Not worth it. $208 for an annual exam. The exam was good but not worth the money. I do have eye insurance, and they were not able to find my United Health Care plan number in their system. They charged me FULL retail for my exam. I had to submit my charges to the insurance company, that only reimbursed me for the "Reasonable & Customary", $150. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of frames and lenses from Jazzy Eyes over the past 45 years. The least they could have done was charge me the $150 that my insurance covered. They have zero flexibility for their good long time customers. It is not a matter of the money, this will not break me. It was the idea that if they do not take your insurance they charge you a high retail price. For a routine annual visit. So sad. In the past, Jazzy Eyes used to have the largest selection of really funky glass. Their selection has been reduced and many of their brands that they used to carry, they do not have anymore. $50 dollars cost them my business. I am sorry to go, it is just a matter of principle. In closing, there is more competition today for eye exams and glasses. Before choosing Jazzy Eyes check around for your best options. Plus, they let me know that my health insurance (Cigna) would cover the exam - I didn't realize it would being I don't have vision. Went in for new glasses, and was very impressed with their customer service. I'd been having issues with the last few sets of lenses in my old frames, my old eye doctors office told me there was nothing wrong. I stopped into Jazzy Eyes on a whim, and they knew exactly what the issue was. They ordered a new set of lenses, and those had the same issue. Come to find out, the quality of that particular coating had gone down since the manufacturer was bought out. ANYWAY..... Donna was able to find a solution in a timely manner. DO NOT SHOP HERE I came in as a friend referred me to Jazzy eyes. My current frames were broken and I was looking for new glasses when they said they had frames that fit my lenses. I decided to get a new frame as well as a new pair of glasses as my work was paying for replacements. I didn't find what I wanted but did purchase one of the 5 frames the lady (Donna) said would fit my current lenses. Not even 24 hours later the lense popped out of the left eye. I decided these do not fit as they thought so will take frames back the next day. Well, they would not take them back and then lied and said "they told me they were trying to make them work." I would not spend 275 dollars on "try" and make work frames when my current glued ones were Making it work. Since I was in the market for a new pair of glasses but thought it would be nice to keep these lenses (as I really like the way the manufacture made these progressive lenses ) that I had made when I bought frames from my eye doctor in the bahamas 5 years ago without a problem as all, even though the lady said RayBans were not very good. In Jazzy Eyes defense it does says on the reciept, that I didn't look at , (she folded it and handed it to me after I electronically signed my cc. ) My bad but it does say no refunds. Morally though I think they should of taken them back. Instead they called the police as a witness!! To say they told me these may not work! And that I came in couldn't see and needed glasses. I showed the police that I had glasses and showed her my glued intact frames. The police agreed they should take them back but that it does say no refunds and to find some other place to shop. I said that I would And that I was sorry they had wasted her time on such a silly matter. I work on a boat in the bahamas and on a private plane in California. I need to depend on my glasses. These I will not be able to . Instead I spent 275 dollars to make me rush and find new glasses that I can depend on. instead of doing what I was doing and just keeping my glued frames that have worked since July. Jazzy Eyes thinks great customer service is come in everyday if you have to get them fixed. They took my money and do not care. I will not buy anything from them again. Oh and while waiting for them to put the lenses in and they were waiting for the police... I helped a nice lady pick out sunglasses! As she was just buying frames to have her Dr put lenses in. I did warn her though make sure you like them as they will not work with you. DO NOT BUY FROM JAZZY EYES. Because of the fantastic frame selection and proximity to my house, I've been coming to Kimmelman for years. This isn't because he's an outstanding doctor. This isn't because I feel like I can see things more clearly (ha!) after each visit. This is purely because they have an outstanding selection of frames on offer. And yes, if you don't have insurance, you'll practically have to refinance your house to afford a pair. When anyone in my family is due for an annual, we always have a good laugh about "going to see Kimmelman." You really have to have tough skin to handle his blunt attitude and recommendations, or else you'll feel like you're doomed. This, of course, is definitely not an ideal feeling to have when you see a doctor, but like I said, if it wasn't for the frames, I would obviously go elsewhere. My most recent visit a few weeks ago also exposed me to another side of him and his staff. I was in a bit of a rush so didn't feel like committing to purchase a pair of frames, and once they figured out that I wasn't going to "use my benefit," as it was labelled, they blew me off. Completely. I even felt awkward asking for him to write my prescription down, and although he did so, it was definitely with animosity. I ended up ordering contacts from them a few days later, as it was convenient and the same price as online, and they mailed me my old prescription :/ Thankfully I have enough on hand to last me, as I'm still waiting for the proper box to arrive.
