Doors They hung allowed bugs to enter due to space. Deck they did is falling apart and has to reinforce with other vendors. Tried to buy windows but they never came, but that was a blessing. Went with different company and all went well with much higher quantity. This person is very pleasant but the business side is horrible. My mistake was paying for it all upfront. Never use your girlfriend's friends!!! Lesson learned. Southern Sons did a fabulous job on the back of my house facing the lake. Call them. read more

We had Joey come out to quote us on a fence for our backyard on June 5. He sent me a quote for $3,855.00 this was to build a privacy fence 8feet long to provide privacy our hot tub, cedar picket fence on the sides of the house and black metal fencing for the back of the yard. We agreed to the price and paid 50% deposit $1,927.55 on June 14. On June 19th he told me he was hoping to get started in a week or so. I did not hear anything from Joey so I messaged him on July 6th and he said would be out next Thursday to set posts. I honestly dont remember if they actually did it that Thursday (July 12) but I did have to message him on July 23 asking if he had a completion date. He said "I'm waiting on the black fence that was supposed to be in last week. I'm hoping it will be in any day." I told him that if the black fence didn't come in by the end of the week then let's just do all wood fence. On July 27th he messaged me telling me that the fence will be going in on Monday July 30th. Joey and his crew arrived early to start the fence. They finished everything that day. But when my husband arrived home and he went to go check out the fence Joey had done the privacy fence differently than my husband and he had discussed back in June. Also they did a shoddy job on the privacy fence where the ground sloped he cut up cedar pickets and pieced them together instead of discussing with us or getting 8 ft pickets. All the posts on the wooden picket fence along the side of the house the cuts were way off and slanted, they used nails instead of screws, the nail heads are sticking out everywhere, they used finishing nails on the wooden gate, and the posts are short in a few spots so the water will collect. Joey had already sent the final invoice before leaving our home on Monday the 30th. I asked him to return the next morning to discuss the things we were not satisfied with. He said that he understood how we were not satisfied with the cuts of the posts, he said he struggled with what to do about the privacy fence and where the ground sloped but he did whatever because he couldn't find 8ft cedar pickets called everywhere. He agreed to come back that afternoon Tuesday 31 to fix that. He somehow managed to find 8 ft cedar pickets on Tuesday. The offense still looks terrible and is dangerous for anybody to walk by any parts of it but we paid him his final balance. We are still extremely disappointed in the quality of Joey and his team's work I would not recommend this company to anyone. The poor workmanship is a reflection of JB Backyard Design llc and they have no pride in their work. read more
