We had a great experience and great food at N17 The Lane! I see some recent complaints regarding service during the World Cup. It's clear they've put intentional effort into improving this week, as service was a highlight for us. Our waiter, Sunny, was so polite, quick, and communicative. He had a lot of tables to cover, as it was a packed and chaotic room during the Mexico vs. Ecuador game last night. The N17 burger and fries (both the regular shoe string fries and sweet potato fries) were fantastic! Both were cooked just right, very flavorful, and the fries were nice and crispy. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant in front isn't your typical "sports bar" - it feels more like a cute, sunny brunch restaurant with high-quality screens for sports viewing - but the clientele feels just like any other sports bar would :) It was very lively and fun to watch with others last night. For the World Cup, they've opened up their event space in the back which is not set up like a typical restaurant - but it was great for viewing! The screens are HUGE and very high-quality. read more

I don't understand how a "sports bar" decides to host an event for the World Cup yet can't provide decent service and/or a welcoming environment for such an event. Listen, I understand being busy is one thing but blatantly ignoring paying customers that have been sitting and waiting to be served for 20-30 minutes after only ordering two drinks is strange to me. And then to come back and ask if we wanted to remove the items we already ordered without us having to bring it up just lets me know that you remembered all this time but chose not to serve us until someone had to go ask to be served AGAIN. Even other venues that are 5x bigger than this one have better customer service/attentiveness. We also ordered the bottomless mimosas and only got through 2 bottles because it took them 20 minutes to bring out the first one and another 15 to bring out the second one when it was asked for. And on top of that, they act like they're doing YOU a favor by bringing out the food & drinks that YOU paid for. I have never written a negative review before but this experience was awful; just a waste of money &, what should have been, a good time. read more

There are so many restaurants with large screen TVs, and a bar in LA, and we've been to lots of them. This one N17 The Lane was a great surprise! Lots of big TV screens, great service, creative drinks, and wonderful food. Salads, Appetizers, mains and desserts that people were ordering and enjoying around us was distracting us! We shared a salad and a sandwich, which was delicious and plenty. We will certainly go back there!! read more

What a wonderful place to grab a bite and a drink. Super family friendly and delicious food. We grabbed the N17 burger and it was cooked to perfection! The flavor combination of the bacon onion jam and Swiss was perfect and not overpowering. There are TVs to catch whatever game is on and the service has always been wonderful. It can get loud if there's a riveting game on but otherwise it's great. I've also gone before to just grab a glass of wine at the bar and it was lovely. This place was delicious, but the service was not it. We ordered 2 burgers with a side of fries, 2 beers and got my kids pancakes. It was all really good. Like, REALLY GOOD. Unfortunately the service was really off. The server looked bothered the entire time. I picked up menus at the bar and when the server came to our table to take our order, he was annoyed we had the wrong menus. He didn't say anything. He just yanked them out of our hands, walked to the bar and came back with the brunch menus. It was really off-putting and we almost got up and left. It's hard to get toddlers on/off the car so we decided to just stay. The service never got better, but at least the food was really good. I met up with a couple of out-of-town business friends who were staying nearby in Marina Del Rey. Since I'm in the South Bay, I looked for something convenient for everyone. Both of them enjoy good beer and solid food, so N17 felt like a natural choice. I arrived around 5:20 PM on a Wednesday and easily found metered parking right out front (free after 6 PM). When we walked in, there was only one other guest, which made sense for a midweek early evening with no major game on TV. By the time we wrapped up around 7:30 PM, the place had definitely picked up. N17 is on the smaller side but clean and simply decorated, with several large TVs showing sports. It ended up being a great spot to catch up and actually hear each other talk. Our server was friendly and offered thoughtful recommendations rather than just steering us to the most expensive items. My friends ordered a few IPAs, and I suggested the Three Weavers Expatriate--one of my local favorites--while I stuck with a San Pellegrino. The food was solid across the board. We started with the crispy rice and chicken wings, both of which were tasty. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. It was large and satisfying enough that I took half home, and I paired it with a Caesar salad. The salad was good overall, though the croutons felt like standard boxed ones--something like cornbread croutons could really elevate it. My friends had the chicken sandwich and the N17 burger, both of which they enjoyed. Presentation-wise, the small cutting boards felt a bit sparse; folding the sides into the price might help improve that. Overall, N17 is a solid choice for good food, drinks, and a relaxed vibe. I had the fish and chips and they were on point.They also had a really solid tap list. