So let me just start this off by saying Jorge and JB Auto deserves 10 stars out of 5. One of the few businesses that I believe are truly outstanding. I had my Audi at another auto shop that was asking for 3X more to fix. The car I had was only worth like $3K and the other auto shop was asking for $3.75K. WIthout Jorge/JB there was just no way I could make the economics work for the car and I would've just salvaged it. Besides that, Jorge genuinely seems like a very good dude. I initially requested to replace the fuel sending unit for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee due to check engine error codes P2068 and P0463. The owner and his team diagnosed the issue as electrical, not the fuel sender. Jorge was honest and knowledgeable, advising me to proceed with a full diagnostic to identify and fix the underlying problem rather than just replacing the fuel sender unit only and not fixed the problem at all and waste $$$$. He successfully replaced the faulty Body Control Module, resolving the issue and clearing the codes. Also I told him to replace the sending unit anyways as a preventive measure. Another great experience with JB Automotive. Our Honda Odyssey was overdue for a timing belt and water pump changeout. I set an appointment and visited JB Automotive a 3rd time in about 1.5-years (note: each for a different vehicle). Knowing the amount of work needed on the engine to complete this job, I asked the owner, Jorge, what other maintenance is recommended since they will be "into" the engine. He suggested 2 things and explained the reason for each. Jorge was completely honest telling me that one is highly suggested and the other was not a requirement at this time. I ended up adding the 2 since they really work together regarding engine performance. The Odyssey was ready by the end of the day (I knew the amount of work to be completed was going to take hours). The shop texted me and I was able to get there before they left for the day. As before, the repair price was quite lower than other shops including dealers. As a matter of fact, Jorge did not charge for 1 of the 2 additional work he had recommended. Yes, there was one very small item the shop unexpectedly ran into when working on the van and I was charged but Jorge told me straight forward. I appreciated his honesty and explanation. Throughout this experience, and as before, the front desk gave me top customer service. I had already told the person who gave me my transportation needs about my experience and recommended JB Automotive for any repair work needed. Jorge summed it up, he was wearing a Superman T-shirt when I arrived to pick up the Odyssey. Super service, prompt and polite, and super work. it's been over a year since getting my little car and it became such a big part of my life all thanks to jorge and the team at jb automotive for keeping it chugging smoothly. they are the only shop to work on it aside from random oil changes around and the loyalty is paying off as they can be always be trusted to deliver with quality work and service all at the best price. good example was when i first got the car, i did a lot of looking so that i can stick with one solid shop and jb automotive really fit the bill. id lump as much major and preventative maintenance per visit to have it feeling stock and reliable. unfortunately, my timing belt decided to off itself on the freeway during peak saturday night flying traffic. i was initially so worried for the car and my general safety on the side of the freeway but i just knew jb automotive would quickly restore and have me back on the road. since i always stuck with them, i was fortunately under warranty and saved possibly thousands compared to constantly hopping shops chasing a "good deal" that would just be more expensive in the long run as new shops wouldn't be knowledgeable of previous work and just don't have that connection to a familiar car that came back vs a hoopty that would never be seen again. communication was flowing very nicely as i work graveyards and finding time to stop by during regular business hours can be tough. im so glad they were flexible in me dropping and picking it up in the middle of the night since they have a security mailbox to drop your key in. this was all during monterey car week but due to the fast turn around, i was so happy to make the trip while having no problems at all. while coming back, i just had to record the beautiful pur of a car that's high on age but new in life read more

I came in because Jorge seems knowledgeable, and that trust is what led me to bring my beloved car in. The execution of the work which is done by the workers is where everything falls short, especially something I paid a couple thousand for. I made specific requests before the job and made requests that were directly tied to the primary repair for good reason, Jorge accepted and I felt assured at the time. But in the end, to my own inspection they were found to be ignored, costing me more time and money to go back in to fix. The shop's decisions led to issues that were entirely avoidable. A part that could've been easily addressed while already disassembled was instead left broken as it was and installed. The assembly also came back loaded with unnecessary RTV and Locktight, as well as some screws being loose or with stripped heads. The craftsmanship is difficult to look past. I was assured the replaced assembly was in good condition and that they would do their due diligence to make sure things would be working right. Initially it seemed fine, but what I found underneath was unfinished work, which led to my discovery of also disconnected components that were also broken by them that I know were not broken beforehand because they were new and made no weird sounds and will now prematurely wear (it also made concerning sounds when I just got the car back initially which is why it caught my attention), also meaning safety concerns due to the lack of detail. Things I specifically asked to be handled were left untouched and unreplaced. I now will have to live worrying about what will break next because of this, what is currently broken that will leave me without my car working, how my car will be affected by all of this and when I'll need to fix everything all over again because with the way things are going it seems like that's where things are headed already, and what actually got fixed or what condition each part is in. On top of that, my car came back with exterior damage deep in the paint that wasn't there at drop-off that looked like it was done while moving the car around the shop. When I raised this to attention, no accountability was taken. They said they weren't sure who caused it and so they wouldn't take any responsibility for the damages. They were apathetic didn't offer to try to help or figure out how they could help, which wasn't very welcoming or reassuring. I now look at my car, and I feel pain and worry from seeing how things are now. Post-primary job, wanting to give them another shot, I had an engine code come up and they didn't diagnose the actual problem, they replaced a new part which still threw the same code and they did not solve the problem. They're affordable and Jorge is knowledgeable. But quality control and follow-through from the workers, and his quality control at handoff is a serious problem that should be addressed. I wanted this to be my go-to shop but this wasn't right, and I cannot recommend someone to come here when things are like this leaving me with a huge burden affecting so much, with a car that now needs more time, money, and effort put into it even after going with all the shop's recommended services and initial reassurance paying in the couple thousand because I mistakenly trusted them. read more
