Situated in a strip mall, we were pleasantly surprised by this place! The service is AWESOME and the drink selection is awesome, mostly whiskey/sake/beer/cocktails. Food was decent and has an Asian spin to it, a fun little deviation from your standard bar food. They have TVs to watch your favorite team and it draws a fun neighborhood crowd.

We love this place so much we even got our own "Jay's bar" sweatshirt from there. We enjoy the beer selection, cocktails, and food including their burger and crispy chicken sandwich. Would highly recommend!

Stopped for quick cocktail before dinner. Erich, our bartender, was friendly and quickly got our cocktails started. I had a beer and Lissa G got the Yuzu You. It was a tasty drink, with shishito infused gin. Parking in the lot and on the street.

Awesome local spot. Amazing variety of beer and mixed drinks. Happy Hour is a steal, and the ramen is my go-to. The Gyoza/Sapporo deal is nice. Good deals all around. Bartenders (especially Sara, Constantine, Jackie, and Eric) are really sweet. And the owner, Mayuko, is devoted to making this the best neighborhood bar in Silverlake.

We stopped here on a whim. When I saw that Jay's bar was in a strip mall I fully expected it to be a dive bar, but it definitely was not. I was surprised that it was decent inside and to see craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails on the menu. A variety of their spirits are from independent distilleries, which is cool. They also serve food and offer various Japanese-American fusion dishes, including Ramen. From what I've heard their Ramen is supposed to be very good. I started with the Mr. C's Special (Tequila, triple sec, lime, agave, & jalapeño ($14). It was tasty. My friend wanted The Classic Easton, but they were out of cucumber so she went a martini instead. Our other friend had Bourbon & diet and the J's Special Burger with cheese. ($9). We also shared onion rings & fries. The onion rings were very tasty. There are two tv 's on the wall for your entertainment. The sound was off, but one had sports and the other a movie. The music selection was great and not too loud, so we were able to have a conversation. Bartender Nick was attentive and had a great personality. I wouldn't mind coming back and giving some of the other menu options a try. (Vegetarian & Vegan offerings are available, including a vegetarian burger.) Happy Hour Mon - Fri 4 - 7 p.m.

First one in at 4pm on a rainy Tuesday. I was told the chef isn't here yet and will be late. First impressions of Jay's is that it's smaller than I thought. It's located in a strip mall on the corner of Fountain and Sunset. I started off with a cold Kirin and waited for the chef to arrive. The bartender came up to me after waiting for the kitchen to be started up. I placed an order for the J's Special Burger ($12) with cheese (+$2). It doesn't come with a side so I ordered the fries extra crispy with the wasabi salt. I ordered another Kirin as I felt my order wasn't going to ready anytime soon. The burger is no frills, no veg at all except for the side of pickles. My fries were hot and crispy. The wasabi salt added a nice touch of flavor. So, as someone that likes spicy food, the added flavoring wasn't spicy at all. Upon closer examination of the burger, it looks like it's a preformed patty. Nothing special about it especially since I waited 30 or so minutes to come out of the kitchen. So, I think it's a quarter pound patty with a bun and cheese. It's alright but I think I can get a better burger elsewhere. Jay's is a cool place to hangout and have a drink with friends or a date. But, it's small and intimate. I can hear the convos going on. So, not a place to share intimate secrets, lol. I ordered a Soy Sauce Ramen to finish off my happy hour. The broth was super tasty but I had to add some fresh cracked black pepper. The ramen noodles had a nice chew to it and the fresh scallions were nice. Wow, amazingly satisfying after I finished the bowl especially on a rainy day. Jay's got a bit busier as it approached 6 pm. A perfect time to call it a day.

This little gem located in a little strip mall is worth visiting. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and a couple drinks. My boyfriend loved his ramen (he's very picky when it comes to his ramen), while I had the cheeseburger and steak fries. The burger was tasty, but reminded me of a McDonalds cheeseburger that I could have had for 1/6 of the price across the street. The steak fries were underdone for my liking, so next time I'll opt for the regular fries. The drinks were well made and we watched movies on one of the two big screen TVs on each side of the bar. The best part was the bartender Maya. She was so friendly and personable and gave us amazing service. A solid 4.7 stars.