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu next visit. What a happy little discovery! We've just moved to the area and couldn't have asked for a better introduction. Adam took wonderful care of us--friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The food was fantastic across the board, and the service somehow managed to be even better. We also really appreciated how professionally the staff handled a potentially awkward situation. A guest who had previously been feeding her dog asked to sit at the table next to us. We love dogs, but the team immediately and politely stepped in before it became an issue. She was kindly offered an outdoor seating option, but when she declined, the staff handled it calmly and respectfully, ensuring a comfortable dining experience for everyone. We even spent her birthday here rooting for her Seahawks and they got the win! My elderly mother also had to ask several times for ketchup, and although he acknowledged her with a wave and indicated he would return, it took longer than expected. There was also some confusion with one of our orders, and a beer that seemed a bit flat. I want to be fair because the food was good, and I understand that service issues can sometimes be the result of understaffing, lack of training, or management challenges rather than one individual. My intention is not to criticize anyone personally but to provide constructive feedback. I normally don't write reviews, especially negative ones, but I felt this was worth mentioning because the restaurant has a lot of potential. Sports bar kinda experience, but not being as crowded. Just right for me as I could enjoy quieter dinner and didn't need to shout when talking LOL. The place was pretty busy every Friday night so reservation might work best when you're coming in bigger group. Waiting time was relatively lengthy though to get served and having all orders ready. I did appreciate the busy attendant who tried his best to still make us having great experience! I had their Char Siu Banh Mi, which surprisingly tasted beyond my expectations. This is a cute spot. New I think. I came here for lunch and it wasn't busy at all. I met a sales rep here, and we split dishes. I'd honestly say that it's underrated. The restaurant isn't in a desirable spot, but Mar Vista really does have some great secret spots. We ordered the truffle fries, salmon crispy rice and the caprese salad. All were so delightful. The fries were crispy which I really appreciate. The crispy rice was delicious and we ended up ordering a second serving. The burrata salad was fantastic. This restaurant is very nice on the inside and good atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was extremely mediocre, and quite expensive for bar food. Our server was not not focused and attentive, leading to the wrong order coming out. It happens I understand but really should not. Also multiple fees added on the bill. This place was really a mixed bag. Some strong highlights and other downsides. So confused, not sure will come back. Came here to watch some NFL football about 2 weeks ago. It started out really slow in terms of number of other customers, but also equally slow for service. Took a long time to get our drink and food order in, and equally long for things to come out. Our appetizer was a big disappointment - salmon crispy rice. The rice was so crispy that when you took a bit, it shattered into a bunch of dry crumbles and cut into roof of mouth. Big miss on this one! We just ate the salmon. Given how busy/stressed the 1 staff person was, we weren't going to spend our 1 time per hour talking to him trying to explain the issue. Then, people started piling in. We were waiting to put our drink order in for at least 20-30 minutes. The waiter/bartender running the place asked if we'd be open to moving to give up our seats to a bigger party, and offered a free drink. Sureeee, though we had to give up a great view of the game for a much lesser view. Plus it still took forever to get a drink or food order in. I understand trying to get as much business as possible, but if you're making a negative tradeoff on the individual customer's experience for it, you probably won't get people returning. Then came the highlight of the whole experience - my dining partner's bahn mi, and my mussels. Both were excellent, bursting with flavor yet constrained. The sizes of the dishes were good too - not ginormous but plenty for a meal and appropriately priced. Took a long time to get the bill. I talked with a friend about their experience here on a different occasion, and it sounded similar - understaffed and in for slow service, though good stuff when you get it. Solid little spot on Washington tucked away between a few gyms. We got street parking easily on a Friday night for dinner. Service was friendly, ambiance was elevated sports bars-y with lots of TVs to watch the games. We got 2 beers, 1 appetizer to share and the burger and banh mi. What stood out the most was the shoe string fries which were perfectly crunchy and seasoned as well as the soy sauce wings. So good and it came with quite a few pieces as an appetizer with their homemade ranch. The marinade was extremely tasty and not too sweet not too salty. There is one problem with this joint, that it is 15 minute drive from me, otherwise, I'd be there most nights. A while ago I was craving a burger and we found this place listed, so we checked it out. It's a small neighborhood joint kind of place, with some draft beers, a bar with few chairs, a few two and four tops, and a couple of larger booths, so you can go in alone or a large group and find the right