It was Bookstore Movers' excellent customer service that earns them 5 stars. The 3 movers showed up early and worked very quickly and efficiently. In that haste, some items were damaged and I offered that feedback in the follow-up survey. I quickly received a call from the company offering to discount my move and send Walter Davies, a furniture repair person, out to make furniture repairs. That concern for customers and making things right earns Bookstore Movers 5-star service. Walter Davies was excellent and thorough in repairing my furniture. Patrick and his crew, Renaldo, Nitua, Gerand and Kevin, exceeded the already high expectations I had based upon the reviews. I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. The price was also incredibly fair, worth every penny for their first-rate and professional work and incredibly pleasant dispositions, just a really great group of guys!

I completed a Moving Quote Request on a Saturday, and they called me on Monday with some questions. Andrew was very friendly and professional. My move included moving furniture from White Marsh to Mount Washington, with a stop in Timonium to drop off and pick up more items. A three stop move with lots of stairs at each location was quoted at $750. This was reasonable since I had anticipated spending about $1,000. Their window for a Friday move date was between 10-12. They called when they were about 20 minutes away and met me promptly at 10 AM. Four guys in a huge truck arrived and got right to work. Within half an hour we were on our way to the second stop to drop off a bed and retrieve the rest of the furniture. Off we went to the third and final stop to unload everything. I was nervous about large items fitting up a narrow stairwell, but the guys assured me that if I had measured right, they would have it all fitting in the apartment in no time. That they did. When everything was unloaded, the driver went over the listed items and made sure everything on the list had been moved and put in the apartment. The price quoted was the price I paid, and they were done in exactly two hours. I tipped each guy in cash and felt a huge sense of relief when they drove away - knowing moving day was successful and complete. Great customer service and fast and efficient movers.

They kept me informed throughout the process and were extremely trustworthy and personable, especially when I had to run out of the house to handle something leaving them alone and when I ended up having more items than originally planned for the move. I am extremely happy with the results and will definitely be using and recommending them to friends and family in the future. Thank you Carlos and Jonathan for your help! Overall, my move was a little over $800 (took about 5 hours with 2 movers for a local move from a 3-story townhome to a 2-story condo ) and I gave a generous tip considering the amount of work they did. I'm currently experiencing a frustrating situation with this company that I feel compelled to…read moreshare. I used their services 18 months ago and paid in full at the time what was told I owed. However, I've been receiving persistent emails claiming that I still owe money. Despite my efforts to resolve this, including multiple conversations with representatives who assured me they would fix the issue, no one has followed up or tried to resolve the issue. I invested a significant amount in my move well over $3k and now I'm being told I still have an outstanding balance. To add to my frustration, they are threatening to send my account to collections. It's shocking to think that after paying in full, I'm facing this situation. I have been speaking with Kim and Jonathan in the Columbia MD and Paul in the Iowa office. I have requested to speak with someone higher and was told by Paul he was it. I explained to both that initially I received a similar notice a year after my service and I had immediately contacted the Columbia, MD office and was told that there was a computer glitch and that several customers received old bills in error and to ignore it. Now 18 months later I'm receiving the same notice and being threatened that my account is going to be sent to collections. Conveniently everyone who was responsible for my account is no longer with the company. Both Jonathan and Paul state it was an administrative error and that the person who booked me should have charged $406 deposit instead I was charged $100 so I still owe $306. My question is if I had an outstanding deposit that was supposedly added to my initial quote why wasn't it added to the final bill in 2024 when the movers completed my move. The purpose of a deposit is to secure my appointment so how can I pay partial if it's a requirement. The lady at the time of the booking told me $100 was due and that's what I paid. Why would the system allow me to not pay the full deposit if it's required. Make it make sense. At the completion of the job why wasn't that supposed deposit balance not automatically included if it was truly already on the bill. Im questioning the legitimacy of this. I am extremely frustrated with Two Men and a Truck due to their lack of accountability for their employees and the errors that have occurred. Their failure to manage effectively and communicate properly has led to a disappointing experience. I will not be using their services again, nor will I refer them to anyone. The absence of reliable customer service has made this situation even worse, and I can't trust a company that doesn't take responsibility for its mistakes.

As I write…read morethis I am sitting on a couch in the Columbia, MD Two Men and a Truck location being ignored, for the 3rd day in a row, by the managers. I have stored my belongings here for over 2 years after a move to Alaska. I called over a month ago, from Alaska, to confirm that I could access my storage to sort through it and get some things shipped. I bought an airline ticket, rented an AirBnB, and rental car. I called them again 48 hours ahead of my arrival to confirm I would need access to my belongings. It's been an absolute nightmare. They have my belongings and will not give me access, saying they are too busy out on calls to help me, or indeed to even give me any information at all. They knew I was coming, they knew I was flying in only to go through my storage, and they've done nothing but give me excuses. Abdul, one manager, said that he would get my storage ready for me to access on the first day I called from Alaska and told me he would call me the next morning at 8am. He never called. I called the office at 8:30am and was told Abdul was busy- I left a message. He never called me back. When I finally got into contact with him later in the day he said the general manager Russell would call me before end of business. Russell never called me. When I called the office right before closing because I had no information and was about to leave on the flight to DC the lady who answered the phone said that all of the managers had already left for the day. They all knew my situation, and they all just went home. No call, no timeline, no information, just gone. I just now arrived at Dulles Airport, picked up my rental, and drove here because it is too early to check in to my lodging. That was supposed to be the plan: I would use this morning to begin sorting through my things. What kind of business does this to a customer? They have my belongings and are denying me access.

That was a big mistake. This time I went right to Doyle. You get what you pay for, my friends. Ryan, the owner, was very responsive and we made an appointment to do a video walk-through of our condo. We did the walk-through, he asked a lot of questions and then he promptly sent an estimate. We have a lot of things so it took five guys and two trucks. The crew leader contacted me the day before to confirm the details and they showed up promptly the day of. They were incredibly friendly, fun, and energetic the entire time. And very polite. They treated all of our things very well and didn't have a problem moving any of the weird odds and ends we couldn't find a way to pack. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. They put the beds back together quickly and correctly as well as the dining room table. I'd be in hospital if I had to move all my stuff. At the end, the crew leader went over the paperwork, explained all the final charges line-by-line, and took payment. Very professional. We could not be happier. They were a great crew of guys. Ryan has a great company and I couldn't recommend them more.
