Well, they told us our dogs are no longer welcome there. Do our dogs misbehave? No. Do they bite at the groomer? Also, no. Their crime is not liking the process, and then whining and being stressed out. Never mind they come home happy and prance about. Well, dogs need grooming, even if they don't like it. What are we supposed to do, not groom them? Shame because we always felt they did a good job. The groomers remembered the dogs, knew how to work with them, handled seasonal cuts, were friendly, and had reasonable prices. But if they won't help our dogs anymore, none of that matters. read more

I was hoping that a place close to my home was going to work out for my Mini Doodle, but unfortunately Scruff to Fluff isn't a good fit. First they called the day of my appt to reschedule, which can happen, but caused me to have to wait another 2 weeks for an appointment. When I arrived at my appt, I told the groomer she had matting and I just wanted her to have a full shave except her tail. I was surprised when I got a call after 1.5 hours that she was done, especially when their site says less than 4 hours, I assumed she would be there at least 2. My dog gets nervous with groomers despite having been groomed monthly until my previous mobile groomer moved in August, so I'm sure she was challenging, but I wasn't aware of an added $20 charge until I asked for an itemized receipt and only then was I informed I was changed because she was harder to handle. She did have matting, esp after two additional weeks of waiting, so I was prepared for an extra change for that; however she is a 32 lb miniature Goldendoodle, and while her legs are long, she is not a large dog, but I was charged for a large dog. By the time I paid and tipped, it was nearly $250! As my dog was brought out, her face and ears were not shaved. Thankfully the groomer said no problem they absolutely will cut her correctly and she was taken back to finish her cut. When I got home, I still had to cut long pieces of hair from her stomach, feet, ears and legs. When a dog shows signs of discomfort, I understand it makes the groomers job more difficult, but at $148 for a haircut to begin with, time and patience should be built into this price. read more

