PM Autoworks continues to deliver excellent service. I recently brought in my 2015 Subaru WRX in for a routine oil change and maintenance. They performed a full synthetic oil drain/refill with OEM filter, tire rotation, topped off all fluids, adjusted tire pressure, and completed a multi-point inspection -- all at a very fair price. Gustavo's thoughtful follow-up text a few days later was a nice touch that shows they genuinely stand behind their work. After having them expertly handle a transmission leak for me a few months ago, I now consider PM Autoworks my go-to shop. The guys here are professional, honest, and knowledgeable and I highly recommend them to any Subaru owner in the San Jose area. read more

Came in for a check engine light and stopped by Stevens Creek Subaru first. Their quote was $300/hour for diagnostic fee. PM Autoworks only quotes $200/hour, so a significant savings if it takes more than an hour. One downside is that it took 2 weeks before I could get an appointment at PM Auto for service & diagnostics. While there I had my car fluids changed (brake, coolant, and transmission), tires rotated, spark plugs changed, AC recharge, change out O2 sensors. Pros: * Good communication with Gustavo / Sun. * Friendly staff * Fast service. Dropped off car at 9am and it was ready before 4pm. * Prices more reasonable than Stevens Creek Subaru. * Thorough inspection of vehicle with photos of potential problems down the road. Cons: * Depends on your luck in regards to appointment * May have some extra wait time during drop off or pick-up as there is one person handling pickup / payment. It wasn't too bad for me but allocate an extra 15-20 min to be safe. read more

This is definitely the place for Subaru owners. Everything was handled professionally and exactly as I expected. The waiting room is comfortable, with AC, water, coffee, and WiFi available. I also appreciated receiving all the necessary information by email -- very convenient. The service itself was impressively quick: just 1 hour and 30 minutes for routine maintenance and an alignment. Highly recommended! read more

The service and its quality is great. I've gotten multiple installations from intake and intermediate pipe all for a fair value. I recently got my Air Oil Separator installed with them and it turned out great! Highly recommend going if you need service for your Subi! read more

Great, honest people work here. I'm definitely returning whenever my car needs to be serviced.

I chose PM Autoworks over my local Subaru dealer because their prices were significantly cheaper. I reached out on Yelp to schedule a brake flush, front pads/rotors, front CV axle seals, and an alignment. There was a minor hiccup when I arrived--they didn't have my appointment in their system--but they immediately took my car in to get it done that day anyway. During the inspection, they found a leaking transmission pressure sensor. Because the part had to be ordered from the dealer, I had to leave my car overnight. To make up for the scheduling error, they replaced the sensor with free labor. Additionally, instead of just doing the alignment I asked for, the mechanic honestly pointed out that my tires only had 4/32" of tread left. He advised me to hold off on the alignment until I get new tires soon so I wouldn't have to pay for it twice. read more

Yah, there's no doubt, these guys are the best. It's like the dealer, but better, with better service and a much better customer care. I have an older subaru that I am absolutely in love with. It runs well but had a few issues that were adding up. They did a thorough evaluation, explaining what I needed at a minimum, and also explaining what it could lead to when they get into it. I agreed, and they started the work. They kept me updated with pics and even videos as they were going. I felt like I was looped into everything they were seeing as they saw it. In the end it cost me a lot less than I thought. There were a few items I expected to replace, and they explained the parts were fine and I didn't need to spend the money. I even tried to persuade them to replace anyway, but they explained, if I replaced it, I wouldn't be any further ahead. I finally listened. And now the car feels like new again, I couldn't be happier. Such a much better decsion to invest in my car rather than buy something new that basically does the same thing. And I love my subaru. Really a great experience. These are the folks you want working on your Subaru if you care about your vehicle and want to keep around and serviced reliabley. I just wish they worked on Audi's. read more

Read amazing reviews about this place and had a detailed talk over the work I wanted to get done to my car(30k service), I wanted a specific motor oil since my cars tuned (motuil 5w30) the individual that gave me the quote even put notes on the work sheet to put in said oil. I drop off the car at 9:15am went over the quote happy thinking my car was in good hands come 7 hrs later I get a call that the cars ready for pick up come in and the guy working the front desk tells me they put in 0w20 oil.....I asked him "why" the front desk guy goes on to tell me it's what the manufacturer asks for.... Ok but the manufacturer isn't the one paying I am! And I specifically asked for 5w30 I show him the lengthy txt message I had over said quote and finally says they'll switch over the oil to the 5w30 didn't offer a discount for the error, I had to ask for a discount, the discount he gave me.....wait for it.... $20 bucks...... honestly disappointed. Now I'm worried about the job done entirely. Had high hopes for this place. Really bummed out with the outcome. read more

What an amazing shop! They were able to get my car fixed quickly and at a good price. Everyone was friendly and professional.

