This aggressive legal tactic attempts to strip consumers of their right to due process in court, and it has been explicitly illegal in Maryland consumer contracts since 2020. Furthermore, their opening paragraph states they "in no event function... as an interstate or intrastate common carrier." This is a massive red flag, as it appears to be a deliberate loophole to dodge the state's mandatory cargo insurance and liability protections that legitimate movers are required to carry. Upon requesting that Doyle strike these clauses from their contract, they refused to do so, because they "do over 1,000 moves a year and send the same contract to every customer we service." Unfortunately, that contract contains illegal and predatory language.

Day of move showed up early, thought great, gonna be quick, they had to make 2 trips, broke a dresser, scratched 90% of our things, ripped our brand new couches, brand new safe looks like it was drug down 95, then had the audacity to ask for more money, said they didn't make enough to pay the guys and put gas in the truck, texted and called me several times for more $$$$. He was able to quote and schedule the move quickly. Before they showed up we received a phone call 15 min prior to arriving. When they arrived they walked the path, making sure they knew their surroundings. It took 4 people at the store to load the treadmill, but only took 2 movers from Venable to handle the treadmill. I contacted three different companies through Yelp, but ultimately chose JFP Express because they were the only ones who provided an all-inclusive price with no hidden fees--unlike the other companies. I find it frustrating when businesses try to extract as much as they can from customers through various pretexts and dishonest practices. JFP Express, however, was honest and transparent from the start. Jason was very courteous and communicative, arranging everything seamlessly.
