Came across a Groupon deal recently for balayage with gloss repair treatment, haircut, blow dry & style from this business. Winded up purchasing it. Scheduled an appointment for August 6th @ 4PM but was running behind due to work since I was asked to stay an extra hour at the hospital. I immediately called Jazette a few times but no answer so I left a voicemail & texted her that I was running late & if I could come see her @ 4:30PM instead of 4PM. She said the latest is 4:15-4:20PM which would be fine but anything after, I'd have to reschedule. Got there around 4:20PM & understood I was about 20 minutes late so I asked if I should just reschedule or if she's able to still do my hair. She asked me what was it that I needed so she had me sit down & explain to her in detail what I was looking to get done. I literally was in there for an hour, explaining to her in a very detailed way of the color, cut & style I wanted. I even showed her a couple of pictures as an example so she can have a better idea of what it is that I want. I showed her what kind of color I wanted, the hairstyle I wanted & also mentioned to her that I do not want a drastic haircut; just to trim the split ends or damaged ends of my hair. She gave me her opinion on certain things & asked me to send the pictures I showed her so I did. She texts me the following day saying that her assistance is unable to do the hairstyle I want (which is a curly hairstyle & wouldn't be that hard given the fact that my natural hair is curly + wavy) but these curls were just more defined & wouldn't be hard at all to achieve since I have naturally curly & wavy hair texture. What I don't understand is that her assistant was in the hair salon when I walked in. She was the first one to greet me. When I spoke to Jazette, she could've showed the picture to her assistant & been upfront to me while I was there that she can't do it rather than letting me know an entire day later. Also, it's strange that someone who runs her own hair salon is unable to style hair but only does coloring & extensions. I never heard of that at any hair salon. Especially, not if it's the person's own hair salon. I winded up texting Jazette back & asked if her assistant is able to do any type of curly hairstyles & if not, then I'm fine with sticking to a regular blowout style. Next thing you know, Jazette sends me an email telling me that she cancelled my appointment that I had rescheduled with her. I never asked or requested a cancellation but she went ahead & cancelled my appointment for no reason. I believe the actual reason for her cancelling my appointment is because she realized how long & thick my hair was & knew she wouldn't be able to accomplish anything I wanted so winded up just cancelling my appointment without explaining herself. Why else would a hairstylist / hairdresser cancel a client's appointment when it was never asked or requested by the client? Especially, when the client was really nice & polite with them. In all honesty, I already knew just by walking in there that it was most likely run by inexperienced people who don't know what they're doing. There's only 2 people who was working there when I walked in (Jazette & her assistant) & I had a feeling they were not experienced. The place itself looks like a butcher shop. It's extremely small & tiny; doesn't stand out at all. They don't even have any rollers, twisties or other professional tools to do hair. Go figure. She just got scared & cancelled my appointment without my permission because they're both just really inexperienced people. Highly unprofessional too. read more

UNEVEN cut, Unprofessional hairdresser! There's a reason there are only 5 reviews. I don't leave bad reviews but have never had an experience like this before. She cuts your hair dry and by dry I don't mean washed and dry. I mean just how you walked in the door. She claims it's how she always does it but then later says a wet cut is $80 more. I was still polite as I showed her the unevenness and she said that's how my hair was and her cut was "perfect". I asked her if we could wet it and then check as it felt uneven and she said "No we will finish like this". Repeatedly stayed it was perfect and then said she couldn't finish the service cause she was worried I wouldn't be happy and would leave a bad review. Are you kidding me!! I told her it's better not to leave it halfway. She said she'll take her chances cause she knows her cut is perfect and I can go somewhere else and they'll tell me the same. So I left... traumatized by how she tried to make it seem like I had no idea what I was talking about. I went to another salon on the block and they were mortified when they saw the cut! Thankful for their kindness and fixing my hair, it but it cost me another 2 inches. And apparently I'm not the first one that's ended up there due to someone from this place having a very bad cut! No matter what type of deal you get, Groupon, etc. this is not worth it unless you want a simple trim. read more

She truly is an expert with hair and advised me what I could do with my hair. She was so gentle and thorough and it is clear how much pride she takes in her work. She took her time to make sure I was 100% satisfied. Despite being there for almost 2 hours due to her precision, the time flew by as we chatted.