    No, they are not.

Both Yelp and the establishment's website list their hours on Fridays as opening at noon, but at 12:30 P.M. the place is closed up tighter than a drum. No hours are listed on the padlocked door, although a sign with an open padlock reading, "Come in, we are open," is displayed. (Someone who appears to be an employee just came by, looking confused, tried the padlocked door, then walked off.) I'm not sure what's going on, but I don't like wasting my time or travel funds.

    It's spooky szn

My favorite bar when I lived in the city. Constantine was the best! Served up great drinks and even better service. A cute small bar with the best vibes.

It's clear they've put intentional effort into improving this week, as service was a highlight for us. Our waiter, Sunny, was so polite, quick, and communicative. The N17 burger and fries (both the regular shoe string fries and sweet potato fries) were fantastic! Both were cooked just right, very flavorful, and the fries were nice and crispy. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant in front isn't your typical "sports bar" - it feels more like a cute, sunny brunch restaurant with high-quality screens for sports viewing - but the clientele feels just like any other sports bar would :) It was very lively and fun to watch with others last night. For the World Cup, they've opened up their event space in the back which is not set up like a typical restaurant - but it was great for viewing! The screens are HUGE and very high-quality.

Even other venues that are 5x bigger than this one have better customer service/attentiveness. We also ordered the bottomless mimosas and only got through 2 bottles because it took them 20 minutes to bring out the first one and another 15 to bring out the second one when it was asked for. Absolutely. I think more frequent updates about wait times and capacity would have helped manage expectations. That said, once we got inside, we honestly had a great time. The atmosphere was fun, the energy was amazing, and it was clear that the staff was working incredibly hard. They were dealing with a crowd that seemed much larger than anyone anticipated, and despite being understaffed, everyone we interacted with remained professional and friendly. I also think it's important to be realistic about the situation. There were people lined up far down the street, and just looking at the size of the restaurant, it was obvious that there was no way everyone would be able to get in. It was an extremely popular event, and the demand simply exceeded the venue's capacity. I completely understand why some people left feeling frustrated, especially if they waited and didn't get in. At the same time, I don't think the staff deserved the level of criticism they've been receiving. From what I saw, they were doing their best in a difficult situation and trying to accommodate as many people as possible. For our group, the wait ended up being worth it. We had a great time cheering on Korea, enjoyed the food and drinks, and made some fun memories with friends. No event is perfect, especially with a huge crowd. We had a good time and will be back

When I arrived, there were only about 15-20 people ahead of me in line. As the afternoon progressed, the line stretched down the street, yet no staff member came outside to communicate capacity limits, seating availability, or where the line should reasonably end. Even more concerning, patrons were not admitted until after the match had already started. The situation quickly became chaotic. People who had waited for hours were understandably frustrated, and many were openly voicing their concerns. Groups were admitted one at a time, creating further delays. When it was finally my turn to enter, I was informed that all tables had been taken and that only standing room remained. I was allowed to look inside before deciding whether to stay. What I observed was particularly disappointing: many individuals who had not been ahead of me in line were already seated at tables. I have no idea how they got in but I suspect they were allowed in through some other entrance. After waiting more than two hours based on the information provided by the establishment, this felt unfair and misleading. Most disappointing was having invited friends to join me for the match, only to have the experience ruined by what appeared to be poor planning and inadequate crowd management. The demand for a major World Cup match should not have come as a surprise. If the venue anticipated significant attendance, additional seating, staffing, and clear communication should have been put in place. This was one of the most poorly managed event experiences I have encountered. At a minimum, I believe the ownership should publicly acknowledge what occurred and apologize to the many customers who invested hours of their time only to be left without the accommodations they were promised. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
