Came in for a check engine light and stopped by Stevens Creek Subaru first. Their quote was $300/hour for diagnostic fee. PM Autoworks only quotes $200/hour, so a significant savings if it takes more than an hour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One downside is that it took 2 weeks before I could get an appointment at PM Auto for service & diagnostics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While there I had my car fluids changed (brake, coolant, and transmission), tires rotated, spark plugs changed, AC recharge, change out O2 sensors. I chose PM Autoworks over my local Subaru dealer because their prices were significantly cheaper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I reached out on Yelp to schedule a brake flush, front pads/rotors, front CV axle seals, and an alignment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a minor hiccup when I arrived--they didn't have my appointment in their system--but they immediately took my car in to get it done that day anyway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During the inspection, they found a leaking transmission pressure sensor. Because the part had to be ordered from the dealer, I had to leave my car overnight. To make up for the scheduling error, they replaced the sensor with free labor. Additionally, instead of just doing the alignment I asked for, the mechanic honestly pointed out that my tires only had 4/32" of tread left. He advised me to hold off on the alignment until I get new tires soon so I wouldn't have to pay for it twice. read more

Read amazing reviews about this place and had a detailed talk over the work I wanted to get done to my car(30k service), I wanted a specific motor oil since my cars tuned (motuil 5w30) the individual that gave me the quote even put notes on the work sheet to put in said oil. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I drop off the car at 9:15am went over the quote happy thinking my car was in good hands come 7 hrs later I get a call that the cars ready for pick up come in and the guy working the front desk tells me they put in 0w20 oil.....I asked him "why" the front desk guy goes on to tell me it's what the manufacturer asks for.... Ok but the manufacturer isn't the one paying I am![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And I specifically asked for 5w30 I show him the lengthy txt message I had over said quote and finally says they'll switch over the oil to the 5w30 didn't offer a discount for the error, I had to ask for a discount, the discount he gave me.....wait for it.... $20 bucks...... honestly disappointed. Now I'm worried about the job done entirely. Had high hopes for this place. Really bummed out with the outcome. read more

Yah, there's no doubt, these guys are the best. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's like the dealer, but better, with better service and a much better customer care.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have an older subaru that I am absolutely in love with. It runs well but had a few issues that were adding up. They did a thorough evaluation, explaining what I needed at a minimum, and also explaining what it could lead to when they get into it. I agreed, and they started the work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They kept me updated with pics and even videos as they were going. I felt like I was looped into everything they were seeing as they saw it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. In the end it cost me a lot less than I thought. There were a few items I expected to replace, and they explained the parts were fine and I didn't need to spend the money. I even tried to persuade them to replace anyway, but they explained, if I replaced it, I wouldn't be any further ahead. I finally listened. And now the car feels like new again, I couldn't be happier. Such a much better decsion to invest in my car rather than buy something new that basically does the same thing. And I love my subaru. Really a great experience. These are the folks you want working on your Subaru if you care about your vehicle and want to keep around and serviced reliabley. Scheduled an appointment for my transmission and differential fluid. It's cheaper than the dealership

Went in for a clunking noise on my Forester- research told me that cv axle (s) were one likely culprit but those were just replaced recently elsewhere . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The crew was very friendly; they scanned and test drove my ride ,and felt that the gearshift was not as smooth as it should be[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] , (which I had not felt at all) No dash lights have been on recently and no current issues on their scan. Their advice based on the above info and the service history was to replace the transmission -Yikes! Did not see that coming. I just purchased this Forester in July and it got a clean prepurchase inspection , since then it has had oil change, AT fluid drain / refill, new tires, solenoid replaced , crv axles and wheel bearings replaced . I'm tapped. That's not PMs fault at all, I know- they didn't even charge for their time and effort today which was very cool. If I could afford it anywhere I'd get the tranny replacement done at PM auto . read more

I'm so glad I found PM Auto! I had a recurring issue with my STi where I kept getting a specific check engine code that was a "blanket" code. Subaru dealership wanted $200 just to diagnose the possible issues :( Thankfully, I work in a shop (not for cars, but an engine is an engine, lol) so I was able to narrow down my issue which I presented to PM. I shot an email to them with what I suspected to be the issue and a couple hours later I had a quote and my questions answered! I made my appointment, arrived and was greeted right away to confirm what I was in for. The crew was nice & made sure I was comfortable in their office where I was able to work on my laptop. My car was done in the time frame they estimated and my problem has been solved ever since! I even got a follow up text to see if my issue had been resolved, that's what I call customer service. Took my 23 BRZ for the first oil change at PM Autoworks several weeks ago. Randy took care of everything smoothly. The oil change was quick and they also topped off fluids and checked throughout the car. They used OEM oil and had higher grade Motul oil in case I need to take my car to track more often. Took in my 2013 Scion FR-S due to a clicking/clacking noise with the VVT system in my engine. Randy was very responsive when I voiced my concerns. I was the third owner of the car, and I knew that the car was going to need some attention to get back in shape. I had an idea of what kind of engine work I wanted done to the car, but Randy was great about making recommendations to replace other components while the engine was already out to save me money and time on future repairs/maintenance.
