhere I went! Overpriced items and silly attendants working. If I could leave a zero star review I would! The two women working in this disgusting smelling, messy, un-stocked warehouse of a "gift shop" were extremely hateful and piss-poor. There was no public restroom. Now, this factor is understandable in most cases but these poor excuses for "employees" had terrible demeanors. And it lit my fire. When I went to check out, I received an eye roll from the woman who stated nothing but my total. I said "well hello to you too!" in attempt to lighten her mood, but received yet another eye roll. After handing over my card, I asked, "since I've spent 45 minutes and 45 dollars in here, may I use the restroom?" I received yet a third eye roll and an attitude driven response. Not to worry though, I took care of my issue in the back corner of your disgusting store. Enjoy cleaning that up during your understaffed shift! P.S. Do NOT give these people your money! As soon as I walked in with my wife and kids tonight we were all immediately followed around the store by several employees. It's apparent that they treat everyone as thieves. As we were shopping my 5 year old told me he needed to use the restroom. We were frankly told by the staff that we can only use their restroom if we buy something. While I was in the store, I inquired about the restroom. A girl told me where it was but that she thought someone was in there. So I was waiting by the door for the bathroom to be available. Another girl told me the bathroom was out of order. I asked. "So is this bathroom really out of order or just not for customers???" She said it's not for customers. I came here just to take a picture with the shark with my family but went in to look around. I was looking for a gift to bring home to a friend and customer service was horrible!!!!!!!! I work customer service retail and service but following someone arms length and staring is not the way to divert theft. I was looking at a shell jewelry box when a Mexican bleached out blonde lady "can't miss her" came to "customer service" me! First I didn't understand because I don't speak Spanish. Went here on the hunt for an affordable bathing suit and found it! The woman in charge of the fitting rooms was so helpful! She showed us everything we needed and picked out 5 swimsuits for me to try on. Then walked my husband around to find everything he needed. I wish I could have gotten her name she was so nice!! Awful selection, awful service, no restrooms for customers, still managed to waste $30

We were looking at the tiny glass bottles filled with sand and shells and we noticed one was empty so I grabbed it by it's cork, which on every other glass bottle, it was glued shut, but not on this bottle. So the little bottle fell and broke, immediately the cashier ran over and asked me if I dropped it. I explained to him it was an empty bottle and the cork was unglued. He accepted that answer then went and talked to his manager about it. The manager then walked across the store and told us we had to pay or leave, we asked how much it would cost and the manager said $25. I asked how much one cost and she said $1 but they come in packs of $25. I complain that she was trying to charge us $25 for a one dollar bottle of sand that was empty. She immediately told us to leave the store. I offered to pay the full $25 dollars after I pointed out how ridiculous it was that they were trying to make me pay $25 dollars for a one dollar item and then manager proceeded to tell us to leave again, so we just left and spent our money at the other shops on the island. This is horrible treatment of the customers. I understand the frustration of a customer breaking an object, but when you try to get someone to pay 2500% on a broken item, that isn't repayment,That's a god damn scam. read more

While visiting SPI this week I lost my cell phone. I was so upset thinking about the thousands of pictures I had lost as I hadn't been uploading to the Cloud as recommended. My level headed sister decided to call the phone and a pleasant friendly voice answered my phone. She directed us to the store Jaws by it's obvious entrance to safely retrieve my misplaced phone. Come to find out it was an employee who had found my phone in the store. She refused the small reward I offered her with a smile. I am so grateful for this very sweet and honest young lady. I will be buying my next souvenirs in this store to support a business that has such amazing staff! Thank you!! read more

This should be illegal! They proudly sell, what they say are real, dead baby sharks incased in a blue liquid container. Sick, stupid and wrong. I wanted to believe they were fake, but they bragged about how they were real and were shocked when I vented my disgust and revulsion. Do not go there. Do not buy anything from them. They have the same SPI shirts all the other places have. The entry way shark does make for a good photo opportunity, though, so this makes them stand out. I wanted two custom shirts in different sizes. When I couldn't find the two shirts in the same color, they agreed to put the designs on shirts I brought in. When I returned with my two shirts, they ended up not having the designs I wanted. Instead of sending me on my way, they called around and found a shop that had them. I thought that was very nice of them. They didn't have to do that. read more

Went to this store with my family because my nephews wanted to go the store. It was my nephews and niece first time in the island. We were greeted by a lady who I thought was nice at the time. Well she ended up following us even my 10 year old nephew noticed, He thought she was following just him. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life.
