    Peach tart. Kind of bland.

Came to try out Dada EP the other night thinking it would be an okay spot. Wasn't expecting too much. Then we are walked into this stark minimalist designed back room for the restaurant and they start to bring out the most amazing food. The cocktails were fantastic. Our server was super friendly and explained everything to us. The bread is Bub and Grandma's so of course perfection. Our salad arrived which was superb and then there was a lull. The timing went awry here and there was just too long of a wait between that salad and our risotto and branzino. When it arrived they were both incredible mind you but there was only 13 people in the restaurant so somebody missed the timing on that one. Not a huge deal. The dessert - we opted for the peach tart - we both felt was not up to the rest of the meal. It was bland. We did see a DJ setting up and we noticed some large speakers that were pointed right at our table so we were glad that we got out before all that started because with the minimalist design and walls. I imagine that room is quite loud and I would not want to eat while that's going on. Would definitely come back.

Coolest spot in Echo Park. They have an amazing sound system with DJs, a bar with a lounge area if you just want to chill and have a drink, and a dining area in the back. Me and my boyfriend went for dinner and food was insane. Hamachi crudo was amazing, plated beautifully, super fresh and fragrant. They have a woodfire grill and their grilled shrimp and hanger steak were so good. Whether you're coming for food, a casual drink, or a night out, would highly recommend. We can't wait to go back!

Stopped by just for a beer and really enjoyed creamy foam of the Suntory malt. The vibes were nice and super laid back. Cool spot tucked in the back of a daytime market--definitely worth a visit!

Came here to grab some drinks. They happened to have a Suntory pop-up. If you know beer, you know Suntory. We ordered a few rounds of that and it hit the spot. Light, crispy and refreshing. There is seating inside and outdoors. The inside is very dark and intimate if you are on a date or looking for fancy cocktails.

Eaten at Dada a few times and each time I've had a delicious meal. Their wedge salad is soo yummy and I really enjoyed the skewers and the fish. The interior has a nice clean and sleek aesthetic. Although, I must warn you that they keep the lighting very very low at dinner. The service is excellent and fast. I also love how Dada turns into a venue in the evening. Great dinner to vibe spot! Go with friends, go on a date, or go by yourself and you'll have a good time.

Such a cute restaurant that is a little hard to find! The music is super loud inside so it is perfect for a girls night out or a date night! The food is also amazing we got the steak and the potatoes which were both solid options! our waiter was incredibly nice and attentive!

Such a great vibe! Love the secret entrance. The food and drinks are delicious. Personal favorites the wedge! Sashimi, skewers and gotta call out the fries. The market is great too, my go to for a few things I only can get there.

Dada was great overall, definitely worth visiting. The space is nice and unique. The service was great. And the food is very reasonably priced compared to similar spots. The wedge salad was great, maybe even better because it was a 90 degree day and a cold salad hit the spot. The corn risotto was excellent, very well cooked and delicious. The camarones (shrimp) had an amazing flavor, but if I'm being nitpicky the meat was a bit soft with an unexpected texture. Same with the octopus special, great flavor but a very soft bite. I know good octopus is supposed to be tender but it felt a bit too tender, which threw us all off a bit. Soft seafood aside, everything else was pretty good. The chicken skewers had amazing flavor, the lamb skewers were grilled beautifully. The beef cheek special, while it looked and smelt amazing, lacked the flavor we were expecting. Maybe it just needed a bit more salt. And the pita/flatbread that came with the beef cheeks was a bit hard and mediocre as well, which didn't help. I'm giving this feedback more for constructive criticism, hoping these details will improve, as I really want this place to succeed. All in all I'd still recommend visiting and would definitely go back to try other items. Dada feels like a great addition to Echo Park that is original, unique and not insanely overhyped like some other spots in the area.

Relaxed, grown up without being dull. Good barkeeps. Dark. And considering its place - in the middle of echo park - not full of wankers.

To end the night before we headed off to dinner, we stopped by The Semi- Tropic bar for drinks. The parking situation was difficult to say the least-- there is no street parking or parking lot. And the neighborhood behind the bar is filled with park cars. We were lucky and parked at a parking lot that was for the surrounding business (so sorry to the pizza/ weed shop!). We arrived at around 6:30 PM so it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by one of the servers and she gave us options to either sit at a lounge table area or hightop tables. We opted for the hightop tables because we knew we weren't staying there for long. The server was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu for drinks. I've been sober for about a year so I only had water, my boyfriend ordered a Naoshima Dream, his cousin ordered a Mango Cart, and his cousin's girlfriend ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The bar was super cute and hipster! I honestly would have loved going to this bar back when I used to drink. It's dimly lit, had a vintage 20's speakeasy feel to it and the music was a vibe. I'd recommend coming here for a little date with your partner or even coming with a group of friends. My boyfriend had been here once before and he said the food was really good and affordable. He had a panini and said for bar food it was a 10/10. We waited maybe like 10 minutes for our drinks to come, we were having such a fun time chatting and enjoying the environment that it didn't feel long at all. My boyfriend, his cousin, and his cousin's girlfriend really enjoyed their drinks. They said the drinks tasted "light" insinuating that there was barely any alcohol in it. Don't let the taste fool you, after finishing half of their drink there were full of smiles, giggles, and had a great buzz going. The prices here were all pretty fair for the cost and quality of the drinks. Would defintely recommend coming here for drinks and dinner for a date night or a night out with friends!

I've been on quiet weekday evenings when you can lounge comfortably and snag a table here and there. On event days, the space comes alive--outdoor areas are full, food trucks or vendor tents are serving up delicious bites, and the energy is just infectious. It's truly a wonderful place to be, no matter the occasion. Yes, it can get crowded, but I've never had an issue. The bartender was white, and my date and I are both Asian, which is the only reason I could think of for why he might have refused to serve us. Very troubling experience all around. Indoor and outdoor seating available, Bar Henry is a cool little for in Echo Park serving up tasty cocktails in a friendly, local feeling environment. We tried a few cocktails when we visited. The Butthole Surfer is their version of a pina colada which, while decent, could have been a little more flavor forward. Feel it is premade in batches as I didn't see it made fresh but was brought getting the back, but still decent. The Lucid Dream had the smokiness from the mezcal posted with the mandarin, but then the rosemary comes in and helps add a little balance to the drink. The Swimsuit Edition was more flavor forward, but the passion fruit didn't necessarily pop in the drink for us. And finally was the Snitches Get Stitches, another mezcal drink with mango and horchats. Interesting was my first thought, then you start getting the nuances of the different interested and it's a respectable cocktail. Overall, good drinks, friendly people, chill atmosphere, and a nice addition to the bar scene in Echo Park
