It was probably the best eye exam I've ever had. Dr Sager is a very thorough and understanding doctor. He addressed my concerns perfectly resulting in a new prescription that worked like my previous one. My last doctor totally screwed up my prescription, glad I kept my original glasses. Dr Mansito is a phenomenal diagnostician. She correctly asked me a series of questions prior to my eye examine which were proven out after looking at my eyes. I'm glad I did as Dr. Sager spotted a condition that, left untreated, could have rendered me blind. Following surgery in both eyes at Bascom Palmer, the future is, indeed, brighter with thanks to my surgeon, Dr Sarah Wellik, and most important, the diagnostician who spotted the issue, Dr. Sager. I used to go to Sager Eye care because it is close to my house. Today I called to make an appointment and was told they dont accept my insurance anymore. I normally buy glasses that are not covered by my insurance so I asked if the last pair I bought had any insurance discount. I was referred to this place from the social media site, Nextdoor when I inquired about a local optometrist who was good at adjusting eyeglasses. I finally made it here today and despite the sign on their door that said by appointment only (because of COVID-19) they allowed me in after waiting for someone to help me to become available. By the way, it was not a long wait although they were busy. This may sound unexceptional to some people. However, I am not a client of theirs and was not coming there to spend money. I was coming there for them to essentially help me for free. As a result, I am duly impressed. I do know that it has long been the practice of optometrist to adjust eyeglasses for people who wear them even if they are not their clients. It is a courtesy they extend to eyeglass wearers. Alex, is the person who assisted me and he did an exceptional job at it. Adjusting eyeglasses is a fine art and in the 45 years since I started wearing eyeglasses I have met very few people who are truly good at it. My sunglasses were so loose that I thought I was going to lose them while simply walking. They were twisted and long overdue to be properly adjusted. Now thanks to Alex, they are perfectly adjusted. Since he did such an exceptional job on my sunglasses, I asked him to adjust two other pairs as well, and he did. I felt a bit greedy asking for him to adjust 3 pairs of my eyeglasses at once, but I honestly desperately needed it done. When your eyeglasses are not properly adjusted it effects your vision as it throws your prescription off balance as it is not properly aligned with your eyes. So now not only are my eyeglasses all properly adjusted but I can see dramatically better. Thank goodness, Alex, and Sager Eye Care Center. I simply cannot thank you enough. By the way they have an extra nice selection of frames here. It is something I am always on the lookout for. Not in an Elton John kinda way, just in an enthusiastic way. This is a tough one. I have been receiving such excellent care at this office, but the front desk staff is really terrible. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mansito. She has navigated me through a not insignificant eye infection and the process of finding new contacts. She squeezed me in for appointments when she was already booked and really took the time to sit down with me and explain things. I give her all of the stars! HOWEVER, the office staff is incompetent. First, they didn't order me the trial contact lenses that Dr. Mansito asked them to. After I came in two weeks later for a fitting, they told me they didn't know what happened, they would re-order them, and they would call me when they were in. No phone call. I had to follow up and no one knew why I wasn't called. For subsequent orders I felt like I needed to follow up at every turn. I called one time to ask if the trial lenses were in - a basic question! - and they didn't know and said they would call me back. They didn't - I had to call again! Now I am just trying to place a full order on the trial lenses that I liked and they can't figure out which ones they are and what the prescription is. Isn't everything in the computer?? Why is this so difficult?? I can't wait to go back to 1-800-Contacts. If you have to, try to speak with Bianca. She is fairly helpful. Never talk to Sylvia!!!!!! read more

This place has such incompetent receptionists. I've been coming here for years.. all of a sudden they can't find me in the system. They kept insisting i fill out the same patient registration form. Seen him for the first time today. He was awesome. Very thorough, explaining Everything and especially dilation he was the best if ever had as far as getting done on first try and less stress. The office staff needs more professionalism. The young girl is polite. But the older women were definitely more harsh and not as polite and professional as they should have been. Took a few months to get appointment. I was lucky enough not to need a new prescription glasses. So that's a plus. And I'm glad I wasn't talked into getting a new pair. I may get one down the line. My eyes were dilated before the eye pressure and anterior chamber depth was checked. Checking the anterior chamber (patients' angles) is 100% necessary to ensure that a patient is safe to dilate. If a patient with narrow angles is dilated, they are at risk for going into angle-closure glaucoma, a serious condition that causes severe eye pain and possible loss of vision. Dr. Mansito explained that the eye pressure check is more accurate after dilation. This is false. Intraocular pressure is more accurate before dilation. This visit was concerning. Go somewhere else if you want safe eye care. read more

Dr. Sager is very caring, professional and knowledgeable. The front desk staff are helpful and there is not too long of a wait to get an appointment nor wait time at the office. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Jeffrey Sager and his team. First, it's probably the best eye exam I've had in a very long time. Second, he is personable, knowledgeable, kind, caring and attentive to you. He explains everything he's doing and helps you understand the health of your eye. He listens to your concerns with a compassionate ear and does not make you feel rushed. His staff is pleasant, welcoming and knowledgeable as well. I was amazed at how organized the office ran. There was never any downtime. I was always doing something and the only wait time I had was 5 minutes while my eye were dilating. He was recommended to me by one of my clients and I'm sure glad I changed doctors. This office is sneaky they found a way to use medical codes/diagnosis to charge my medical insurance as well as my vision ins. without advising me and at the end of services billed me double the price I usually paid. The front desk staff is extremely rude. My boyfriend and I went in to inquire about contacts and he misunderstood that his prescription was for glasses abs not contacts. First off we didn't even get a greeting when we entered even though the front is tiny and then when he didn't understand the desk persons question she talked to him like he was stupid. Just got worse from there. The other desk person has to take over. We were so embarrassed. Stay away and go to a place that appreciates customers. We won't be returning. read more

Do not buy your contacts from this office....take the prescription and go to Costco or online or anywhere but here. I bought 8 Boxes to be shipped to my home in NYC.... never received them.... Carol at the office told me she checked and they were ordered on 7/7 and delivered on 7/10 at 317 PM. I was out of town and I live in a secured building with no access to lobby or apartments from Midnight to 330PM unless you have a FOB. She is telling me I need to speak with UPS.... Sorry Carol.... you are the merchant and you need to provide proof of delivery ...give me a refund or resend the order .... extremely frustrating and very upsetting. read more

I had a random eye infection and was recommended here by a close friend. I was surprised that they were able to schedule me despite a full schedule. Dr. Mansito is a brilliant doctor. She made sure I understood everything as she was examining my eyes. There was a bit of a wait before being seen, but nowhere near as bad as most doctor offices that I've been too. Both doctors are friendly, patient, professional and care about their patients. The doctor's assistant is also kind and thorough with the pre-exam.
