What a cute and cozy little spot! I loved my little coworker time at JAX! Arrived for some drinks with coworkers at around 6pm and I immediately fell in love with the masuline dark energy of this spot. Dark sexy interior and a quiet vibe. It was so sleek and chic. There is a limited menu of nibbles so there are a few restaurants around that work with JAX where you can have delivered right to JAX. Definitely came in clutch. Loved the 2 glasses of Cab I've had! I'm a big fan of red wine, so it was super delicious. I love finding spots that produce their own wine. Super cute spot! I loved that its tiny and little hidden. Definitely a spot to put on my list for when im back in town.

I've been following this winery for quite some time, so when I knew I'd be in town for work, I had to stop by their tasting room. What a great spot- the atmosphere is lively, there's often live music, and it's full of locals. A truly piece of the wine country right there in the SF bay You can choose from different wine flights or simply grab a bottle to share, which makes it perfect for groups. I went for the Jax Reserve Flight, which included: - Dutton Ranch Chardonnay (the wine that first made me fall in love with this brand!) - Calesa Pinot Noir (not really my cup of tea) - Cabernet Franc (absolutely loved this one- I even took a bottle home!) - and two Cabernet Sauvignons that rounded out the flight beautifully. To pair with the wines, I ordered a charcuterie board filled with locally sourced cheeses, meats, olives, and crackers. So yummy It's definitely worth a visit. Can't wait to go back!

Made a reservation for last Saturday afternoon at 4pm. We got lucky as the first ones in and seated next to the fireplace! Pretty full from a late lunch, we started out with 2 flights. Neither of us loved the last 2 drinks and ordered a glass of the first one - guess we like our drinks light! We thought it might get more crowded as time went on but it was pretty quiet between 4-6:30pm. There were 5 parties including us throughout the whole time we were there. Good service throughout, affordable pricing. Maybe there wasn't a crowd because of the cold, and since we didn't stay past dinner time. Blankets might be a nice touch. Did think it was cool how they partner with Rooh, would definitely order some appetizers next time and plan accordingly!

JAX is the place to be before a night game or after a day game in SF! All you SF Giants fans, win or lose, come enjoy moments and memories with some amazing wine, family, friends, and charcuterie boards. Chill location. Fantastic wines (try their Pinot)! And an amazing atmosphere! Ditch the loud, chaotic scene of the local bars, walk a block from Oracle, and enjoy ambiance and amazing service! When the owner buys you a beer to use their bathroom when the place isn't even open yet.. you can't bypass this place. They go above and beyond!

We booked this place for a company happy hour event, it was such a wonderful experience. The people here were super nice and sweet, and the booking process was wonderfully smooth. For around 30 people, everyone was able to receive around 4 to 5 cups of wine, as well as a wonderfully laid out charcuterie board. Each person was around $40. The environment was also wonderful, we booked the outdoor patio and everyone has such a wonderful time here!

This is a nice, cozy wine bar with a welcoming ambiance. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot whether you're looking for a relaxed indoor vibe or fresh air while you sip. I ordered a wine flight, which included three tastings, and each selection was well-curated and enjoyable. The servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the wines in detail and answer any questions we had.

Why go to wine country when wine country comes to San Francisco and it's a Vineyard by the park. South Park has been a hidden gem for decades in San Francisco and that's where you find Jax Vineyards over a block away in South Beach ( the SF neighborhood, not Miami). I had a chance to attend SF Tech week at Jax Vineyards. This was a good pit stop for the evening to grab some good local wine . My favorite type of bar for the open wine bar with a tasting room. The weather in San Francisco turned cooler and this was the spot for outdoor drinking . I first was offered the Pinot Noir Rosé which had a good smooth taste. Then there was the Chardonnay which was a good early evening booster. Then I had to get my Pinot Noir which was tasty and complemented the cheese board with prosciutto and some savory crackers. Throughout the event the wine kept on pouring and colors of wines kept on changing and mixing . Jax Vineyard gets its wine locally from Calistoga ( the city not the former mineral water company). After multiple pourings I had a chance to learn about how Artificial Intelligence may mitigates threats for the preparation of the USA elections coming in a few weeks( during and after the fact). Control Risks is helping in the Security risk global environment. Shout out to Control Risks for this fun and informative event at Jax Vineyards. I had a relaxing time and felt transported to a wine garden in a great outdoor and indoor atmosphere with good people from all around the world in San Francisco, one sip at a time. Discover Jax Vineyard in San Francisco and do a wine tasting that's up to par outdoors and inside at the bar Try their Cabernet Sauvignon , Chardonnay, and their Pinot Noir

This is a fantastic wine tasting destination with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. I stopped in for a glass of wine and absolutely loved the place and their selection. I highly recommend visiting and trying their Pinot Noir. I can't remember the exact name, but it starts with the letter 'C'.

Aside from my dog being named JAX, I knew I would like this place after a drive by. Viewable from the street, the ambiance of this tucked away and quiet little winery is felt as you walk in under Edison lights paired with fresh greenery and mellow music. The staff is young and friendly, I've even brought my daughter in here and they gave her some of their metal wine bottle stamps to play with and take home! This place is a no-brainer if you are looking to wind down on a Friday after work with wine. My fiancé rarely drinks Whites and this is the only place he will purchase bottles of Chardonnay (you could call him a wine enthusiast to say the least). Keep in mind the hours of operation are limited and only open from 4-8pm Wednesday-Saturday.

