We've been taking our dog to Jax for over a year now and are genuinely happy with the experience (and the flexibility to combine having a wonderful, but high energy dog that could play FOREVER with having to go to work). While there is a bit of staff turnover (which is always sad when you and the dog form a bond with them) team members are all super friendly and caring. We often get stories about how she made new friends with this or that dog in the evening, which we love hearing. If she gets sick, we get a call so we have the chance to coordinate next steps, if she is a bit sassier than normal she gets a report card and I feel well-informed and able to decide on what to do next. Also - one day, she made a bit of a mess of herself right after I picked her up and the staff helped me to get her cleaned up before driving home. Super super awesome and going above and beyond for sure. Our dog herself loves to go and play - her wiggles will certainly show you, and she loves all of the handlers (from what I've seen at least!). The only downside is that when i pick her up after ~7pm she seems to smell a tad of mop water, but all in all our experience is great :) read more

My pup loves this place. The staff are all kind and caring. It looks clean and you can watch your pup on the TV screen. I don't think I would overnight-board there because the accommodations are limited, but it's a safe place to drop off my dog when we need to be gone for a few hours. Not enough people to take care of many dogs. Staff is always changing, always. In the past I have dropped my dog off and only 1 lady was taking care of everything. The owner of this place is never around unfortunately, just wants to make $ and our dogs pay the price by getting sick because is not a clean facility. Request a tour inside. Where do I start? They barely clean their boarding kennels, if at all. All they do is mop them. (Hello, kennel cough??) When cleaning the play areas, they do it with the dogs *still in* the areas so the dogs are constantly exposed to chemicals (breathing it in, and stepping in it!). When I asked the managers if the chemicals were safe for dogs, she said, "They might get a little upset stomach, but they'll survive." That did not sit right with me. No matter how sick the dog gets, each dog is different! They have different allergies! And even so, I don't want any dogs exposed to ANY cleaning chemicals REGARDLESS of how safe it is. Also, they give out treats without getting consent from owners. So, if your dog is allergic to something or has a strict diet, they'll probably be getting treats and such without your knowing. And yes, I know how that sounds. What dog doesn't deserve a treat? But if they start throwing up or having diarrhea after their stay, its probably because they were given food that wasn't theirs. I understand that most of the employees are cross-trained, so they're able to help in the back and up front, but they give out keys to the whole facility less than two weeks of working there. I dunno, to me, that is just.. a little too risky. How do you know you can fully trust/depend on that employee after only a few weeks? They are terrible at training their new employees, too. Barely any communication, and just expect you to know what to do. I anticipated that since this was such a small, SMALL location that they would take better care of their dogs and have better cleaning routines, but it was quite the contrary. Bring your dog here at your own risk. TL;DR -- This place does NOT feel ethical to me. I was very uncomfortable working for these people and exposing these dogs to chemicals on a daily basis. I would not recommend this location. I don't know if this goes for all Jax locations, but it does apply to this one (Redmond). If you're considering it, I'd request a tour of the facility before you decide to let your dog stay. Take this review/advice or leave it. Thought I'd give customers an inside scoop because this all made me have a guilty conscience! read more

The ladies that are at front desk and spend the day with dogs are friendly and really seem to care for the dogs. However, mine was attacked twice at this facility in the same week by a dog that was known to be aggressive. When I tMy dog came home with a torn ear from this dog and the staff was clearly shaken up. The owner called me and told me this was my dog's issue. I have never since taken my dog back nor do I recommend. **Peter, the owner, has reached out to me and has been very communicative about the policies about Jax and how aggressive dogs are not allowed at their facilities. While my experience was not aligned to that, I appreciate the transparent conversation and Peter clearly wants to make it right. He is taking the time to understand what happened and make sure it doesn't continue. I still will not be using the facility but am pleased with the response and how the incident is being managed post fact. read more

I've been bringing my 6mo old Siberian Husky Gray here for about 2 months now. I bring her in on the days I'm at work so she doesn't have to be at home alone, and I gotta say it's worth every dollar. The drop off is super easy, the staff there know her by name and just take her and off she happily goes to see all her besties. When I pick her up I always like to watch her in the tv screens and she's always super happy and you can tell the staff all love being around dogs. I mean who wouldn't!? Gray is always suuuper tired for the rest of the night, which is pretty nice after my long day of work. We will be coming her a long time! read more

The manager (Madison) is delusional, dictator, difficult to work with and has no control over her emotions. My 11 month passed his temperament test at this location and has been going to this location. Everything was going well and rosy when he started day care on Feb 17, 2023 until I met with manager on March 1. The handlers used to tell me he cowers in front of other dogs but Madison tells me he has a lot of energy and I should bring him only for half day and that too between 8 am to 9 am, alternate days. After Mar 1, even the handlers' tone changed. According to Madison, he doesn't know personal space (delusional. How many of you knew personal space at 11 months?) Even though, their half day policy doesn't suit my work times, I agreed. I usually have meetings from 10 am to 3 pm. I took him for on Mar 6 and Mar 8 for half day. I asked Madison how my dog is doing. She made dirty and demeaning expressions (talk about customer service) saying he was hyper. My response was he comes for half day what do you expect? I tried to meet her in the middle and asked her if I bring him daily for half day do you think it will work. She says (again dirty and demeaning expressions) I don't think it will fix the problem and this will not work permanently but i am okay trying for sometime. I asked her if i take him to a park before bringing him to the day care will it work? she agreed but with demeaning face expressions. It was so clear that she has made up her mind that this puppy is hopeless. Later when she brought my puppy from inside she was rude to my dog when I was standing outside. At this point I decided never to send him back. If she can be rude to him in front of me, imagine her behavior when I am not present. I don't feel safe sending my puppy. If she can be a dictator with her customers, imagine how she must be with handlers reporting to her! No wonder their tone changed after Madison talked to me. What kind of professional Madison is? She is manager, according to website, she is certified and can't handle a puppy? I was trying to accommodate her needs but she has a way of putting people down. Once someone is on her negative side, that someone is out. She really needs lessons in customer service and keeping a poker face. read more

