Wow, do I trust them! I was referred to this shop from Charles at Kim's Body Shop who's done great work on our car so really trusted their recommendation. We've been taking our BMWs (we've had 2) to the dealership because it's just very simple and straightforward. But, after our warranty ended and feeling like we should shop around a little bit for service/price since the dealership can cost more, really glad we found this shop. Have worked with both Michael and Dennis and they've been really helpful and thorough. Michael spent 15minutes with me at least to help me understand what needed to be done and estimated cost and Dennis helped check if something were under my warranty. I feel so much better finding this shop and not feeling ripped off and being able to ask all of the stupid questions without feeling like I'm wasting someone's time. Here's my take on Silicon Valley Bimmer. I actually didn't end up getting any work done there -- and that's exactly why I'm writing this review. Worked with Michael to set up an intercooler installation, and I was in and out real quick. Didn't get a chance to meet the mechanics but car feels great after getting the keys back. Great and honest service. Didn't try to upsell anything we didn't need. We had the parts already, so they just charged for the labor to replace the lower control arm bushings and an alignment. It took a while to realize that they are cheating on us! Really smartly, they'll tell you they check and top off fluids like coolant and other things! But they don't. We got a low coolant sign a month or so after service and called them about it. He first scares us saying, you shouldn't get it, there could be a leak. He says get the car and we will check it - you should not get this sign as we top off the fluids during service! Then next day he charges us 100$ for topping off coolant, we had a ridiculous experience. He plainly lied to us. They have done this once before with windshield wiper fluid but we didn't realize it coz we used to trust. Don't make a mistake of trusting these folks. read more

I've left multiple reviews for SVB. Because going back as far as a few years now, they're the only ones I let work on my cars. Recently, my 2015 X5 M Sport develop an issue. I brought it into SVB and Ricardo diagnosed it as a "misfire" and recommended that I have the plugs and coils replaced. She's at 111,000 Miles and was due for service. I set up an appointment, had that done, and not only did the problem remain, it somewhat got worse. As crazy as it may sound, the misfire began to jump from cylinder to cylinder. Ricardo and Dennis let me know that they needed a little more time with my car. No problem. As always they have my FULL trust. I brought it back the following Monday. Dennis let me know that the misfire was happening with my injectors. Also let me know that my injectors were still under a 10-year warranty with BMW. Not only that, but Dennis went way above and beyond and reached out to a colleague of his at Stevens Creek BMW to take care of this issue. When I went back to pick up my car at SVB, Dennis gave me a printout of everything that was going on, and exactly who to talk to once I got to Stevens Creek BMW. Before I left SVB, I asked Dennis, "What the l turnaround might be?" He let me know that he didn't know, that they were "Fitting me in." and expecting me. Once I arrived at Stevens Creek BMW, I hooked up with Justin. During my intake, Justin had commented to me... "Dennis has hand selected the technicians he would like to work on your car." What? He's got it like that? Justin replied, "Yeah he does!" (Respect!) I picked up my baby 2 Days later, running perfect! So once again, Big Up's and Much Thanks to SVB!!!! And before I close this review, the work SVB did on my X5 was perfect! And I didn't have to pay a dime to Stevens Creek BMW! So, if you drive a Bimmer and it needs work, doesn't matter where on the curve, from the major to the minor, do yourself a favor and bring it to Ricardo and Dennis at SVB! read more

