This place is actually quiet at 10:00pm, 99% of the guests were delightful, the owners and employees went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, and we even participated in their Christmas in July festivities which included a potluck dinner and decorating contest. We found Gasconade Hills Resort on the RVLife app. We pulled up at about 5:15 PM and called the phone listed. James showed up within a couple of minutes to check us in. We did not have prior reservations so we were able to drive around to pick a spot we preferred. We set up quickly and were able to enjoy the very clean, nice size pool. The bathrooms at the pool were also very clean. Afterwards, we decided to order pizza and although it was very close to closing time, James took our order and delivered to our camping site. WE LOVED IT HERE! Can't say enough good things about it. Wish we had time to do the river floats. We are already planning to come back and stay for a few days.

We have traveled across the country and this was then worst camp we have ever been to, we won't be back, would have been better if we just pulled into a truck stop on I-70. We pulled around to the check in office around 630 and discovered the office was closed. We called the number with no answer and then went to the office to see if there were late check in directions. Unfortunately there were not. There were multiple sites open so we decided to pull through a spot right next to the office so we could pay in the morning. After pulling through a man on a gator pulled up to us yelling and raising his hands aggressively "we are closed!" Alarmed by his reaction we left. I've never encountered a more rude campground interaction. We won't be back ever which is too bad bc the grounds are very nicely kept. Please add a sign "absolutely no late checks ins without a reservation " so u don't have to yell at anyone else.

We decided to venture out to a really cool state park while we are staying near Lebanon. There is…read moreno admission fee and you can park right next to the castle if you are mobility challenge, but we parked at a lower level and hiked up. I'll paved walkway, not a bad walk at all. I added the picture of the story of the Kansas City businessman that decided to purchase 5000 acres and build a castle here back in the early 1900s. You can read the story on that particular photo. The ruins seem well maintained, you are not allowed to walk in them, but you can get pretty close and take photographs. There are also several viewing platforms around the area, which gives you some pretty cool views of lake of the Ozarks. They do have pit toilet Bathrooms available. Beautiful place and can highly recommend for a historical visit as well as spending some time in nature.