I took my nine month old Havanese puppy to Scrub to Fluff in Kirkland to take care of matting outside the ears. My puppy also had small mattings under the arm so I asked the groomer to take care of the mattings and trim his coat similar to a photo I showed her for a Havanese puppy cut that I wanted him to look like. She said that this cannot be done and that he has to be shaved all over, as he will not look good with only the arms shaved. I was not comfortable with full grooming, better yet with shaving which is not recommended for Havanese dogs, but she assured me that this will not hurt his coat, and it is the only thing that can be done . My biggest regret is that I listened to her thinking that she is knowledgeable and left my puppy to her care. I called them ten minutes later, and as no one answered, I left a voice mail requesting that they not shave him as this will damage the hair follicles in havenese dogs and will affect his coat for life. I then immediately went in person but unfortunately he was already shaved. When I explained to the groomer, that this should not have been done to havenese dogs as they have double coat. The owner came out telling me that shaving will not harm the coat, that she has been in this business for 30 years, and insisted that havanese do not have double coats. When I showed her otherwise on the internet, she mocked me for getting my information from the internet. I really cannot believe that a groomer 30 years in the business would not know that havanese dogs have double coat and that shaving wil do harm. I blame myself that I listened to the groomer thinking that she would know and recommend what is best for the dog, not what is easier and faster for her to do. This groomer is more than just amazing, I called yesterday trying to figure out what I should do for my 11 month old Pomeranian to get her first haircut, not only did they answer all my questions and concerns they made room in their scheduling and took her in today. I never, ever do reviews, so it's a huge deal if I'm doing one. We've been to 3 groomers in 8 months, and though they were all nice and friendly, the grooming experience was not what were hoping for. We kept going to the others because our little 2 year old toy poodle has to have regular groomings and because Scruff to Fluff was not taking new dogs at that time. We were so excited when we were able to finally schedule our grooming with Scruff to Fluff. We had heard great things about them. Right off, I love that they scheduled my appointment. At the other groomers I drop her off in the morning and leave her in a kennel until its her turn for a groom and then pick her up 4 hours later. with Scruff to Fluff I was able to drop her off and pick her up one and a half hours later. Our experience was so much better than I expected. our Gigi is quite anxious with groomers, when I have picked up our little dog at other groomers in the past she is always franticly trying to get out of their arm to get to me. This time when the Scruff to Fluff gal brought her out she was so calm I couldn't believe it. I was talking to the girl while she was still holding our little Gigi and she just sat there in her arms so calmly. To me seeing my dog at ease makes all the difference, it tells me they were good to her and she trusted them. A++ Her groom looked so good!!! She looks just the way we were hoping. At other groomers she feels soft for a day, maaaybe 2. It's been 4 days and she still feels as soft as when I picked her up and she still smells so good. Today was the second time I took my miniature labradoodle Winston to Scruff To Fluff. The first time, they did a great job and while my Dood was happy to be done, he was not stressed which was a good sign. And they had him done in about two hours. My litmus test though, was his reaction when we went back. This morning, he did not drag his paws at all: just a slight hesitation going back. And that's because he knew what was up, but he must like the folks well enough to go regardless! Beware of hidden charges! Grooming itself there is just okay-they basically shave him down. (IF you can get them to answer the phone to make an appt) My small dog was apparently giving them trouble, trying to bite the tools etc. When I picked him up I was presented with the "choose tip" screen, unaware they charged me $20+ for the dog being difficult. If they called me and said they'd have to charge me extra because he wasn't cooperating I'd have said, "yep, sorry-ok" But they did not-they just gave me a note (after transaction was completed). Three years old, countless grooming here and elsewhere (my fave moved) They don't have the patience to handle skittish dogs, they shady-charge you for their limited expertise & their customer interactions have become generally surly. Seriously terrible experience. I'd taken my pup there several times and she seems terrified each time I got her back. They failed to trim hair between her paws as she asked multiple times. Several times they actually nicked her (she was licking those spots). Today my wife saw into back and dogs were not under control and she could hear our dog in distress from the other very large dogs. The person at the counter was sullen, impatient and rude and later the manager called and said she refused to scheduled us again because WE were rude! Unbelievable! Don't take your dog here. It's dangerous (other dogs not under control and roaming and they aren't careful and nick the dogs) and not any cheaper and than anywhere else. Today was the first time I took my baby Ace to scruff To Fluff. I loved the fact that the groomer came out to make my baby feel comfortable after I told the lady about his last Experience at another location. Plus my baby wasn't to fine of other dogs. She insured me that he will be okay and she will do everything slowly with him. When I tell you my baby came out so happy and handsome I was like OMG he wasn't afraid no more!! Thank you thank you! This is the first time that I have owned a breed (Havanese) that requires regular grooming so I needed some education which Roxy and her team were happy to provide. For example, two of the things that I wanted but did not know how to ask for were the "face and feet" package and the "hygiene cut". Hair grows between the Havanese footpads and it needs to be tended to for the dog's comfort and cleanliness. The Havenese hair grows down over up pup's face and there are three general options; leave it, put it up in a tie, or cut the bangs. I was given all three options and chose to have Rory's bangs cut. The Havanese has a lot of hair "in the back" and it can be messy if there's an issue such as might occur during a food change with a puppy. This happened to us, resulting in the dreaded Havanese "butt bath". When I explained this to Roxy and the other groomer they suggested the "hygiene cut" which would help alleviate butt baths in the future. As I mentioned earlier, this is my first time owning a breed requiring professional grooming and I am myself not really qualified to judge quality except that it all looked good to me. I did post Rory's post-grooming photos on a Havenese forum of which I am a member and the senior members all said that the groomer did an excellent job. The senior members on the forum do not mince words when they see improper Havanese grooming, but the clear consensus was that Scruff to Fluff had done excellent work. Additionally, I can say that the customer service was excellent, as was the timeliness in which the grooming was done. I dropped Rory off, walked over to George's for breakfast, and the shop called me to tell me I could pick her up just as I was paying my check at George's. read more

Some groomers have you leave your dog for hours on end and have them in cages half the time waiting for their turn, but not Scruff to Fluff. When my Shih Tzu named Dizzy started showing big signs of aging in addition to having small seizures and tremors, I couldn't bring her to Petco for a groom anymore- she needed special 1 on 1 attention with experienced groomers. I started bringing her to Scruff to Fluff and they seriously made caring for my dog in her old age so much easier- because let's face it, it is hard when their health is deteriorating, you want them to be comfortable. Erikka was so helpful in accommodating us for every appointment and the grooms were always careful, thorough and quick, which was what we needed because at that point, dizzy had a short fuse with how much she could handle with her tremors. I cannot stress enough how helpful and relieving this was, given the health concerns and circumstances. Dizzy has since passed so I have not had a need for a groomer in the last six months but realized I never submitted a review- scruff to fluff is an excellent grooming service provider. They care about the dogs, are time efficient, communicate well (I super appreciated this- they are to the point and no bullshit in communicating realistic expectations), and are just talented at handling and grooming. I recently moved to the Seattle area and shortly after arriving my pup stepped in something super sticky (we were told later it was sap)! It was matted in all her paws and was extremely difficult for us to get out. I called Scruff to Fluff as soon as they opened, explained the situation, and asked if there was any way they could squeeze my dog in same day. Not only did they get her in, but they did one of the best grooming jobs Ive seen done on my dog - and in less time than most places! My dog is a 90lb shedding machine so this was very impressive. We recently took our dog to have her groomed again by Scruff to Fluff and again, they did an amazing job. The staff are very nice and sensitive to my concerns about my dog being an escape artist. We've been to a lot of groomers over the years but Scruff to Fluff is by far the best. read more