These guys are incredible! Their prices are competitive (I've checked with other place), they do quality work, they never over sell on things you don't need. They care for your car as a whole, not just for the service you come in, and provide recommendations. They always do more than you ask for without additional charge. Examples: Changed my clock to catch up to daylights. Replaced my car key battery. Vacuumed Replaced my windshield wipers. Their facility is clean and their bays are nice and bright. They are always busy, so make sure to make an appointment. They can sometimes squeeze you in for emergencies. I've been going to this shop for over a year now, and I haven't gone to any other since then. I've had many repairs done by them, such as a valve cover gasket, pumps, bushings, hoses, sensors and more, and their quality of work and prices are worth it and affordable. They've also saved me a lot of money by advising me not to do certain jobs yet because my parts are still in good condition or because it's unnecessary. Other shops would have taken that as a green light to make a quick buck, but these guys are honest and really look out for you. Below average work and never 100%. Replaced my differential with a brand new one from bmw here and a couple weeks later had to tow the car in because the bushing for the mount was faulty and dislodged itself apparently. Clever way to not admit to improper installation. Alignment was done by string method due to alignment machine being down and instead of rescheduling for a day the equipment was operating correctly i was expected to pay for subpar alignment. Had some rod bearings changed out here and came home to a low oil warning light which is the worst thing to experience after a big job like that. For a reputable shop in the bay i was surprised by my experience here. Prepare for them to try to secure work and money out of you by playing on your fears. Valve adjustment job was estimated super high here so i got a second opinion elsewhere and they were able to discount their original estimate to be competitive but why is a discount even necessary in the first place why not just charge me honestly? Had to fight tooth and nail to have them remove most of the negative camber in the rear using adjustable control arms I acquired from bimmerworld which was confirmed by bimmerworld to be a viable solution. A rattle sound i presumed to be coming from the exhaust on cold start was diagnosed to be a problem with the vanos. Got new exhaust hangers and tightened up the exhaust points and that solved the issue. I would not recommend this place. Gave them multiple chances but consistently let me down. read more

SV Bimmer has been servicing my cars the last few years, and theyre one of the few shops I trust with my cars. They serviced my e39 m5 replacing my rear brakes and pads, and helped diagnose a clunk in my front suspension with my coilovers. They also recently performed a rod bearing replacement with BE bearings and ARP bolts on my e92 m3, as well as replaced the engine mounts. I called around multiple shops and some were quoting me too high or they didnt have BE bearings in stock, but SVB gave me a good quote AND had the BE bearings and ARP bolts in stock. They also gave me an alignment since I just put on coilovers recently. For convenience, they also allow after hours drop off of your car if you call ahead. They allowed me to drop my car off after work (which was after they close shop for the day) and I filled out a form, then they called me the next day confirming they received the car. Also, they put an air freshener in all of their cars they service, so my car smells great! I would recommend SV Bimmer to any enthusiast or person who wants to take care of their cars. read more

I never write negative reviews, but my experience was less than good. I set up an appointment about a week in advance and showed up early in the morning the day of to find out they didn't have the parts needed to do the job within the same day. They agreed to get the parts and I would come back the next day. So I drive back to SF and come back the next day, do some work and grab lunch, and go back to the shop only for them to let me know that the parts I had to wait an extra day for aren't the right ones (something I would have been able to tell them if I had seen the parts). I call my friend to pick me up since the car is out of commission. The third and final day, I get another friend to drive me down there again to pick up the car. The job was done. It seemed like an unfortunate turn of events, but it didn't go well from the start. The fact that they weren't prepared the first day I got there was disappointing. Three days and much gas money, time, and bribing of friends later, I finally have the job done. Won't be coming back. read more

The only place I trust with my E90 M3! They did my rod bearing replacement a few months ago and I was very satisfied with the service I was given. They were one of the few shops in the bay that were authorized to sell the aftermarket bearings that actually fix the issue. They gave me the old bearings as I requested and gave me a discount on replacing the motor mounts at the same time. I later took my M3 back to them because I though my Trans was having issues... they test drove it checked the fluid and thought me more about the DCT. Turns out it was in my head and the DCT is a bit awkward until it warms up. I also had them fix a door rattle while it was there. They knew exactly what it was! I excepted to pay like $300 for all this...they charged me $70!! I was blown away! They are legit, not after people's $$$ they actually like fixing cars and have a passion for BMWs. Very dishonest. Took my e92 m3 there for rod bearing service. As part of that service they replaced timing cover gaskets and next oil service when I go in, they note "both timing covers leaking". Why? Less than 1000 miles later. Only answers are they didn't do it right the first time or they are lying. Their guys are straight assholes every time I speak with them. I'll never go back. Oh yeah, and there prices go up all the time. I'm sure the owner will respond with "well inflation blah blah..." I'm serious when I say this everyone. Don't go to this place. took in our 2014 x3 for Apple CarPlay installation. while that work went fine we discovered the windshield was cracked in both the top and bottom corners on the driver side. sent pics to Dennis asking for compensation and he returned one of our pics to us with the crack circled saying his tech took it to document preexisting damage. it was clearly our pic taken at night in SF. very dishonest and silly.