Ghosted. I hope these people are doing ok at the shop ... they just disappeared on me. I reached out on Yelp, got replied and got on a phone call, discussed and scheduled a time to check and explore options. appointment confirmed from a week before. yelp them for follow up questions .. twice ... no response. email them ... no response. contact them from their website .. no response. called once ... voice mail. I nevertheless went to the appointment at 9am. There were two+ other cars also waiting. ten (10) minutes pass 9am opening time, nobody show up to the shop and the gate remained closed.... i gave up and left. hope these guys are doing alright ... but maybe they just ghosted now. read more

Went in for a clunking noise on my Forester- research told me that cv axle (s) were one likely culprit but those were just replaced recently elsewhere . The crew was very friendly; they scanned and test drove my ride ,and felt that the gearshift was not as smooth as it should be , (which I had not felt at all) No dash lights have been on recently and no current issues on their scan. Their advice based on the above info and the service history was to replace the transmission -Yikes! Did not see that coming. I just purchased this Forester in July and it got a clean prepurchase inspection , since then it has had oil change, AT fluid drain / refill, new tires, solenoid replaced , crv axles and wheel bearings replaced . I'm tapped. That's not PMs fault at all, I know- they didn't even charge for their time and effort today which was very cool. If I could afford it anywhere I'd get the tranny replacement done at PM auto . read more

Gustavo and the team at PM are top notch. We had a coolant leak and they quickly verified the source was the water pump. There was no upselling and they proposed a very cost efficient plan of work. My wife had to deal with them as I was away on a work trip. They are very courteous, efficient and above all, honest. They will definitely see our return business. read more

(Copy/Paste from my Google review) I have owned 4 Subarus over the past 20 years. Currently on my 5th. In those years I have dealt with many repair shops, including those who claim to be "Subaru specialists". After my recent experience with PM Autoworks, I can confidently say that these guys are the real deal. They certainly have the expertise to work on Subies, but what set these guys apart is their level of care and professionalism. Clear, concise communications through out the process. No unexpected surprises when I showed up to pick up my car. Everything is up front. Highly recommend if you have a Subaru. read more

Quality service from the team at PM Autoworks! Took my crosstrek there for my first non-dealer service to get the 60k maintenance done. They provided different tiers of service to match your budget. I was on a little bit of a time crunch (my own fault for not scheduling something sooner) and the guys were able to squeeze me in for an overnight service. It was a pleasure working with Son, he took the time to explain everything at pickup and sent me pics they took of the engine. Quick communication, friendly team, quality work. You can tell they know Subaru cars and won't try to up charge you for any services. I will definitely be back for my next oil change. read more

I'm so glad I found PM Auto! I had a recurring issue with my STi where I kept getting a specific check engine code that was a "blanket" code. Subaru dealership wanted $200 just to diagnose the possible issues :( Thankfully, I work in a shop (not for cars, but an engine is an engine, lol) so I was able to narrow down my issue which I presented to PM. I shot an email to them with what I suspected to be the issue and a couple hours later I had a quote and my questions answered! I made my appointment, arrived and was greeted right away to confirm what I was in for. The crew was nice & made sure I was comfortable in their office where I was able to work on my laptop. My car was done in the time frame they estimated and my problem has been solved ever since! I even got a follow up text to see if my issue had been resolved, that's what I call customer service. They were really honest which I appreciate since that isn't so common these days. I am happy to say I have found my Subie Shop! Thanks for the help you provided to get me back on the road! read more

I came to know about PM Autoworks from a friend and got the clutch replace service done here. It was a long wait time but it's all worth it. Very friendly staff and more importantly very very knowledgable staff. The work done was 100% top quality. No issues and I like the fact that staff makes an extra effort to follow up with me after few days to see how the car is doing. Took my 23 BRZ for the first oil change at PM Autoworks several weeks ago. Randy took care of everything smoothly. The oil change was quick and they also topped off fluids and checked throughout the car. They used OEM oil and had higher grade Motul oil in case I need to take my car to track more often. The change was very reasonably priced especially comparing to dealer's price. I would definitely trust these guys with my car as they are car enthusiasts as well and are happy to take care of my car with expertise they have. read more

Took in my 2013 Scion FR-S due to a clicking/clacking noise with the VVT system in my engine. Randy was very responsive when I voiced my concerns. I was the third owner of the car, and I knew that the car was going to need some attention to get back in shape. I had an idea of what kind of engine work I wanted done to the car, but Randy was great about making recommendations to replace other components while the engine was already out to save me money and time on future repairs/maintenance. I chose to go with his recommendations without feeling any pressure as I know the team would do a great job. Communication was solid and Randy also texted me pictures of the concerns he had and showed how a previous technician overdid the RTV on the engine-out recall job haha. Overall, pleased with my experience with PM Autoworks and it was worth the drive from the East Bay. The car feels 100% and is ready to go another 100k. I will definitely recommend these guys to anyone that needs Subaru engine work done. Thanks to Randy and the rest of the PM Autoworks team! read more
