I'm a glutton for a good brunch and the menu at The Six looked really good. I'm also a sucker for good decor and the evening pics from other Yelp reviewers looked really cute. Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm). read more

I was impressed by the service. We sat inside because it was a little bit quieter and unfortunately a couple was having a heated discussion. The management handled it perfectly by asking us if we wanted to move and then eventually told the couple to pipe down. I appreciated that attention. The food was good. Chicken and waffles, pork shop and Italian pizza we're all delicious, served hot, felt fresh and were very tasty. Good cocktail and spirit options. I like how the restaurant is nestled into the base of the Studio City hills. I wish the back patio was open, though. It looked enchanted and cozy. Really cute outdoor space. Inside was a quiet vibe. Wallpaper peeling off and bathroom is rundown. Delicious food. Mac and Cheese Fritters were dangerously good. My butternut squash flatbread was one note: garlic. We ordered a "bread for the table". We were told we'd be charged and we agreed. For $8 we got flatbread slices with salt and butter. Super yummy. The salt made all the difference. My sister loved her salmon. The fried pickles weren't anything special. Friends loved the Brussels and their drinks. Manager was great. Server was good. He did a good job but I had trouble hearing him. Parking is a bit difficult to back out of because you nose into a curb and there isn't much room to maneuver if someone is too close to you. Attended a dinner event in the private room and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food and attentive service. The fried mac and cheese - a must order. Flat breads were fresh out of the oven. Tried the short rib lasagna, absolute decadent goodness served in a skillet. My colleagues ordered the six burger, salmon and chicken pot pie. All looked amazing. Had a business luncheon at this establishment, and I have to say it was wonderful. The food came out in a very timely manner. The service was absolutely outstanding every single person that worked at the restaurant was so kind so respectful and on their A game for sure. The owner of this establishment was also wonderful. He wasn't just standing around and watching his employees. He was coming around the restaurant talking to everyone making sure that their experience was going well. The food was delicious. It had so much flavor. Textures and flavors all paired well together . It was wonderful. The dessert was also very good very rich. I came here for the first time with my friend last week for my birthday and overall it was a really nice experience. The space is beautiful and has a great vibe, definitely a chill spot to hang out. We weren't super hungry so we just got tacos and the cauliflower, and both were really good. The drinks were solid too, nothing crazy but definitely enjoyable. Service was great and everything came out pretty quick. I wouldn't say anything we had was mind blowing, but it's definitely still a place worth going to. My friend and I celebrated our joint birthday here, and it was a lovely time! This place is GREAT for group gatherings, and it was so easy to book a reservation too. We had a group of 8, and despite there being so many of us, the food came out very promptly. We ordered a variety of appetizers, such as the Brisket Al Pastor tacos, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Buffalo Style Cauliflower. I ordered the- WILD MUSHROOM TRUFFLE PIZZA: To die for. If you like white sauce pizzas, this is for you. The flavors were the perfect blend of umami, creamy, and earthy. The crust was thin. Came out hot and fresh. And was not too rich where it felt heavy! GRILLED SALMON SALAD: Also a great option!! The dressing and mix ins were very refreshing, and the salmon was cooked well! The star of the show however, was our server. He brought out two absolutely DELICIOUS banana cream pie slices out for my friend and I, with two streamer candles. The group started singing happy birthday, but fell away immediately because we were STUNNED by our server's voice! He was clearly a trained singer, because he ATE! We got personally serenaded by this man who has the voice of an angel!!!! The birthday banana cream pie was SO good, and had an oreo crust!! Parking is kind of abysmal - we were able to find metered street parking out in front, but I do wish they had a designated lot? Unless I completely missed it lol. Came here for a department lunch with a party of 13 people, we were seated and helped right away because they literally just opened and we had made reservations just in case. There was plenty of seating inside and out and you can tell the place was picturesque because there was a lot of floral decorations and a photo wall. The food itself was okay, highly recommend the appetizers. We pretty much tried them all, love the cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Next up were the pizzas, super yummy and the only thing that came out hot. Again, I think because we were a large party they probably waited for everyone's food to be ready. Warm convivial spot with indoor booths and a tented garden room in back. The food is excellent, the Crispy Brussel Sprouts starter being a standout and almost a meal on their own. The Mac N Cheese Fritters are crispy, cheesy and delicious. I've had both the Pear Royale pizza with roasted brown butter pear and prosciutto (tasty but could have used more of both), burrata, and balsamic. I recommend the bone-in pork chop with incredible cider-braised cabbage, apple chutney and au jus. All three desserts are wonderful, too (yes, I've had them all :) Service is warm, friendly and efficient. I came here for dinner the other night with my family. It was the first time we had been here even though we had previously lived in the Studio City area for many years. It's right across the street from Carney's hot dog stand and where the old Jerry's Deli used to be off Ventura Blvd. The place was decorated nicely and it was quite clean. They have a popular brunch scene on the weekends and you can totally tell that it would be booming with that sort of business. I normally never order steaks, but the one I got was the New York strip. It was very big and very delicious. It was perfectly cooked and really tender. Everyone else got a wide range of appetizers and other dinner entrées, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I ordered. I can't remember our server's name, but she was OK. She disappeared for periods of time throughout our stay. Towards the end of the night, we actually got more interaction from one of the waiters named Luis and the bartender named Vlad. They were very sweet and hospitable. Even though they were closing for the night and politely kicking us out, we were having such a good time. They were good sports about it. They helped us take some photos in front of a beautiful floral arrangement that's meant for posting on social media, I'm assuming. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back to see what options they have for breakfast and lunch. read more