type of seat. The menu is kind of simple, with an interesting variety. Burger, chicken sandwiches, salads, pastas, fish, and more. I generally go in and ask for the burger, and something else on the menu so I can get to taste everything, and I have not been disappointed so far. The owner, Adam is an easy going guy, friendly and welcoming. Not the type to require references from people to make them feel at home. Chatting with him, he said that he put the menu together himself from seeing the best of things on cooking shows or other places, and I think he has done a fantastic job. If this place was in my building, or walking distance, I would be having a running tab there. But even the 15 minute drive is well worth the food and relaxing unpretentious yes clean atmosphere. If I could make one suggestion to just make this my #1 "hang out" place, it would be adding a couple of Pizza, and one or two type of soups. I'll mention it to Adam next time. Fine dining quality food in a casual pub environment. I'm not quite sure why it took us so long to visit, but after three visits in the past week, I can say we're happy to be regulars here now. The menu may seem a bit odd at first, as it's a mishmash of Asian, Jamaican, and other influences, but I urge you to try everything! We're a bit snobbish when it comes to banh mis, but I can tell you the banh mis here are the best you'll find on the Westside. The pomodoro pasta is my wife's favorite. We recently tried the mussels (I normally hate mussels--these are out of this world good) and the oxtail (small dish, but so tender and falling off the bone, in a perfect sauce with creamy mashed potatoes). Don't forget to add an order of bread pudding for dessert. We've been eating our way down the entire menu and have not had a single dish disappoint us yet. Their brunch is quite good too--definitely try both. The beer list is also excellent, with amazing IPAs and pilsners. Both the owner and waiter are super friendly and helpful. Genuinely loved this spot! Super cute tiny neighborhood sports bar with a modern vibe to it. Even though this is a small sports bar it seemed that when we visited they were very understaffed. There was only one gentleman seating people, taking the orders, dropping the food and busting tables. Unfortunately that let us to waiting a second to have our order taken receive our drinks and even our utensils. He seemed to be doing the best he could so I appreciated him trying to do it all alone. Honestly the food was very delicious! We were both pleasantly surprised with our meals. The burger and fries were delicious. The salmon my partner got was also very good too! I was truly shocked at our experience here based on the ratings of this restaurant. I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time now. I went tonight for a sports gathering with some gal pals. My friend had spoken with the owner who I believe may have prepared the reservation for us. Anyway, the reason I am rating this place so low is due to how awful our server was as well as how terrible my food tasted. Our waiter was very rude as soon as we arrived. He was clearly upset and having a bad day and taking it out on us. He was upset at one point and even decided to just add a 20% tip to our tab without us knowing until after the fact. He was shady because another guy who served us actually allowed us to input our own tip amount. The shady one literally refused to wait on our table the whole time we were there. We were very kind and I recall my friend telling him she knew the owners (he did not care at all). I'm truly surprised when restaurants are not aware of some of their servers doing such a poor job. That being said, the other waiter was so kind and attentive. I had the banh mi and was hopeful this would redeem the terrible service. I saw that it was one of their popular dishes. I was shocked to find that the pork was all fat. I literally could not even eat it. So, waste of $25. Rather than tackle the 405 we decided to tackle dinner, which was excellent. We were here on a Wednesday night, and it was relatively quiet with about half the dining room full. Service was attentive, kind, and prompt. The dining room is not a large space, but it is bright and adorned with multiple TVs, which proved useful in distracting my child. The crowd the night we were in seemed to be locals and folks who work at the airport. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and would recommend coming: solo, as a casual date, or in a small group. It wasn't packed at all (but it was a Monday night). While I was there it never got more than 70% full. Big screen televisions all around (but not in distracting locations), so everyone can watch the game from their seat. Food: Ordered brussel sprouts , spicy chicken wings, and the jerk chicken sandwich with Parmesan fries. Brussel Sprouts: I was concerned about these because I believed they might be more deep-fried than actual vegetable. The host assured me they were super tasty so I gave it a chance and they did not disappoint. They came with bits of cheese mixed in. Definitely a nice touch. Big bowl portion too! Happy it wasn't those kind of deep fried sprouts that taste like all burnt leafs. (9/10) Spicy chicken wings : these were more like wings with honey glaze. There was absolutely no spice. Though they had a glaze, I appreciated that they weren't super sticky. Overall they were okay, but nothing to write home about. IMO This sandwich didn't even touch the spice scale. I will admit, you could taste that there was a slight jerk seasoning used, but other than that, that was the only thing that made it jerk.
