Arrived for some drinks with coworkers at around 6pm and I immediately fell in love with the masuline dark energy of this spot. Dark sexy interior and a quiet vibe. It was so sleek and chic. There is a limited menu of nibbles so there are a few restaurants around that work with JAX where you can have delivered right to JAX. Definitely came in clutch. Loved the 2 glasses of Cab I've had! I've been following this winery for quite some time, so when I knew I'd be in town for work, I had to stop by their tasting room. What a great spot- the atmosphere is lively, there's often live music, and it's full of locals. A truly piece of the wine country right there in the SF bay You can choose from different wine flights or simply grab a bottle to share, which makes it perfect for groups. I went for the Jax Reserve Flight, which included: - Dutton Ranch Chardonnay (the wine that first made me fall in love with this brand!) - Calesa Pinot Noir (not really my cup of tea) - Cabernet Franc (absolutely loved this one- I even took a bottle home!) - and two Cabernet Sauvignons that rounded out the flight beautifully. Made a reservation for last Saturday afternoon at 4pm. We got lucky as the first ones in and seated next to the fireplace! Pretty full from a late lunch, we started out with 2 flights. Neither of us loved the last 2 drinks and ordered a glass of the first one - guess we like our drinks light! We thought it might get more crowded as time went on but it was pretty quiet between 4-6:30pm. There were 5 parties including us throughout the whole time we were there. Good service throughout, affordable pricing. Maybe there wasn't a crowd because of the cold, and since we didn't stay past dinner time. Blankets might be a nice touch. South Park has been a hidden gem for decades in San Francisco and that's where you find Jax Vineyards over a block away in South Beach ( the SF neighborhood, not Miami). I had a chance to attend SF Tech week at Jax Vineyards. This was a good pit stop for the evening to grab some good local wine . My favorite type of bar for the open wine bar with a tasting room. The weather in San Francisco turned cooler and this was the spot for outdoor drinking . I first was offered the Pinot Noir Rosé which had a good smooth taste. Then there was the Chardonnay which was a good early evening booster. Then I had to get my Pinot Noir which was tasty and complemented the cheese board with prosciutto and some savory crackers. Throughout the event the wine kept on pouring and colors of wines kept on changing and mixing . Jax Vineyard gets its wine locally from Calistoga ( the city not the former mineral water company). After multiple pourings I had a chance to learn about how Artificial Intelligence may mitigates threats for the preparation of the USA elections coming in a few weeks( during and after the fact). Aside from my dog being named JAX, I knew I would like this place after a drive by. Viewable from the street, the ambiance of this tucked away and quiet little winery is felt as you walk in under Edison lights paired with fresh greenery and mellow music. The staff is young and friendly, I've even brought my daughter in here and they gave her some of their metal wine bottle stamps to play with and take home! This place is a no-brainer if you are looking to wind down on a Friday after work with wine. My fiancé rarely drinks Whites and this is the only place he will purchase bottles of Chardonnay (you could call him a wine enthusiast to say the least). Great vineyard vibes in SOMA! This place is so lovely. There's a massive green wall that sets the vibe. The outdoor patio seating works great even during the colder days because of the fire pits and heaters. It's highly recommended that you make a reservation if you have a party of 15 people or more (cost/person tasting). Otherwise, you can walk in and get a spot if you're lucky! It can get crowded after 6pm, but it's incredibly lively. Grab bottles of wine with your friends or coworkers when you're here! Their red wines are splendid. Went here recently for a team offsite and it was awesome. We were seated on the patio around this cozy fire pit and the setting was beautiful. Service was also top notch. I tasted a couple of different red wines: the Pinot noir, the blend and the Cabernet Sauvignon. All of them were good but none of them were wow. I did really like their cheese and charcuterie dish. We had plenty to eat for a pretty big group and the quality was great as well. In short, if you want wine and coziness (and who doesn't really) this is a great spot. This is a great date night or girls night out spot! It's VERY small, so get here early if you especially have a big crowd. The atmosphere here is super cute and right between two buildings so it could be easily missed! I love the decoration here with the cork under the glass tables and living walls. I came here last week with a couple of my girlfriends wanting to catch up and we each got our own glass. From 4-8PM Wed-Friday they have happy hour which is $1 off all glasses. On Giants home game days, they make sangria in which I was particularly fond of! And with happy hour combined; a glass was about $6! Totally worth it :) They have other whites and reds BTG and bottles to share. As for snacks/food they do offer meat and cheese platters! When I think about Napa, Jax isn't the first vineyard that comes to mind but I can tell you that the Tasting Room downtown is a fantastic way to establish the brand. Location is fantastic - just a few minutes from Oracle Park and down the block from and so many businesses HQ'd nearby (think Airbnb, Pinterest and many more). Seems like there's a good blend of locals and visitors - not uncommon to see folks with suitcases who want to grab a drink before heading over to the airport or train station. Thursday happy hour in Feb had a great ambiance. There's a blend of couches, barrels with stools and large tables which contributes to the social feel, integrating all groups. I can imagine that it may become too chaotic before Giants home games. There is no table service at Jax but it works. The group of girls that was working on the afternoon we visited was so warm and accommodating...Jax's strength, in my opinion. There isn't much of a food selection (which is to be expected of a 'tasting room') - charcuterie boards are standard fare for this environment and they seem to turn a fair number of these. They're just ok...lots of the selections, like the prosciutto, are store bought but overall it's a good way to get some nutrients when sampling the wines...which is why we're here, after all ...and the wines did not disappoint. We enjoyed a few bottles of the rosè (pictured) which was very good. Would love to return. read more

The last Saturday my husband and I went to Jax for the first time for drinking wine. So I booked a table in advance. The patio outside is very cool. I liked also the variety of menu because you can choose different type of tasting, depend on what you're interested in. For example, my husband took a prefixed flight taste (3 different red wines), I choose two wines from the list and I apreciated that you can choose if you want to have a taste, or a glass, or a bottle of that wine. It is mandatory taking food that comes from the restaurant in front of. I think this rule depend on the possibility for Jax for remaining open to the public. So, you have to scan the qrcode and you can choose different plates (I think it's an indian restaurant). We took a kind of naan filled with goat cheese and other things that I can't remember. The taste is fine, but, to be honest, it was really overpriced (15$). In my opinion, it would be good to receive a food discount from that restaurant if you're a Jax costumer. read more