We have an extremely fearful, reactive puppy who most groomers said they couldn't help. Even her vet wouldn't trim her nails - they said she'd need to be put under anesthesia in order for them to even try. She wouldn't even let us give her a trim after many months of constant practice. Her nails were getting too long, and we were desperate for help. Then we called to Scruff to Fluff. They had nothing but confidence that she could be helped. They have experience with reactive dogs and told us they'd be happy to work with her. We came in, and they introduced themselves to her slowly, while we were still there to comfort her. Then, they took her in the back, and lo and behold - they did it! They did a fantastic job on her nails and got all of them done. The folks at Scruff to Fluff were wonderful to work with. I was so happy to have met groomers who were willing to take our pup on despite her challenges. I would give them ten stars if I could. We will absolutely be going back again! I cannot recommend this place enough! Seriously! I don't leave reviews often but they deserve it for sure. We have a 4yo super timid/scared/anxious and sometimes aggressive Aussiedoodle. They were extremely gentle and patient with our girl and dang they were fast too. The fact they took their time to meet & greet before taking her back as just another dog on the books made my dog mama heart happy! We all stress when it's vet/grooming time but we are so comfortable knowing we have an amazing new "grooming home" for our girl. I have been taking my dog here for over two years now. My puppy was comfortable with the staff here so I didn't mind going all the way to Kirkland even when we moved. But the recent management change has just brought in very unfriendly staff. When my dog got her haircut here a couple of months back the groomer literally threw my dog over the door and pretty much shaved my dog from top to bottom instead of giving her a haircut. I gave them the benefit of doubt only to be disappointed again. My dog got the worse haircut ever this weekend and doesn't even look like a doodle anymore. Also when we called to confirm her pickup time the staff was very rude and curt. We will not be going there back again. If you can't be nice to me how do I trust you to be nice to my dog. read more

Didn't have a good experience here, I wouldn't recommend. The service staff aren't very friendly and everything seems disorganized. When we checked in for our first appointment, I mentioned our small dog didn't like dogs bigger than him. Well I come to pick him up and I see that he is just standing shaking on the floor next to a few large dogs who are just roaming freely. Their back room is TINY- it is extremely poor idea to have several large dogs in a very small enclosed space, that's how accidents happen. I was honestly so angry that my poor pup was in such a distresssing environment and that no one noticed he was distressed enough to pick him up and put him in a crate. When I asked them about it, the groomer seemed to have no idea that I mentioned he didn't like bigger dogs. Then I asked to schedule again and she confirmed I was on the schedule for a 7am Saturday appointment the following month. I followed up via email to cancel the appointment and they said they had no record of me having an appointment .... Worst of all, they are $20 MORE expensive than other competitors in the area. I honestly have no idea why people come here when you could pick other places, and I absolutely wouldn't come here if your dog gets nervous around other dogs. I didn't feel like I could trust them again to take care of him. read more

We took our labradoodle puppy for partial grooming today and were so disappointed with the end result. They completely shaved the face area and when I enquired why they did it, the groomer said that the puppy had matting on his face. I brush my puppy's face on a regular basis and I know there was no matting. He had such a cute round face and I cried when I saw him after his grooming session. I found this place last fall when I moved to the area. I found tons of places that groomed dogs, but this place also groomed cats. The lady, who I think is the owner, is always friendly and welcoming. She obviously loves animals and treats every animal that comes in like long lost family. Price are normal and the place is nothing fancy. They do a good job of grooming pets and also have great hours. They are open Saturday and Sunday. I have called a few times at the last minute and they squeezed me in. My dog is a rescue so she is really skittish. She doesn't mind being here at all. My cat, who thinks he is dog, stays calm and relaxed and comes out looking so handsome. Try a lion cut on your long hair cat! Cut and so much cooler for them. Will keep going here! read more

I've taken my Shiba Inu here for the past few months and I love the job they do on him. He just needs a bath and de-shedding treatment and they do a great job here. Shibas shed a ton and the treatments he gets here help more than anything else I've tried. The staff is also really nice and my normally nervous dog doesn't mind coming here at all. One thing worth nothing, however, is that they recently changed their policy to accept cash or check only - no debit or credit. That's the only reason I'm giving this place four stars out of five. I never have cash on me and I have so few checks that this ends up being a minor inconvenience. It won't stop me from coming though, just thought it was worth a mention. read more