My dog started having diarrhea/vomit the next day after we had a full day dog daycare. We prepared his meal when we dropped him off for day care. I am not sure whether they feed my dog the food we prepared. Edit: Owner gets back to me and confirmed that my dog was fed the food we brought. My dog recovered one day later after he had diarrhea. Took our dog here to give her a bath and I loved the place. It was $15 for 15 min and they gave us the shampoo, face wash, ear wash, wash cloth, drying towel, and a scrubber to really get her clean. Our dog didn't care for the dryer but don't think many dogs do. The facility was very clean and the staff were super friendly. We will definitely be back with our girl. Oh and in case you need more time, it's $10 more for another 15 minutes. read more

I have been using Jax exclusively for the last couple years, and now they opened up a new shop in Redmond. It is just as good as the other one in Newcastle.I have 1 dog that is very high energy and am pretty picky about how much exercise he needs and gets. I have never been worried or concerned about leaving my dogs at Jax. He always comes home tuckered out and happy. This place is amazing and takes great care of my dog I also use Jax for drop in care when I have an unexpected late meeting or am going to be gone for a long day. I drop him off and he p-lays all day and has the best time. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they love to take care of your dog. If you live in the Redmond/Kirkland/Woodinville area, there is not a better place to take your dog. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Jax! We have been long time clients at the Bellevue location and just started using Redmond as well. Everyone is so wonderful! My dog comes home happy and exhausted after every visit! I am so confused by the negative reviews as my dog always comes home clean and the facility is clean (Yes, it smells like dogs are around but its a dog daycare I would be concerned if it didn't). As someone who has had bad experiences with having my dog attacked in the past at other facilities I like that they are strict with their initial testing it makes me feel secure know they actually care. read more

Terrible experience at the Redmond location. We spoke to Riley over the phone about the temperament test. He was great and informative, we had never boarded our dog before so this entire experience was new to us and our dog. We went in expecting the same customer service, unfortunately, that was not the case. The lady that checked us in was friendly, not so welcoming but it seemed like she may be new as she was struggling checking our dog in. We were told by a lady with pink hair that it would be 2-4 hours, after hour 5 we called to check on our dog and were told "he's fine, you can pick him up if you want". Didn't mention the test or the fact that it had been 5 hrs when she said it would be 2-4. We picked him up and had to pull the info out of her. Unfortunately our dog had been mounting other dogs and had to be physically removed from the other pups. At this point I had no interest in discussing this with her as she had been a terrible communicator. We called the Bellevue location to see if we could bring him in to see if the outcome would be different and were told the manager declined because they uphold the same standards. Just a tip, maybe work on the standards you have for your employees as well. read more

I needed to do a shout out to this location due to the friendliness of the staff, how they care for Johnny, and the overall great experience we've had there. Johnny is a little anxious and has a bit of separation anxiety. They loved on him and he was a happy camper. We will definitely be bringing Johnny back. We recently got a puppy and unexpectedly had to leave town. We were worried about leaving him but heard great things about Jax. We left our puppy there and I can honestly say he didn't want to come home. He had such a great time playing with all the other dogs. We were able to follow along on Facebook as they posted pictures. My dog Neville ADORES the folks at Jax. He is always so excited to get there, and you can tell they love him, too! The hours work perfectly for my job, and their prices seriously can't be beat. When my dog had problems at the beginning of his time at Jax, they worked with him and made sure he and the other dogs were safe and happy. When he hurt himself, they immediately called and explained what happened. They spend quality time getting to know all the dogs, and it's comforting to know that Neville is safe and getting plenty of love, fun, and exercise while I'm at work. Overall, I would totally recommend Jax, and we're so sad that we're moving. Neville is going to miss seeing them daily - but you can bet we'll still use Jax for overnight boarding! read more

I brought my dog in this week and really enjoyed the first day but was a little hesitant because he's small. His first day on Tuesday was great, but today I came in to pick him up - nothing seemed off - he was sitting in the lap of an employee getting pets. I paid and took him over to Pet Pros where he's a regular and the employee there noticed a notch and dried blood on his ear. The cut clearly happened earlier in the day and not a single word from the employee at check out. I called and left a message for the regional manager Scott Bleau (how is there a "regional manager" when there are two locations and they're both in Washington State??) to give me a call and the employee said "Give me a reason to have them call you." I received a call from an anonymous number an hour later from the regional saying to give him or the manager Brittney a call tomorrow. If a customer is asking to speak to you specifically, my suggestion is to not pawn it off on someone below you. You look incompetent and lazy. If I'm taking the time to drive my dog to a facility and entrust you with my dog, you damn well better call me when I specifically ask for you to discuss the lack of care I felt happened at your facility and don't call me from behind a blocked number like you're in middle school. Scott blamed my dog for his bite and has a surprising lack of social skills. Im surprised the St. Pierre family hasn't fired him. read more

He's sweet and doesn't guard toys, though he gets obsessed with chasing balls, as many dogs do. Our pup gives this place 4 paws up! She loves dropping by and playing with her friends when her humans are busy and don't want to leave her alone at home. Love that they post pictures of the day on their facebook page so we always get to see our girl even when we can't be with her. Drop off and pick up is quick and painless and rates are comparable (if not better) then area doggy daycares. Full service stop. Have only used their drop off daycare but it appears they offer many other services as well. Located in downtown Redmond, with plenty of parking and close proximity to area shops, lodging and hotels.
