Fortunate enough to be referred here by my sister. She had previously been helped by Wilson who was honest with her about what her car needed. Told her that her warranty should still cover what she needed to get fixed back at the lot. The kinda honest business I wanted to honor by giving more business too. Needed a few things. Smog, oil change, potential axle replacement. They don't do smog. Oil change options ranged from $30-70 depending on the type of oil. I opted for a $50 change. Let them know my car was vibrating when I hit 55mph and asked if they could check if it could be my axles. Another shop had actually told me I needed them replaced but I didn't trust them. Idk why. Bad vibes really. After my oil change, Johnny told me my axles were fine but told me he thinks it could be my tires being unbalanced and thinks I should try that. He doesn't have the machine to do it but said California Wheels a few doors down does and I could go there. Again, another local shop told me that I needed the axles replaced. They quoted this at a $300+ job for something I did not need. And Johnny could have easily done this to me and I wouldn't have know better and done it. I share as a testament to this shop not ripping you off and actually doing what is in your best interest. Got my oil change done in less than an hour. I gave CW a call for a quote while I waited and they said $77.97 for tire rebalancing. I told them I'd call back. As I checked out I asked Johnny how much he thought a tire rebalancing would cost. He told me anywhere from $10-15 and it shouldn't be too expensive. This man was a blessing! 10/10 I am coming back here forever read more

I dropped it off later that week and after he was done inspecting my vehicle, he texted me the estimate and I agreed to the services he had listed. He was very honest and didn't try to upsell me or suggest any other services if it wasn't required. It rare to come across an auto repair shop that is honest and doesn't just reccommend services for extra profit. Hung's Auto completed all the repairs for me the same day. Very fast and efficient. I was looking an inspection/repair on my car cause it was making some weird noises from the engine. Then my girlfriend's dad recommended me this place and found the issue. They gave me a good rate as I would've gotten charged way more if I had taken it to the dealership to fix. As soon as the new parts came in, they fixed the problem immediately with no issues. I've been taking my Toyota Echo to Hung Auto Repair for the past 2 years or so. I used to take it to Asian Auto Clinic in Santa Clara which they are also very good and knowledgeable. But my experience with Hung Auto has been exceptionally well! Johnny and the rest of the team are very honest and straightforward. The prices are very reasonable compared to other shops. I am glad that I found them. I feel comfortable and confident taking my car here. And you will too! Tip: Just call ahead and see what days they have available. Or if you live near, stop by and ask for Johnny and have a talk with him in regards of your car problems. (that's what I always do) He will let you know what days he has available and you both can agree on a date. Or maybe he can take care of it that same day. You never know. Just ask. I asked my friend for a good mechanic in the area and he recommended Hung Auto Repair to me. I try to go as early in the morning as possible, they are always super busy (which is a good sign that a lot of other people trust them too.) My car hit 100,000k miles and I told them I don't know anything about cars and what needs to be done, if they could just check whatever it is that needs to be checked or changed and just give me the bill. I expected it to be a few hundred dollars but it ended up being only 180! I was a customer for life after that. Highly recommend them! Open during SIP! Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get an oil change (brought our own oil); they took our car in immediately and took no longer than 30 mins. They fix stuff that i meant to be fixed but not what I wanted.My car was making squeaky noise. It was the fork fluid issue. They replaced my control arm. The annoying sounds was still there. Plus they charge me $250 for the labor that does not fix the issue. Told them and they told me to comeback next month to fix it. Recently got my breakpads and rotors replaced here. Located on East side SJ, and right across the street from where I live. The shop isn't hard to find, however there are so many other auto shops in the area that you may get confused if you aren't looking at the stores carefully. Customer service was really good, explained to me what was changed out for the car and was charged exactly for that, it costed $260 to change breakpads and rotors for my Honda Accord. They informed me that it was going to be finished in about 3 hours, so I called back at the end of the day to check in for my car. The only thing I took off one star for is that I would've preferred if they would call me directly after to inform me that they finished working on my car, but other than that service and pricing is 5/5. read more

I suspected that I needed a brake pad replacement so I brought it to Hung for his opinion. He called me back to inform me my brake pads still had some life left but the problem was a warped rotor which he says caused rumbling in the wheel (I thought that was normal as and didn't even tell him about this problem) and could potentially cause bigger problems in the future. I opted to replace both the rotor and the front pad and it was extremely cheap (my car is old). He finished before the quoted time and showed me my rotor when I came to pick it up. As someone who only knows how to park and drive, I have anxiety about bringing my car in to shops as I am shamefully clueless about all things auto and would be the ideal target for a mechanic looking to take advantage. Hung kindly explained to me the issue in a way I could understand, and even allowed me to drop my car off before business hours as I had work obligations. I am a very old customer to this place since 2012. Last few years, i was not in this area but as i am back in this year. I tried to go back to get my car oil change done and it was a horrible experience. Few years back there was a guy named Tom who was a very nice guy but he changed the job few years back. So this time, i called and some other guy answered, I booked an appointment and i was told i would need to wait for about 40 mins for oil change to be done. I was there at my appointment time and i was looking for someone to help me out. I asked from someone who was in the shop and he answers were very rude and i was told there is one car ahead of me so i need to wait for 1 hour for that car to finish and then they would start working on my car. I recently got a new key for my Lexus and wanted to get it programmed to my car. I called a few lexus dealers and they wanted $135-175 for the programming fee. Before going to the dealer, a friend of mine recommend this shop. I arrived around 6 PM and wasn't aware that they close at 6. However one of the mechanics, Brian was more than willing to help, I told him when on the forums a lot of people said the tech stream program should be able to program it, but he didn't have that exact program. But he still wanted to try with another program, after about 10 mins of setting up his OBDII system, we were able to program the key and he showed me that I now have 3 registered keys. He stayed extra long to make sure my car could be locked, unlocked, trunk opened etc with the key. Overall this shop provided me with great service and showed willingness to help. They charged me a fraction of what the dealer would had charged and it only took a total of 30 mins. I highly recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I'd made a reservation for 2PM got there on time. And he asked me to wait a few mins since he's finishing up a car before me. So I waited 30mins and I asked him "how long do I actually have to wait?" And he says " 3:10PM ". So I was literally sitting in my car for 30mins just to wasted another 40mins? And he asked me to "reschedule for the following morning". The positive reviews on are point, this place is honest and does good work at reasonable prices. My wife's CRV recently had some slight noise coming from the brakes. I called and made an appointment with Johnny to have it looked at on a Saturday morning. They were quite busy that morning (which to me is a good sign for a shop). Johnny knew I was sticking around to wait so he assured me that he would determine asap if I needed new pads, rotors or both. After he and his technician inspected the car's brakes, he let me know that front pads and new rotors were what he recommended and he quoted me a great price. After a couple hours, the work was done and the noise was gone. I was happy with my overall experience. I was here yesterday for brake pad replacement with rotor resurfacing. They offered the free inspection (including both front and back) no matter you are getting the service done there or not. The final quote was also lower than a few other places. The mechanic who performed the service is very professional - patient and detailed in doing every single step. The parts they used were in good quality. As they don't take appointment.... You have to be there as early as possible, else a long wait is there for you. read more