If I could be honest everything was perfect but the cheese board could use some work. Maybe olive bread instead of crackers and throw me some blue or Brie

A super cute tasting room in San Francisco with friendly folks who work there. I'm especially partial to their red blend and Cabernet. A great place to stop by and relax, enjoy, and treat yourself to a glass (or bottle) of wine. They're currently doing a special where you can purchase bottles of wine to go at 25-50% off!

It's a sophisticated, intimate pocket of wine country tucked away in the lobby of one of the city's most historic hotels. Mr. Chiang was a wonderful and most gracious host. He shared the story of the "judgement of Paris", which is what had me drawn to the tasting room. As a somm, I am fully aware of the story, but I don't recall ever having the wine before. And as a big fan of Bourgogne, I took advantage of the opportunity to try the famous chardonnay. Simply put, it's reminiscent of a Grand Crus Bourgogne... something from Montrachet but with a little more sunshine. No wonder the judges picked them! And the rest of their wines were no less impressive. When you swirl a glass of their Cabernet, you can taste that distinct Calistoga "dust" and the structure that comes from their specific hillside vineyards. I've always considered graphite and cassis the hallmark of a good cab, and both are present in their 2013 cab. Still youthful, vibrant, and very balanced with the perfect tanning. The Riesling deserves a shout out because it's beautiful. If you are a fan of GG Mosel Riesling, then this wine will give you a run for your money. Lastly, their 2023 Zinfandel is brilliant and youthful, but can definitely use another 5-8 years to add more layers and complexity. But if you like fresh red fruits with a hint of darker berries mixed with the same volcanic dust notes as the Cab, this would be a great choice! It's a testament to their winemaking that the sense of place travels so well in the bottle. And when the opportunity arises, I would like to be able to visit the chateau and breathe in the terroir...

I met here with an acquaintance to discuss something important over drinks & we had a special time. The nature of our discussion was certainly influenced in a relaxed manner by the mild volume music playing, soft lighting, and high ceilings. The interior was beautiful, very custom lighting covers & wooden racks. Somewhat large selection of wines/sake but it wasn't overwhelming due to the simplified menu that they provided. Service was top tier, a server stopped by about three times to collect empty containers, refill water, and check-in about how the drinks were. With a friendly expression on their face each time. The lucky dog sake juice box and beer combo was SUUUUCH a good move! I've been a fan of the lucky dog/cat/chicken brand, for their fun packaging of beers. However, I did not know that they craft sake wine boxes too. That is out of this world! And I believe that, to use a baseball metaphor, they "hit the ball out of the park!" On this one. The beer wasn't half bad either. Would I recommend going to Millay? Hell yeah dude!!!

The brewery and tasting room is located in an industrial part of the city. Upon arriving you walk right into the brewery and head to the tasting area in the back where tables are set up right next to the actual brewery. Flights are $15 each and we worked our way through all of them. They offer quite a range and our favorite was the spicy flight. Each flight came with a detailed explanation of what we were tasting... covering the brewing process, alcohol content, and food pairings for each sake... and there was plenty of room for questions. That kind of walkthrough makes a real difference, especially if you're newer to sake. You leave actually knowing something. A few things: there's a small bites menu, but you can bring your own snacks as long as you take your trash with you when you leave. Dogs are not allowed. There's plenty of free street parking. Tastings are only on Saturdays and first come first serve. I also can't rave enough about the owners who have a way of giving each group their full attention even when the room is full. Pricing is fair for what you're getting. The sake is genuinely good, and joining the club was an easy decision... members receive perks such as free flights and a discount when purchasing product. I don't think the tours run daily, as there wasn't much going on when we went, but still fun to do a tasting. You don't find a local sake distillery in the states very often! They also offer a small menu of snacks to go with the tasting, but I found the pricing pretty expensive ($18 for half a tiny round of Mt. Tam cheese and a handful of crackers). We did the Sequoia and Seasonal flights. Really liked the nigori and kimoto (aged 5yrs) -- all the sake had nice, crisp, and clean finishes. The umeshu in the seasonal was pretty good, but probably my least favorite of the samples.

I also asked for some recommendations and he pulled a few bottles, all under $40. A super fun shop in Pac Heights. Two things that I wish were different, but perhaps just isn't written in the cards: (1) A lot of the wines are very high up on the shelves, which makes casual perusing very difficult. Asking the staff to climb up and grab random bottles just feels like a big ask. I personally like looking at the importer, ABV, and other details on the label to help me shop and this is only possible for about 50% of the wines that are accessible without a ladder; (2) Unfortunately, they no longer allow guests to purchase a bottle to drink in the shop, which is unfortunate because I love browsing the shelves at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant and finding a bottle to open up in the shop to drink. If you're looking for a great bottle shop to pick up something to drink at home or to give as a gift, this is a great spot. Where else are you going to find old bottles of vintage Cinzano?!