Did mostly small plates, Brussel sprouts, bone marrow, Al pastor tacos, short rib with pineapple pizza. Everything was good and even my Old Fashion, I hate Hawaiian pizza, just not a fan of pineapple, this pizza was good and I will order again, the pineapple went well with the meat, crust was delicious. Brussel sprouts, good, the marinade is good. Tacos flavorful and I could eat 6 of them, bone marrow looked good, just not a fan of it yet. Lots of good items on the menu and they open early too. She was delightful and managed the demands of our party like a pro. A round of drinks got the festivities started. My first was the Basil Fizz and later I had the Skinny Studio Heat. Both cocktails were tasty and packed a punch. I also tried the Tijuana Lover Martini, which was also quite good and beautifully presented. We got the Heirloom Tomato Flatbread to share. A perfectly crispy, chew crust topped with fresh Heirloom tomatoes, avocado, burrata, & basil with a drizzle of Balsamic Gastrique. The dishes that were ordered were: Bone in Pork Chop, Organic Garden Salad, Truffle Risotto with shrimp and one with chicken, Salmon Salad, Brisket Al Pastor Tacos, and Drunken Burger with garlic fries. What a fun, delicious, and wonderful restaurant! A large group of us came here for a birthday dinner, and we had the best time. They allowed us to bring in our own candles and decorations for the table because the party had a theme, as every good party does! Collin was our waiter for the night, and he was absolutely incredible. Friendly, fun, patient. He truly made our experience that much better. We ordered lots of drinks and food to share, and everything came out perfectly and on time. Service was fast and food was hot and fresh! The mushroom pizza was a favorite, along with the caesar salad. We also brought our own birthday cake and they were so nice to store it, cut it, and serve it for us. We attended a private luncheon at The Six Social House and it was truly amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and shown the way to the banquet room. Tastefully decorated and welcoming, I am considering having a party here myself. It's beautiful! The waiters were friendly, very attentive and refilling our drinks and the appetizers without having to wait. We cannot believe that we have never been here before, but we will definitely be back again soon! We highly recommend a stop here for the delicious food and beautiful ambiance. I've quickly become obsessed with this restaurant! I've only come to the six social house in the evening: once on a weekday and the other on a Saturday night. Both were pleasant experiences! Atmosphere is always on point, you can either dine inside or outside. We've only stayed inside because it has been a bit cold. In the back they have heaters, which have come in clutch since it's been on the colder side. Their menu isn't super large but there is definitely something for everyone! Their salads are tok tummy to pass up, so that's what I've ordered both times, and then added salmon to it. I ordered the kale Cesar and it's so fresh! We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower as our appetizer the second visit, and it was so yummy! Our waiter, Luis was amazing with his customer service and very friendly. We ended up ordering some fun shooters and had one cocktail off of the menu. The sloppy joe was good too but probably my least favorite due to the large cut onions in it. The flatbread was so light and fluffy and perfectly cooked with no undercarriage. We ordered the banana cream pie and a bread pudding. Both were fantastic but I liked the banana cream pie a little more. Very light and not overly sweet. This was my second visit to this restaurant. First time was before COVID time. Since then they have added the outside dining area. I noticed some changes to the menu too. It was nice to be back after six years. They also take reservations on Yelp. They have Pear Pizza which was the first time I heard about. I ordered it and did not disappoint at all. It was not too sweet or tasted weird at all. I really like it and I will order again for sure. Flatbread was good too. We went there for birthday celebration. Our server was super friendly and when she found out about the reason. She brought it complimentary Banana Cream Pie which was really nice. She was very attending and friendly. Reserved a table for brunch on Saturday to celebrate my friend's birthday. We initially sat inside but asked to be seated outside due to the blasting AC. I ordered Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Italian Pizza, and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The smoked salmon dish was okay. It was a very small portion, but the eggs were cooked perfectly. The salmon was fresh, but the cut was inconsistent. The Italian Pizza was also okay. They messed up by not adding sausages, but after notifying them, it took them less than a minute for the change. The crust was thick and chewy. The pepperoni was not evenly distributed - half of the pizza had only four slices, while the other half had plenty. The onions were also only in the middle. The newly added sausages helped a bit, but it was also not evenly distributed. The Brussels sprouts were mushy rather than crispy. They were a bit too sour due to the generous amount of vinaigrette. I was more disappointed by the amount of oil left at the bottom of the plate though. Overall, a little more effort into our food would've been appreciated. Other than that, the server was super nice. I really loved how he acknowledged my friend's birthday by singing her a happy birthday song and giving her a complimentary dessert topped with a cake sparkler. read more

Come here quite often as you always know that you will get a good meal! This week i dined here for Dine LA - which was great as i got to enjoy all my favorites at a great price! We started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, seriously they are incredible and the mac and cheese bites, i am a snob when it comes to anything mac and cheese but the six does a great job of making the bite have the perfect crisp factor. For the main course we both had the salmon salad, this one is always my go to dish - but i'lll say on a rare day i've tried their burgers and pizza all great! For dessert we had a Banana Cream Pie - typically don't get dessert so was delighted to try something new. This was fantastic! Great service, we were here for lunch and on a time limit so the server was very accommodating.
